Abstract

Description

TECHNICAL SCOPE

The present invention relates to the general technical scope of medicalized furniture intended to improve patient comfort and to offer assistance to healthcare personnel when performing care.

The present invention relates more particularly to a medical bed that includes a base that rests on the floor and a bed, supported by said base, consisting of a backrest, a seat and a legrest.

PREVIOUS TECHNIQUE

In the medical or paramedical sector it is common to have to accommodate and treat patients who have reduced mobility, for example, after trauma or simply because of their advanced age.

In these cases, the patient is usually forced to remain in bed for prolonged periods.

In order to improve the patient's daily comfort, medicalized beds have been designed that have an articulated bed, which generally includes a backrest, a seat and a legrest whose respective inclinations can be modified so that the bed evolves from a flat intended configuration. at rest until a configuration similar to that of an armchair designed to facilitate some activities such as reading, conversation or even taking meals.

However, the medicalized beds of the prior art, although they offer a certain comfort for the life of the patients, nevertheless suffer from non-negligible inconveniences.

In particular, the articulation mechanisms of existing bed structures, especially if they are motorized, are especially complex, heavy and bulky.

In general, the mechanisms of this type also occupy all the volume located under the bed and therefore can be a hindrance when approaching the bed, both by the patient himself and by the healthcare staff.

Thus, for example, when the patient must move to a wheelchair or even stand up using a verticalizer, the approach to the bed is generally hampered by the fact that wheelchairs or verticalizers collide with the structure of said bed and therefore can only be placed at a certain distance from the bed.

It is then up to the healthcare staff to manipulate the patient, which can cause pain, and even injury to the patient, or even cause back pain to the healthcare staff.

EXHIBITION OF THE INVENTION

The objectives assigned to the present invention are therefore intended to solve the aforementioned drawbacks and propose a new medical bed that guarantees optimum comfort for the user while presenting excellent accessibility.

Another objective assigned to the invention aims to propose a new medical bed whose structure is especially simple, compact and light.

Another objective assigned to the invention aims to propose a new medical bed that has a high versatility, both to meet the needs of the patient and to respond to the implementation commitments or to requirements in the field of care.

Another objective assigned to the invention aims to propose a new medical bed that has an optimized operational safety for the patient and the healthcare staff.

Finally, another objective assigned to the invention aims to propose a new medical bed that is especially robust and stable.

The objectives assigned to the invention are achieved by a medical bed according to claim 1 which includes:

-a base that rests on the ground;

-a bed supported by said base and consisting of a backrest, a seat and a legrest.

PREFERRED WAY TO CARRY OUT THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a medical bed 1 intended to house a patient in order to allow him to rest and / or receive care.

In particular, the medical bed 1 according to the invention can be specifically adapted for hospital use.

For example, the medical bed 1 can be specifically designed for "acute care", such as resuscitation or awakening.

The medical bed 1 can also be adapted for use in stubbornness, and thus form for example a delivery table or even a maternity bed.

On the other hand, the medical bed 1 can obviously be adapted to the bulk of the patient, and in particular designed to house obese patients in the endocrinology services.

Finally, the medical bed 1 can also be adapted, with an option that is possibly simplified from a mechanical point of view and / or more elaborated in the aesthetic plane, for home use by individuals or even in accommodation centers intended for long stays, such as nursing homes or psychiatric establishments.

Thus, the medical bed 1 according to the invention can include, for example, ascending / descending tilting functions, in lateral recumbency, or even different accessories such as portagotero masts, fall barriers, lockers, etc.

The medical bed 1 according to the invention consists of a base 2 that rests on the floor so that it provides stable support for the bed 1.

Obviously, the "base" globally designates the bed pedestal, which may be fixed to, retained by, or supported against, any suitable, fixed or movable support element, such as the floor, wall or ceiling.

On the other hand, the medical bed 1 consists of a bed 3, supported by said base 2, said bed 3 consisting of a backrest 4, a seat 5 and a legrest 6.

According to the invention, the bed 3 extends sufficiently to fully accommodate the patient's body so that the latter can rest, and in particular sleep with acceptable comfort, on said bed 3, as illustrated in Figure 2

Preferably, the bed 3 includes for this a bed base 7, formed for example by a frame provided with slats, by a suspension mesh, or even by a housing in polymer or composite material, said bed base 7 being completely covered or partly by a mattress-type padded support 8.

