Abstract

Un método para monitorizar un sujeto sedado usando un procesador lógico, que comprende: recibir datos digitales que representan el electroencefalograma, EEG, de dicho sujeto en dicho procesador; calcular una diferencia de amplitud absoluta (di) a través de la señal de EEG, con un historial de 1 segundo, alisando de este modo para minimizar los efectos de la variación de la señal sobre la detección del inicio; usar dicho procesador para determinar uno o más inicios de brote detectando un inicio de brote cuando una diferencia de amplitud absoluta alisada supera un criterio basado en la mediana de la amplitud absoluta del EEG multiplicada por un factor especificado; usar dicho procesador para determinar uno o más inicios de supresión detectando un inicio de supresión cuando la diferencia de amplitud absoluta alisada va por debajo de la mediana de la amplitud absoluta; usar dicho procesador para determinar uno o más intervalos de brote-supresión, determinando el tiempo entre un inicio de la supresión y un inicio del brote posterior, independientemente de la duración del brote; usar dicho procesador para determinar un intervalo de brote-supresión medio en curso para una duración temporal especificada junto con un nivel de confianza estadística; y presentar dados que indican dicho intervalo de brote-supresión medio en curso a un usuario, proporcionando de este modo a dicho usuario información para guiar el ajuste de terapia para el mantenimiento de un estado de sedación deseado, en el que dicha presentación comprende presentar datos al usuario que indican el intervalo de brote-supresión medio en curso y que también indican el nivel de confianza del intervalo de brote-supresión medio en curso.
