Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a ski provided for the practice of alpine skiing.
In known manner, each ski of a pair of skis is in the form of an elongate beam having, due to its structure, a rigidity defined in flexion and torsion.
In order to better control the distribution of pressure of the ski on the snow, it is known to vary the stiffness in flexion and / or torsion of the ski along the ski. Thus, the
The patent application WO 91/09653 discloses a ski whose two zones immediately in front and behind the shoe are raised and reinforced so as to produce a regular curvature of the ski in the presence of the shoe.
The patent application WO 99/43397 describes for its part a short ski whose torsional and flexural rigidity is controlled geometrically by a reinforcement of variable width extending in the front and rear zones of the ski.
Such constructions show that it is possible to control the torsional and flexural stiffness of a ski in its different zones.
In view of this, the invention proposes another method of controlling the bending and twisting of the ski according to which two adjacent zones of the ski are cut in flexion and / or in torsion by locally modifying the structure of the ski at the common boundary of the ski. these two areas.
The general idea of the invention is based on a torsional and / or flexural decoupling of two adjacent zones of the ski, that is to say a local bending and / or torsional weakening in a deformation zone between two adjacent zones which themselves have rigidities in bending and / or torsion identical or almost identical on both sides of the deformation zone.
Le problème de l'invention est résolu par la fourniture d'un ski selon la revendication 1.The problem of the invention is solved by the provision of a ski according to claim 1.
Thus the ski according to the invention is an elongate beam comprising a central zone and two ends forming the spatula and the heel, the beam having on the one hand a structure comprising a core and upper and lower reinforcement layers, and on the other hand determined sectional dimensions which give it a bending and torsion distribution determined over its length.
The ski is characterized in that at least one of the elements of its structure has at least one local notch which creates a local zone of deformation between the ski zones located upstream and downstream of the notch.

Figures 1 and 2 relate to a first embodiment of the invention. The ski 1 which is shown is formed by an elongated beam having a
Seen from the side the ski is arched, which defines to each of its ends of the contact lines marked 7 and 8. These lines are the contact areas of the sole 9 of the ski at rest with a flat surface.
The other characteristic dimensions of the ski are its length in development which is of the order of 1.50 meters to 2 meters, these values being only indicative, the length between lines of contact, the maximum widths in spatula and the heel , the minimum width in the central zone as well as the dimension line, that is to say the curve followed by the edges. Thickness is also a characteristic dimension. It can vary on the length and the width of the beam of the ski.
The general structure of the ski 1 is of a traditional type. Figure 3 schematically shows such a structure. It is formed by two
The structure of the ski gives the ski rigidity characteristics in flexion and torsion which determine the skiing behavior of the ski and its reaction to the requests from the skier or the terrain.
It is customary to vary the stiffness in flexion or torsion of the ski along its length. Thus, usually the central zone is more rigid than the end zones. This variation is generally progressive so as to promote a regular bending of the beam of the ski.
In addition to this variable distribution of flexion and torsion along the ski, the invention provides for creating locally on the length of the ski at least one elastic deformation zone so as to uncouple in flexion and / or torsion the ski areas located upstream and downstream of this deformation zone. This deformation zone creates a sudden break in the bending and / or torsion distribution along the beam of the ski.
Thus, according to the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 1, the structure of the ski has been modified in two zones marked at 20, 21 so as to create a
Différents modes de constructions peuvent être adoptés pour réaliser là zone locale de déformation 22.Different modes of construction can be adopted to achieve the local area of
Figure 5 illustrates one of them. It represents the core 15, which is for example a machined wood core, in which two
Once the core covered with its reinforcing layers, the ski has two
Also, it has been determined that preferably each of the cuts is made over a length of the core varying between 20 and 150 millimeters, preferably 100 millimeters, and a width greater than 6 millimeters and less than half the width of the core in this zone minus 5 millimeters, so as to leave at the center a width of at least 10 millimeters where the nucleus retains its initial thickness.
The
In particular, the minimum thickness in the bottom of the recesses is substantially equal to the height of the edges plus the thickness of the upper layers covering the core.
The recesses are connected to the rest of the ski structure by connection surfaces which can extend over a greater or lesser extent.
Alternatively, instead of being made over the entire thickness of the core, the notches could be made on only part of its thickness. However, it was determined that the cuts should have a depth of at least half the thickness of the core in this area. Such a core 15 'is shown in section in Figure 6 thus giving rise to two
Another embodiment of the local deformation zone is illustrated in FIG. 7. This figure represents one of the upper reinforcement layers. This
Laterally, the
If the reinforcing
For this lower layer, the internal volume of the cuts can be filled if necessary with a filling material.
These different modes of construction relating to the core, and the lower or upper reinforcement layers can be used alone or in combination. In addition we could adopt different construction methods for each side of the ski.
The local deformation zone can be located in different regions of the ski. Preferred areas are the front and back of the area where the restraints are assembled, and the proximity of the front and rear contact lines. There may be several zones of deformation distributed on the front and / or back of the ski, or even a succession of deformation zones in one or more regions of the ski.
Thus, on the front and / or rear, the spatula and / or the heel are more free to rise relative to this local area of deformation.
Dans ce cas, l'entaille s'étend sur une largeur du ski qui est doublée par rapport aux entailles élémentaires précédemment décrites.FIG. 9 relates to an alternative embodiment of the invention according to which the local zone of deformation is formed by a
According to Figure 10, the structure of the ski has two
Figure 11 relates to another embodiment of the invention. Instead of being located along a side edge of the ski, the
Naturellement la présente description n'est donnée qu'à titre indicatif, et l'on pourrait adopter d'autres mises en oeuvre de l'invention sans pour autant sortir du cadre de celle-ci.Naturally the present description is given only as an indication, and one could adopt other implementations of the invention without departing from the scope thereof.

- Ski in the form of an elongated beam comprising a central zone (2) and two ends (3, 4) forming the shovel and the tail, the beam having a structure comprising a core (15, 15') and upper and lower reinforcing layers (12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 36, 40), on the one hand, and predetermined cross-sectional dimensions, which give it a predetermined distribution of flexing and torsion over its length, on the other hand, wherein at least one of the elements of its structure (15, 15', 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 36, 40) has at least one local cutout (27, 28, 38, 39, 41, 42), characterized in that the local cutout affects the structure of at least one of the reinforcement layers (12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 36, 40), and creates a local deformation zone (22) between the zones of the ski (23, 24) located upstream and downstream said cutout.
- Ski according to claim 1, characterized in that each local cutout (27, 28, 38, 39, 41, 42) extends over a length of the ski comprised between 20 and 150 millimeters.
- Ski according to claim 2, characterized in that each local cutout (27, 28, 38, 39, 41, 42) extends over a width of the ski greater than 6 millimeters and smaller than half of the width of the ski minus 5 millimeters.
- Ski according to claim 3, characterized in that the core (15, 15') has at least one cutout (27, 28).
- Ski according to claim 4, characterized in that the cutout (27, 28) extends over at least half of the width of the core.
- Ski according to claim 4, characterized in that the cutout extends through the entire width of the core.
- Ski according to claim 3, characterized in that the cutout (27, 28, 38, 39, 41, 42) has an incurved shape.
- Ski according to claim 3, characterized in that the cutout has a triangular or elliptical shape.
- Ski according to claim 3, characterized in that the cutout it comprises at least two cutouts, one along each edge, the cutouts being offset with respect to a longitudinal direction of the ski.
- Ski according to claim 1, characterized in that the cutout (50) is centered on the longitudinal axis of the ski.