According to a variant embodiment, the mattress 8 can be basically armed in such a way that it is self-supporting.

To make the description simpler, it will be considered in the text from now on that the bed 1 rests on a flat and horizontal floor, that the bed 3 can adopt at least a practically horizontal configuration in which this allows a patient it lies practically in parallel with the floor and that the bed 1, and more particularly, the bed 3 presents in this case a longitudinal extension direction (XX ') that corresponds practically to the axis of head-foot extension of the patient, as well as a transverse extension direction (YY ') practically perpendicular to the longitudinal extension direction (XX') and forming a plane (P) practically parallel to the ground with the latter.

On the other hand, the base 2 preferably comprises lifting means 10 designed to be able to globally change the altitude of the bed 3, such as a column, crossbar or compass mechanism.

As shown in Figure 4, the base 2 may comprise a lower frame 11 that rests on the floor, for example by means of skates 12, as well as an upper frame 14 to which the bed 3 is attached, placing the lifting means 10 between the lower frame 11 and the upper frame 14 in order to guarantee the vertical mobility of the upper frame 14 with respect to the lower frame 11.

For this reason, it should be noted that the bed 1 according to the invention can be specifically designed for use in shelters for people suffering from different forms of dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease, applications for which the upper face of the bed 3 is preferably located less than 30 cm, and preferably less than 20 cm from the ground in order to limit the consequences of possible falls.

To achieve this, it is considered to place two lifting columns that form practically some forks at the head and at the foot of the bed, protruding from the racks, in order not to obstruct the space under the bed itself 3.

According to a variant embodiment, the frames 11, 14, and in particular the upper frame 14, may be formed by a welded frame consisting of stringers 14L and crossbars 14T that form, for example, a practically flat and rectangular frame , although any other form can be taken into consideration.

According to an important feature of the invention, the medical bed 1 consists of:

- lateral unlocking means in translation movement 20 (hereinafter "unlocking means") designed to allow lateral movement of the legrest 6 with respect to the seat 5, or conversely, the lateral displacement of the seat 5 with respect to the legrests 6, according to a translational movement oriented in a direction practically transverse to the bed 3, so that the front access to said seat 5 is unlocked;

- as well as a means of position adjustment 21 designed to be able to change the position of the seat 5 and / or the legrest 6 with respect to the floor.

Particularly advantageously, a combination of this type of unlocking means 20 and position adjustment means 21 allows the bed 1 according to the invention, as will be explained in detail below, to give the patient one or more comfort adjustments, and especially built-in or sitting positions, while allowing access to the bed to be unlocked when this is necessary, for example when the patient wishes to get up, rest the legs, or even when the healthcare staff wishes to dispense care in the legs.

More precisely, the bed according to the invention is suitable on the one hand to facilitate the patient's access to the bed, and more particularly, to simplify the recovery of the support by the patient when he is raised, and on the other hand to provide to the health personnel a free access to the legs, and especially to the back of the legs of said patient to provide hygienic (toilets) or sanitary care (dressing renewal).

According to the invention, the bed 3 is separated, or at least divisible, along a separation line (II) to one and another part of which the seat 5 has a seat separation edge 5S in front of a 6S legrest edge.

Preferably, the separation line (II) extends over the entire width L2 of the bed, and preferably almost parallel to the transverse extension direction (YY ’) of the bed 1.

Preferably, the starting point of the separation line (II) is between 50% and 80% of the "flat" length L1 of the bed 3 (which is for example equal to 2 meters), preferably between 60% and 75% of said length, and particularly preferably around 72.5% of said length L1. Said proportions therefore correspond to the ratio of the distance measured in plane between the head end of the bed 3 and the seat separation edge 5S by the total length in plane L1 of said bed 3.

In other words, the surface of the legrest preferably represents between 20% and 50% of the surface of the bed 3, preferably between 25% and 40% of said surface, and particularly preferably around 27, 5% of the surface of said bed 3.

In addition, the legrest is preferably constituted in a single piece in the kinematic plane.

Obviously, the seat 5 and the leg rest 6 can be interchangeably together at the level of their respective separation edges or separated by a gap between said separation edges 5S, 6S.

