Definitions

  • the invention relates to a conveyor for feeding a processing device with printed products, with which the printed products on a conveying path through a first conveyor from a stack, in which the printed products are arranged standing, to a higher rotational speed than the first conveyor having second conveyor to form a Scales formation are transported offset upwards, wherein in a formed by the conveying end of the first and the start of delivery of the second conveyor transfer area acting on the printed products, formed from at least one circulating pulling means hold-down device is arranged.
  • Devices of the type mentioned are used for feeding investors magazines on gathering machines, saddle stitchers and insertion machines with printed products in companies of print finishing.
  • printed products are products such as printed sheets, cards, CD / DVD-ROM, flat Patterns, etc. whose dimensions may vary within a wide format range.
  • the conveyor is loaded with the printed products to be processed. Depending on the type of delivery of the printed products, the loading is done for example by hand or by means of lifting equipment. Subsequently, the printed products are in the form of a horizontal stack on one of its side edges on an approximately horizontally extending first conveyor, which feeds the printed products demand-controlled a downstream second conveyor.
  • This second conveyor has the task of converting the stack-shaped formation of the printed products on the first conveyor into a scale-like formation and then feeding the printed products in this preferred formation to a magazine of a processing machine.
  • the first conveyor forms an obtuse angle with the second conveyor and the speed of the second conveyor is substantially higher than that of the first conveyor.
  • the scaly function is based on the friction principle. The aim is to create as even as possible scaling in order to achieve the best conditions for optimal functioning of the feeder of the processing machine.
  • the uniformity should be such that adjoining printed sheets are at least shifted against each other and no gaps are formed in the imbricated formation.
  • the printed products must not be drawn obliquely with respect to the conveying direction during flaking.
  • the formation of the scale from the horizontal stack thus forms the central function of a conveyor.
  • other organs and functions are required, which support the effect of the two promoters.
  • the first conveyor driven conveying elements can be on both sides of the stack gans in the form of rolls, belts or chains, which slightly compress the printed products transversely to their conveying direction resp. vorsepar Schl.
  • a hold-down device of a plurality of circumferentially driven traction means is provided, which respectively over the end region of the first conveyor resp. extends to the inclined front portion of the second conveyor and presses the printed products at the upper side edges thereof in detection against the lower conveyor element of the first conveyor and the front section of the second conveyor.
  • the hold-down device Since the conveying plane formed by the first conveyor is fixedly defined, the hold-down device must be adapted to the height of the printed products and also to the thickness of the generated scale flow. This results in a hold-down device according to the prior art, an adjustment of the position of the hold-down device in two axes. This setting is time-consuming and critical because it significantly affects dandruff. In addition, the settings in operation, for example, when the shoe thickness is adjusted as a result of changing the speed ratio between the first and second conveyor, must be adapted to the changing circumstances.
  • the pre-published DE 101 35 661 A1 relates to a device for feeding an investor magazine in further processing machines such as saddle stitchers or gathering machines for signatures, sheets, booklets or the like.
  • Printed products with a first, level conveyor for moving stacked printed products standing on one edge and with a second downstream of the first conveyor, initially inclined ascending conveyor for removal the printed products from the stack on the first conveyor into an imbricated formation and for transferring the scale to the feeder magazine.
  • Object of the present invention is to design a hold-down device so that no adjustment with changing height of the printed products and the thickness of the scale flow is more necessary so that they can automatically adapt to the changed operating conditions.
  • the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 show a conveyor 1, which has a first conveyor 2 and a second conveyor 3, and a processing device 6, the magazine 7 is fed by the conveyor 1 with printed products 5.
  • the printed products 5 are usually in the form of strapped rods 10 (FIG. Fig. 3 ) and thus loaded the first conveyor 2.
  • a rod 10 corresponds to a long stack of printed products 5, which is completed at both ends with a end board 12 and provided with a strapping 11.
  • the printed products 5 are at one of their side edges 13 on a first circumferentially driven conveyor 8 of the first conveyor 2.
  • Lateral guide elements 21,22 facilitate settling of the printed products 5 in the correct lateral position and prevent lateral slippage during the promotion in the direction v.
  • the printed products 5 are slightly clamped laterally by driven conveyor members 14,15 and transported at approximately the speed of the conveyor 8 in the direction v on. By this type of transport, the printed products 5 are arcuately deformed and any existing adhesion between the individual printed products 5 is degraded.
  • the printed products 5 lie with their flat side at least in the region of their central axis 35 on the lower conveyor part 24 of the second conveyor 3, for example a belt conveyor.
  • the conveying direction v of the first conveyor 2 forms an obtuse angle ⁇ with the conveying direction x of the second conveyor 3.
  • a pressure force build-up is effected by the conveying action of the conveying element 25 of the first conveyor 2, which advances the printed products 5 against the lower conveying part 24.
  • the printed products 5 are pressed against the lower conveying part 24 by the traction means 9, for example a chain, forming a holding-down device 16.
  • the foremost printed product begins 5 also to move in the direction of x.
  • the conveying effects of the hold-down device 16 and the lower conveyor part 24 on the printed products 5 are based exclusively on frictional forces.
  • the normal forces required for the construction of these frictional forces are substantially applied by the hold-down device 16.
  • the traction means 9 of the hold-down device 16 is driven via a mounted on a shaft 23 drive wheel 30 in the direction y.
  • the speed of the hold-down device 16 is at least as high as the speed of the lower conveyor part 24.
  • the shaft 23 is rotatably mounted in the basic structure 4 and driven by a drive, not shown.
  • the auxiliary strand 33 of the traction means 9 slides by its own weight on the traction means guide 28 in the direction of the first conveyor 2 and is there by its own weight on the upper side edge 13 of the printed products 5 on.
  • At least one sliding shoe 18, which rests permanently on the upper side edges 13 of the printed products 5 in the first conveyor 2 and thereby keeps the position of the traction mechanism guide 28 constant relative to the upper side edges 13 of the printed products 5, is fastened to the traction mechanism guide 28. It is conceivable to provide, instead of the sliding shoe 18, a freely rotatable wheel which rolls on the upper side edges 13 of the printed products 5 and is mounted on the traction mechanism guide 28. The Buchstoff Installation 28 is stored freely.
  • a preferred embodiment of the bearing results when the traction means guide 28 is mounted on the shaft 23 and thus can pivot about the axis 29 of the shaft 23. However, other positions of the pivot axis 29 are conceivable.
  • a weight 19 is provided, which move in the direction w on a fixed to the Switzerlandstoff Adjustment 28 lever 17 leaves and can be secured in the selected position with a lock 20, such as a locking screw.
  • a lock 20 such as a locking screw.
  • the contact force F of the shoe 18 is increased or decreased.
  • the same effect could be achieved, for example, by the use of all types of spring elements, pneumatic cylinders or electric drives.
  • the inventive solution is characterized by a simple operation and self-adjustment of the hold-down device on the format-dependent position of the upper side edges of the printed products 5 and the thickness of the resulting scale flow.
  • the flexurally soft traction device can conform to any desired formation of the upper side edges 13 of the printed products 5 in the transfer region 31 and results in an advantageous distribution of the contact forces of the traction device 9 on the printed products 5.
