Claims (8)

  1. Door fitting for actuating a door, particularly a motor vehicle door, from outside,
    having a handle (15) adapted to be gripped manually, on the outside (34) of exterior door panelling (35), said handle being hinged about a bearing spindle (40) which is mounted substantially parallel or inclined to the extent of the handle,
    having a support (25) secured to the inside (36) of the exterior door panelling (35), providing a mounting for the bearing spindle (40) of the handle (15),
    having two knee levers extending between the handle (15) and the bearing spindle (40), which consist of lever arms (11, 21; 12, 22) adapted to be coupled together in pairs,
    where one pair of lever arms (11, 12), to be regarded as handle arms, are fixedly located on each of the two handle ends and the other pair of lever arms (21, 22), to be regarded as support arms, are pre-assembled on the bearing spindle (40) and form a structural unit (20) with the support (25),
    the support arms (21, 22) being spring-loaded in accordance with a hinged action of the handle (15) towards the exterior door panelling (35),
    said door fitting optionally having a cover (33) secured close to one end (13) of the handle (15) on the support (25), said cover containing functional components if required, such as a lock cylinder (31) or push button,
    the two handle arms (11, 12) being threaded through two openings (37, 38) in the exterior door panelling (35) and coupled successively to the associated support arms (21, 22) on the inside of the door, when the fitting is mounted from the outside of the door (34),
    specifically in the order of the coupling means (41, 42) of the front knee lever (11, 21) remote from the cover (33) first of all, followed by the coupling means (51, 52) of the rear knee lever (12, 22) adjacent to the cover,
    and the position of engagement of the coupling means (51, 52) on the rear knee lever (12, 22) is secured by a screw (60),
    characterised in that
    the coupling means of the rear knee lever (12, 22) are formed by plug and socket members (51, 52), the position of insertion of which is secured by the screw (60), which is to be regarded as a securing screw,
    in that a plug socket open substantially perpendicularly to the plane of the door is associated with the plug member provided on the other handle arm (12),
    in that the securing screw (60) in the support arm (22) can be tightened and when secured engages in the plug socket (52),
    and in that, prior to the coupling of the plug and socket members (51, 52), the securing screw (60) has the further function of holding the spring-loaded support arms (21, 22) in a defined pre-assembly position relative to the support (25).
  2. Fitting according to claim 1, characterised in that the screw recess for the securing screw (60) consists of a through-bore (47) in the support arm (22) which passes through the plug socket (52),
    in that the securing screw (60) can be screwed in until its inner end (61) projects out of the support arm (62) and comes to abut on a shoulder (53) of the support (25), in its screwed-in position,
    in that in its screwed-in position the securing screw (60) is located with its outer end (63) outside the receiving profile (58) in the plug socket (52) and allows the plug member (51) to be inserted (46),
    in that the plug member (51) has an opening (66) for the outer end (63) of the securing screw (60),
    in that in its pushed out position the securing screw (60) engages with its outer end (63) in the opening (66) and fixes the plug member (51) in the plug socket (52).
  3. Fitting according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the securing screw (60), on the one hand, and its bore (47) in the support arm or the opening (66) in the plug member (51) of the handle arm (15), on the other hand, have end stops (62, 48; 62, 67),
    which delimit the screwed-in position and/or unscrewed position of the securing screw (60).
  4. Fitting according to claim 3, characterised in that the end stops on the screw side consist of a flange (62) on the securing screw (60).
  5. Fitting according to claim 4, characterised in that on the outer end (63) of the securing screw (60) there is an end portion (64) in front of the flange (62), which projects into the interior of the plug socket (52) in the screwed-in position,
    and in that the plug member is profiled and its profile comprises a longitudinal groove (59) extending in the direction of insertion, the groove depth being greater than or equal to the protruding end portion (64) of the screw.
  6. Fitting according to claim 5, characterised in that between the flange (62) and the end portion (64) of the securing screw (60) there is a conical transition (65) which moves into the opening (66) in the handle arm (12) in self-centring manner when the securing screw (60) is unscrewed into its unscrewed position.
  7. Fitting according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the wall of the plug socket (52) opposite the screw recess (47) in the support arm (22) has a hole (56) for a rotary tool
    and in that the rotary tool can be inserted through the hole (56) as far as a rotary actuation point at the outer end (63) of the securing screw (60).
  8. Fitting according to claim 7, characterised in that there is access for the rotary tool in the rebate area of the door