Thus, the front access to the seat 5 is understood, according to the invention, as the possibility of accessing the bed and more specifically to the bed 3, saving the seat separation edge 5S.

According to the invention, the bed 1 can be prepared to allow the exclusive movement of a mobile seat 5 with respect to the base 2 and with respect to a fixed legrest 6 (that is, it cannot be laterally deviated with respect to the base 2 ), or even the exclusive displacement of a movable legrest 6 with respect to the base 2 and with respect to a fixed seat 5, or even the alternative displacement, at the user's choice, of the seat 5 or of the legrest 6.

For this reason, the bed can be provided with selective locking means 15, such as pins, which allow reversibly blocking the movement of the seat 5 and / or the legrest 6 with respect to the base 2, in particular when the element concerned is practically in the vertical of the base 2, and more precisely of the upper frame 14.

The relative translation movement of the seat with respect to the legrest is preferably practically rectilinear.

Furthermore, although the relative lateral unlocking direction of the seat 5 with respect to the leg rest 6 can be positioned obliquely with respect to the transverse extension direction (YY ') of the bed 1, said translational movement is preferably carried out practically parallel to said transverse extension direction (YY '), that is, practically parallel to the ground and orthogonally to the longitudinal extension axis (XX') of the bed 1.

On the other hand, the unlocking means 20 are advantageously provided, according to the invention, with a guide element designed to guarantee the movement in guided lateral translation, according to a predetermined captive path, of the seat 5 and / or of the leg rest 6 .

Preferably, the relative lateral displacement of the legrest 6 with respect to the seat 5 allows the seat separation edge 5S to be discovered at least 50% of its length, which preferably corresponds practically to the width L2 of the bed 3, so particularly preferably at least 66% of its length L2, and even more preferably at least 75%, and even 90% of its length L2.

In other words, the unlocking means 20 according to the invention advantageously allow laterally deflecting the legrest 6 with respect to the seat 5 or, conversely, so that the bed 1 can pass from a first configuration P1, called " grouped configuration ”, represented by continuous strokes in figure 1 and in which the legrest 6 is practically located in the longitudinal extension of the backrest 4 and of the seat 5, to a second configuration P2 called“ unlocking configuration ”, represented by the line of points in Figure 1 and in which the legrest 6 moves laterally with respect to the seat 5 in such a way that it offers direct access to the bed 3.

Advantageously, as illustrated in Figure 3, the side release opens a front passage that allows the patient to pass the legs over the seat separation edge 5S and more precisely over the edge formed between the plane upper seat 5 and the separation edge corresponding to 5S.

In this way, the patient can either let his legs hang freely, in order, for example, to allow health personnel to provide care for the feet and calves, or to rest on the floor again, after having put both knees frontally at the same time above the 5S separating edge, in order to get up.

For this reason, it should be noted that the lateral unlocking means 20, and more generally the bed 1, are arranged in such a way that in an unlocking configuration, the seat 3 is suspended, that is, that the space located in the vertical of said seat 5 behind the separation edge 5S, that is, under the patient's thighs, is unlocked in order to allow the patient to place the feet resting on the floor behind said separation edge 5S, according to a position natural that minimizes the muscular effort that must be made to get out of bed 3.

The lateral unlocking means 20 according to the invention therefore advantageously constitute lifting aids.

On the other hand, it should be noted that, although the lateral unlocking means 20 can be arranged to allow complete separation, for example by disengagement, of the legrest 6 and of the seat 5 in order to make the legrest 6 can be separated from the bed , the lateral unlocking means 20 preferably constitute, by design, a permanent joint that makes the seat 5 cannot be completely separated, in normal operation, from the legrest 6.

By "position", the inclination that forms the plane of the seat 5, on which the patient sits, is referred to with respect to the horizontal reference plane of the floor, with respect to the inclination that the legrest plane 6 forms with respect to the horizontal plane of the ground.

More specifically, the position adjustment means 21 can be adapted to modify the swing angle, that is, the angle formed, in a normal plane in the direction of longitudinal extension (XX '), between the projection of the seat plane 5 and the transverse extension direction (YY ').

Preferably, the position adjustment means 21 for modifying the pitch angle of the seat, that is to say the angle formed, in a normal plane in the transverse extension direction (YY '), by the projection of the seat plane 5 and the direction of longitudinal extension (XX ').

