Ein derartiges symmetrisches Feuchteprofil läßt sich nicht erreichen, wenn man die Bahn erst am Ausgang der Trockenpartie oder in einem späten Stadium des Trocknens teilt, weil die Ränder einer Bahn in der Regel eine geringere Feuchte aufweisen als die Mitte der Bahn. Wenn jedoch jede Teilbahn komplett oder zumindest weitestgehend einen eigenen Trocknungsverlauf hat, dann trocknen bei jeder Teilbahn beide Ränder annähernd gleich, so daß die so erzeugten Teilbahnen den bisher erzeugten Bahnen weitgehend entsprechen und man die bisher gewonnenen Erkenntnisse für die Weiterbehandlung der Bahn, insbesondere die Satinage der Bahn, ohne weiteres auf die Teilbahnen übertragen kann. Um die Handhabung der Teilbahnen zu erleichtern, schneidet man am Ende der Trockenpartie dann aus jeder Teilbahn einen Einführstreifen, so daß es möglich ist, jede Teilbahn für sich weiterzubehandeln, beispielsweise aufzuwickeln oder zu satinieren.
