Abstract

Contact breaker has an arc extinction chamber, in which an arc is truck in a gas between 2 aligned contacts which are surrounded in the zone, of the arc by an annular nozzle of pref. PTFE. When the contacts open, a blower gas through the nozzle to extinguish the arc. An annular screen pref of PTFE, surrounds at least one of the contacts within the nozzle, and upstream of the nozzle in relation to the gas flow.