Obviously, the position adjustment means 21 can also be designed so that the position of the legrest 6 can be changed, for example in rocking and preferably in pitching, independently of or in conjunction with the position of the seat 5.

Although the position control function may eventually be carried out from an ascent / descent or lateral decubitus mechanism located between the lower frame 11 and the upper frame 14 and arranged so that the position of the bed 3 as a whole can be changed, the position adjustment means 21 according to the invention will preferably be "own" of the seat and / or of the legrest, that is, different or independent of these mechanisms in order to allow, as will be explained in detail below. , a change in the position of the seat and / or the legrest regardless of the change in position of the other elements that make up bed 3.

In particular, the position adjustment means 21 are preferably designed so that the position of the seat 5 and / or the legrest 6 with respect to the upper frame 14 can be changed.

According to a preferred embodiment variant, the lateral unlocking means in translation movement 20 and the position adjustment means 21 have a common element 22 which is designed to guarantee the lateral displacement guidance of the seat 5 at the same time, with with respect to the legrest 6, and to allow the modification of the position of said seat 5, with respect to said legrest 6.

Particularly advantageously, the common element 22 according to the invention is multifunctional and participates in the kinematic plane in two functions, of lateral unlocking in translational movement on the one hand and of position control on the other hand, which makes it possible to resort to a single and same structure, shared by the unlocking means 20 and the position adjustment means 21, and thus simplifying and lightening the mechanical structure of the bed.

More in particular, the common element 22 may advantageously constitute a support point on the one hand that guarantees the support of the seat 5 and / or the legrest 6, on the other hand allowing the articulation of the seat 5 with respect to the upper frame 14 or even of the legrest 6 with respect to the seat 5, and finally guarantee the translational movement guidance of the seat 5 with respect to the legrest 6 and / or the base 2, respectively of the legrest 6 with respect to the seat 5.

In other words, the common element 22 can advantageously be interposed between the base 2 and the seat 5, or even between the seat 5 and the legrest 6, in accordance with the variant of embodiment considered.

Particularly preferably, as illustrated especially in Figures 5, 6, 7 and 8, the common element 22 forms a sliding pivot joint whose axis (Y1 Y'1) corresponds to the direction of lateral movement of the seat 5 , with respect to the legrest 6, that is, it extends practically parallel to the transverse extension direction (YY ') of the bed 1.

Advantageously, such a solution allows to obtain at the same time, by means of a single and simple mechanical joint, a slide capable of guiding the element of the bed that is movable in a translation movement, and a pivot joint that allows the tilting relative of the seat with respect to the legrest, whose union takes place by said mechanical joint.

Thus, advantageously, a part of the unlocking means 20, and more specifically the guiding part of the unlocking means 20, coincides with a part of the position adjustment means 21, and more particularly is confused with an articulation element of the latter.

More particularly, as illustrated especially in Figures 5 to 7, the common element 22 may consist of a part of a tubular element 23 practically oriented along the axis (Y1 Y'1) of the sliding pivot joint, presenting said tubular element 23 one or more openings 24 made through the thickness of its wall, and, on the other hand, a slide 25, such as a mandrel, arranged to be threaded into said tubular element 23, said slide being provided with one or several protruding elements for fixing 26 designed to pass through the tubular element 23 through the opening (s) 24 in order to join said slide 25 with a mechanical element of the bed, such as for example the seat 5 or the leg rest 6.

Preferably, the tubular element 23 is emptied according to an elongated cylindrical chamber, of circular base, which forms a sleeve that allows the pitching in translational movement and in rotation of the slide 25.

Obviously, the connection between the slide 25 and the tubular element 23 can be carried out by means of one or more plain bearings, ball bushings, roller cages, or by any other equivalent means.

In order to ensure a sufficient unlocking of the seat flange 5S, the opening 24 preferably extends almost parallel to the axis (Y1 Y'1) of the sliding pivot joint and runs mostly, that is, by the minus 50%, preferably at least 75%, and particularly preferably for the entire length of the tubular element 23.

The opening 24 may in particular be formed by a groove parallel to the generating axis of the tubular element.

