CONSTA DE UNA CARCASA COMPUESTA FORMADA POR UNA VIROLA CILINDRICA CONSTITUIDA POR VARIOS ELEMENTOS PREFORMADOS ACOPLADOS, Y POR DOS PLACAS QUE CIERRAN LOS EXTREMOS DE LA VIROLA, UN ESTATOR Y UN ROTOR MONTADOR CONCENTRICAMENTE EN LA CARCASA, Y SIENDO LAS PLACAS LAS QUE SOPORTAN LOS COJINETES DEL ARBOL DEL ROTOR. LA VIROLA ESTA COMPUESTA DE MUESCAS CUYOS FONDOS SIRVEN DE APOYO A PATAS RADIALES DE LA PLACA. CADA PATA LLEVA A CADA LADO DE LAS PATAS RADIALES, REBORDES QUE DEFINEN UNA SUPERFICIE CILINDRICA DE DIAMETRO EXTERIOR PRACTICAMENTE IGUAL AL DIAMETRO DE ESCARIADO DE LA VIROLA Y QUE PERMITE UN CENTRADO EFICAZ DE LA PLACA CON RELACION A LA VIROLA.
