Abstract

Cet éclateur de protection contre les surtensions des lignes de communication et autre comprend deux électrodes ayant des faces opposées afin de délimiter entre elles un intervalle d'amorçage d'arc. Les faces opposées définissent deux nervures annulaires concentriques se faisant face, un creux débouchant radialement à l'intérieur des nervures annulaires et un espace annulaire ou ouverture radiale à l'extérieur des nervures annulaires. L'ouverture dudit creux et dudit espace annulaire s'étend axialement par rapport aux nervures de façon à réaliser un maximum de relief ou de volume libre pour les particules qui sont arrachées des électrodes au cours de la décharge, indépendamment de la polarité des électrodes. Le volume de la cavité est utilisé pour libérer dans l'atmosphère les particules arrachées à partir de l'intervalle d'amorçage de l'arc.