Advantageously, such an arrangement allows not only to benefit from an important lateral stroke, but also to make the tubular element 23 by means of a stylized section, as illustrated in Figure 9B, and finally to facilitate the assembly and / or the disassembly of the sliding pivot joint for maintenance operations. Advantageously, such a profile can be obtained, for example, by extrusion.

In order to optimize the robustness and precision of the guide, said tubular element 23 will preferably extend over the entire width of the bed 3, and will therefore have a length close to L2.

Preferably, the common element 22 is, on the other hand, integral at least in part with the seat 5.

More specifically, the tubular element 23, or the slide 25, is preferably fixed to the box spring section 7 corresponding to said seat 5.

In this way, the common element 22 is preferably inseparable from the seat 5, and more particularly it has at least one part mounted in connection with the seat 5, so that all degrees of freedom between the seat 5 and the concerned part of common element 22 are deleted.

On the other hand, as illustrated in Figures 2, 4 and 5 to 8, the position adjustment means 21 preferably consist of a popliteal joint 27 which allows the legrest 6 to be tilted with respect to the seat 5.

According to the invention, said popliteal joint 27 is formed by a pivot joint with an axis almost horizontal and parallel to the transverse direction (YY ') of extension of the bed 3, so as to allow the "breakage" of the bed 3 according to a movement that corresponds practically with the natural fold of the knees.

In this way, the bed 1 according to the invention can offer the patient a comfortable position in which the continuity of the bed 3 guarantees a support at the same time at the level of the thighs, by means of the seat 5, and of the calves, by the legrest 6. Advantageously, a comfortable position of this type corresponds to a natural relaxation of the knee joint, and this without contracting the hamstring.

Particularly preferably, the common element 22 forms the popliteal joint 27.

Advantageously, the axis of the popliteal joint 27 can therefore coincide with the axis (Y1Y1 ’) of lateral unlocking.

Preferably, the position adjustment means 21 are designed to allow the user, and especially the patient, to select the tilting angle β formed between the seat 5 and the leg rest 6, preferably at the level of the popliteal joint 27, in an interval between approximately 0º and 60º, and preferably between 0º and 90º.

By convention, the tilting angle β corresponds to the angle formed, in a practically normal plane in the direction of transverse extension (YY '), from the extension prior to the projection of the seat plane 5 towards the projection of the legrest plane 6, as illustrated in figure 4.

It is considered that, as illustrated in Figure 5, the openings 24 made in the tubular element 23 only allow free tilting β between the seat 5 and the leg rest 6 when the bed is in a grouped configuration P1.

Thus, for example, the opening 24 can consist, towards the ends of the tubular element 23, of practically vertical and narrow grooves in which the protruding fixing means 26 can only be introduced when the box spring section corresponding to the leg rest 6 find in the alignment of the box spring section that corresponds to the seat 5.

However, the position adjustment means 21 and the side unlocking means 20 are preferably designed to allow the maintenance of a tilting angle β between the seat 5 and the leg rest 6 which is practically between 50 ° and 70 °, and of Preference practically between 0º and 90º, during the relative lateral displacement of the seat 5 and the legrest 6.

Advantageously, the tilting angle β that is maintained during the relative lateral movement of the seat 5 and the legrest 6 can be freely selected by the user within a predetermined range, which allows a direct transition between the grouped configuration and the configuration unlocking, even when the bed 3 is initially in a comfortable position where the legrest 6 is folded towards the floor with respect to the seat plane 5.

In this regard, according to a particularly preferred embodiment variant, the tubular element 23 may have an opening 24 of greater width than that of the protruding fasteners 26 in such a way as to allow angular oscillation of said fasteners 26.

In particular, as illustrated in Figures 6, 7 or 9B, the tubular element 23 may have a "C" profile having an opening arc 24 whose angle at the center of the profile δ is preferably between 30 ° and 150 °, and particularly preferably between 60 ° and 120 °.

Such a constructive arrangement advantageously allows the application of extended fixing means 26 and in particular that practically covers the entire width L2 of the legrest 6 on the one hand and the entire range of the tubular element 23 on the other hand, guaranteeing the at the same time, the free swinging of the legrest 6 with respect to the seat 5 regardless of the value of the lateral separation between these two elements.

In this way, the robustness of the popliteal joint 27 and the bed base 7 as a whole is simultaneously improved while simplifying and lightening the overall structure of the bed 1.

