    the two layers each have an upper side (OH, OW) and lower side (UH, UW), wherein the sink-in zones (ZH, ZW) are incorporated in the two layers (H, W) in such a way that
    the upper sides has the reduced specific sink-in zone spring strength in the region of the sink-in zones, and
    the lower sides in the region of the sink-in zones has the an average specific sink-in zone spring strength, the strength of which lies between the reduced specific sink-in zone spring strength and the specific spring strength of the respective layer,
    characterized in that

    two different total hardness grades in the region of the sink-in zones can be adjusted solely by turning the upper layer, without changing the upper-side total spring strength of the mattress away from the sink-in zones; and two further different total hardness grades can be adjusted in the region of the sink-in zones solely by turning the lower layer, without changing the upper-side total spring strength of the mattress apart from the sink-in zones;
  4. Mattress according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the mattress is designed such that the layers can be subjected to multiple top-down replacement and turning by the user of the mattress.
  5. Mattress according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a slip resistance is provided which prevents horizontal displacement of the layers relative to one another.
  6. Mattress according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the sink-in zones of the layers are formed by a plurality of cavities extending side by side, in particular parallel next to each other, over the width of the mattress, wherein preferably the cavities are located closer to the upper side of the layers.
  7.     an envelope (20), which can be opened without tools, is provided for enveloping and holding the mattress core formed by the layers; and/or
    the mattress pad (30) is also enveloped and held by the envelope (20).
