Abstract

A composite material for indirect transfer printing, coating or plasticising comprising a support having a first layer of a substance which is anionic in soln and a second layer which is chemically incompatible with and adhering weakly to, the first layer to allow easy peeling, hot or cold, the second layer is printable or coatable and can be coated with an adhesive layer chosen from resins which are adhesive when cold or hot and whose adhesion to a substrate is stronger than that at the interface of the first and second layers. The material may be used for effecting either hot or cold transfer and is easily wetted by emulsions or aqs. soln.