Advantageously, as illustrated in Figure 9B, the opening 24 of the tubular element, and more particularly the upper edge 23S of the profile will be arranged such that, when the protruding fixing elements 26 meet this, the tilt angle β is greater than or equal to zero. In other words, the common element 22, when it forms the popliteal joint 27, is preferably designed to prevent the inversion of the knee fold, and more particularly to block the oscillation of said popliteal joint 27 beyond the oscillation of the natural knee joint.

On the other hand, it should be noted that the maintenance of a tilting angle β not zero between the seat 5 and the legrest 6 allows advantageously to completely disassociate the edges of the mattress elements 8 corresponding to the separating edges 5S, 6S during the relative lateral displacement of the seat 5 and of the legrest 6, which allows to avoid any friction between said mattresses during the translation movement, and consequently any premature wear, even if these are thick.

According to a preferred embodiment variant, the position adjustment means 21 are designed to allow free selection by the user of the elevation angle α of the seat 5 within a range between 0 ° and 30 °, and preferably practically comprised between -10º and + 45º.

By convention, as illustrated in Figure 4, the elevation angle α is measured, in a normal projection plane in the transverse direction of extension of the bed (YY '), between the horizontal and the projection of the plane of seat 5, and is counted positively in the trigonometric sense.

Preferably, the position adjustment means 21 and the lateral oscillation means 20 are arranged to allow the maintenance of a positive elevation angle α of the seat, preferably between 0 ° and 30 °, during the relative lateral displacement of the seat 5 with with respect to the legrest 6.

In this way, it is possible to proceed advantageously to unlocking the access to the seat 5 by keeping said seat raised, that is, keeping the patient's knees higher than their buttocks so as to hold said patient to prevent any risk of sliding down the bed.

For this, the bed 3, and more particularly the bed base 7, can be provided with reversible connecting elements, respectively fixed in the seat 5 and in the leg rest 6, and for example located practically at the level of the respective separation edges of these last.

Said joining elements are designed to be alternately coupled, according to an association configuration in which they make a mechanical connection, for example of the type of pivoting or articulation (in this case, popliteal), and separated, according to a configuration of dissociation in which the degree or degrees of freedom that had been suppressed in association configuration are restored, that is, in which the direct connection between the seat and the legrest is suppressed.

In accordance with this variant embodiment, it is possible to "start" the legrest on base 2 before the bed goes into the unlocked configuration.

More particularly, it is considered that the legrest 6 can rest on the upper frame 14, and dissociate it from the seat 5, so that the legrest is released (and held) practically flat on said frame while the seat 5 is moved outward.

Advantageously, it is also possible to provide fastening means arranged to oppose the lateral release of the legrest 6 when it is no longer directly connected to the seat 5.

Preferably, according to this variant of this type of embodiment, the seat is provided with its own position adjustment means that allow it to increase its angle of elevation, that is, to swing it slightly backwards in such a way that it raises its separation edge 5S above the 6S separating edge of the legrest when performing the lateral translation movement.

The operation of a bed 1 according to the invention will be briefly described below, in reference to an embodiment variant practically similar to that of Figure 6, but consisting of upper telescopic crossbars 14L (not shown) that allow unlock the space located in the lateral extension of the popliteal joint 27.

During the movement of the carriage 30, it drives the seat 5 and the backrest 4 to which it supports, while the legrest 6 remains fixed, in the vertical of the base 2, held by the frame 45 'of its containment means 40' which it hits the inside of the right crossbar 14L. This results in a relative displacement of the tubular element 23 that progressively unlocks the mandrel 25 sliding along the latter, at a constant height, to accompany the seat.

In this way, the bed 1 according to the invention is of great simplicity, both in its structure and in its use, and guarantees the safety of the patient and the healthcare staff.

In addition, it contributes to improving the quality of life in a medicalized environment, both facilitating the mobility and activity of the patient and making care easier.

In particular, such a bed can offer a true armchair or chair position, in which the patient has perfectly supported his back and buttocks, while benefiting from an unlocking of the back section of his legs.

An arrangement of this type facilitates not only the incorporation of the patient, without causing discomfort to the latter, nor a vitiated lumbar position for the medical staff that helps him, but also offers direct access to the calves and heels so that The caregiver has both hands free to provide care, without the need to lift and keep the patient's legs above the mattress.
