Abstract

Pincer-spanner able to grip a range of nut sizes comprises twin interpivoting inter-sprung hand levers 1, 2 the shorter limbs of which 4, 8 terminate in a femal U section 4b, pref. semi-hexagonal, and a short male stub 8a respectively, so arranged to interfit, thus able to grip nuts locating half in the female section, whilst the male applies confining pressure normal to the opposing flat. The U piece pins via mortice 1a and tenon 4a onto lever 1 which is of rectangular section and retracts into its U sectioned counterpart 2. Alternatively the U can have a toothed interior and the male a concave tip for gripping shafts etc.
