- Skin irritation may be caused by skin-on-skin rubbing or due to direct contact with fabric, such as t-shirt, socks, etc., or other wearables, such as shoes, heart rate monitors, etc. This phenomenon, commonly referred to as chafing, effects millions of people worldwide.
- chafing examples include skin-on-skin rubbing, which mostly effects women who choose to wear skirts with bare legs. While walking, the inner thighs of both legs can rub against each other, which can lead to skin irritation, blisters, discoloration and other unwanted side effects. Chafing may also be due to skin-on-fabric rubbing, which often happens with athletes and people who work out. Hence, the anti-chafing spray compositions can be applied, such as sprayed, as a thin layer or film onto the skin and still achieve the desired effects. Many of the prior art anti-chafing products need comparatively thicker layers and more applied product in order to provide any anti-chafing effect. Secondly, the anti-chafing spray compositions of the embodiments dry very quickly following application onto the skin.

None of the test subjects stated that the anti-chafing spray composition according to Example 1 was greasy. Those test subjects that stated that the anti-chafing spray composition reduced friction applied about half the amount of the anti-chafing spray composition as compared to the amount of applied anti-chafe Sport LUUB.
