Abstract

A frame has front steering wheels on two uprights connected by a tie bar and moved by hydraulic jacks. The rear axle carries driving wheels. The axle pivots on a longitudinal pin which can be slid in a channel integral with the chassis by a jack. This operation is of great value when the machine may become bogged down in soft, wet conditions. The engine drives the wheels through a hydraulic transmission which can maintain drive even while the wheel base is being altered. The machine bears a table which bears the implement e.g. cutter bar, and which is pivoted by a jack, enabling the height of the implement to be varied in relation to the soil.
