Abstract
Préparation d'acide isophtalique ou d'acide téréphtalique par l'oxydation, respectivement, de méta- ou de para-xylène avec de l'oxygène moléculaire, à des températures élevées et dans des conditions en phase liquide en présence de catalyseurs constitués par une combinaison d'au moins un catalyseur d'oxydation à base de métal de transition (Mn, Co, Ce) et en présence d'une source de brome. Conformément à l'invention, on utilise un système solvant liquide comprenant essentiellement de l'acide benzoïque et de l'eau en une proportion en poids maintenue entre 3 % et environ 15 %. Possibilité de maîtriser industriellement la valeur de la température d'oxydation et d'en limiter efficacement les fluctuations tout en obtenant un produit très peu coloré, d'un haut degré de pureté, rapidement et à un taux de conversion élevé.Preparation of isophthalic acid or terephthalic acid by the oxidation, respectively, of meta- or para-xylene with molecular oxygen, at elevated temperatures and under liquid phase conditions in the presence of catalysts consisting of a combination of at least one oxidation catalyst based on a transition metal (Mn, Co, Ce) and in the presence of a source of bromine. Possibility of industrially controlling the value of the oxidation temperature and effectively limiting its fluctuations while obtaining a very little colored product, with a high degree of purity, quickly and at a high conversion rate.
