Abstract

A submersible pump possibley of the helicoidal type for lifting oil from the bottom of a pit and guaranteeing increased production is arranged to rest on a shoulder in the rising tube close to the bottom of the borehole and is protected against the possibility of running dry by a valve in the pump compression chamber which opens when the flow is diminished so that the rotating parts are maintained under lubrication.
