Description

The present invention relates to the field of small projectors commonly called spots, more particularly intended to be mounted on a stretch ceiling, that is to say a ceiling consisting of a plastic membrane, usually polyvinyl chloride, mounted under tension by appropriate means.

It is now more and more common to mount light bulbs or spotlights directly into the ceiling. In this case the bulb is substantially flush with the plane of the ceiling, being surrounded by an annular collar intended to ensure the aesthetic finish of the hole made in the ceiling for the implantation of the bulb.

In the case of a stretched ceiling, the installation of a spot is carried out thanks firstly to a reinforcing ring and secondly thanks to a structural element commonly referred to as a spot table. The reinforcement washer is glued on the visible face of the stretched ceiling. It has an annular shape with a circular inner recess on which is made the drilling of the membrane constituting the ceiling. The reinforcing washer serves mainly to prevent the possible deterioration of the membrane during cutting of the passage opening of the bulb.

As for the structural element, called spot table, it is rigidly fixed above the stretched ceiling. It supports the electrical transformer and has a plate just at the non-visible face of the stretched ceiling, said plate itself being partially recessed to allow the passage of the bulb.

For fixing over the reinforcing washer, the flange of the spot is equipped with clipping means adapted to come down on the back of the plate of the structural element. Thus the collar and the bulb, after introduction and clipping thereof on the collar, are supported by the fixed structure element.

The disadvantage of this solution lies mainly in the obligation to set up a structural element to be fixed rigidly, which complicates and makes more expensive the mounting of spots. In addition disassembly of a spot is not very easy since after disassembly of the bulb must have access to the means of elipsage which are on the reverse side of the plate of the structural element.

A simpler solution has already been proposed according to which the flange of the spot is not supported by a fixed element of structure but is supported by the stretched ceiling itself. According to this solution, the flange of the spot is provided with folding tabs. These tongues have a first position in which they penetrate inside the opening of passage made in the ceiling stretched in the central part of the reinforcing washer and a second position in which they are folded on the back face of the stretched ceiling, in the area glued to the reinforcement washer. It is in this second position that we have the maintenance in place of the flange of the spot, supported by the ceiling stretched at the level of the reinforcement washer.

However, this new solution is not totally satisfactory. Indeed the realization of a flange with flip-flops makes it more complex manufacturing thereof. In addition the removal of a flange already installed on a stretch ceiling is difficult since access to the folded tabs is possible through the central recess of the flange. Finally, during the handling of the tongues, they can break at the hinge area.

The aim of the applicant is to propose a set of mounting a self-supporting spot on a stretch ceiling that overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks.

This object is perfectly achieved by the assembly of the invention which comprises, in a known manner, a reinforcing washer bonded to the membrane forming the ceiling and a spot comprising at least one bulb and a spot collar that can be attached to the reinforcement washer. . Characteristically, according to the invention, the spot flange comprises first securing means and the reinforcing ring comprises second securing means, said first and second means being able to cooperate, reversibly, during the angular pivoting of the flange relative to the washer for locking and unlocking.

Thus, according to the particular embodiment of the invention, it suffices to apply the spot flange to the reinforcing washer and to perform an angular pivoting of said flange with respect to the axis of symmetry of the washer to obtain a position locking. The unlocking position is effected by angular pivoting of the same value in the opposite direction.

The spot collar having an annular flat face and having at least one transverse shoulder and the reinforcing ring, of annular flat shape, being adjusted with clearance to be housed in said transverse shoulder against the flat face forming the bottom of the collar, preferably the first securing means consist of at least one lug protruding outwardly from the transverse shoulder of the flange, the second means consist, for each lug, an inner cutout configured to allow the passage of the pin during the installation of the collar over the reinforcing washer; moreover the lug is located at a distance H from the bottom of the collar, which distance is substantially greater than the thickness e of the reinforcing washer.

In this case, it is the lug which, after having penetrated through the cut, is placed over the reinforcing washer after the angular pivoting and carries the suspension of the collar on the reinforcing washer.

So that this suspension is balanced, it is preferable that there are two lugs and two cutouts, arranged diametrically with respect to the axis of symmetry of the collar and the reinforcing washer.

There may of course be a greater number of lugs and cutouts, which will in this case be symmetrically arranged with respect to the axis of the collar and the washer. This symmetrical distribution is preferred to obtain a homogeneous distribution of the weight of the spot on the reinforcement washer. However, it may also be preferred to retain a non-symmetrical distribution, if one wishes to favor a precise positioning of the flange relative to the washer, in a specific orientation.

According to a preferred embodiment, the lug has an inclined face for friction against the washer during angular pivoting. This inclined face is intended to achieve the jamming of the collar by compensating for the clearance between said collar and the reinforcing washer.

In a particular embodiment, the lug has a generally conical shape and is obtained by embossing the constituent metal of the collar.

The flange generally has two transverse shoulders, one inside terminated by a flange, which serves as housing for the bulb, and the other outside which can hide the reinforcing washer. Preferably the outer shoulder has a height h which is less than the thickness e of the washer. Thanks to this particular arrangement, this outer shoulder never comes into contact with the stretched ceiling, which avoids the possible risks of melting of the membrane constituting the stretched ceiling, especially when it is made of polyvinyl chloride, because of the heating of the spot collar which can intervene when the bulb remains lit continuously.

The present invention will be better understood on reading the description which will be given of a preferred embodiment of an assembly for mounting a self-supporting spot on a stretch ceiling, illustrated by the appended drawing in which:
  • FIG. 1 is a plan view from below of a spot flange equipped with two lugs,

  • FIG. 6 schematically represents the spot collar of FIG. 5 after placement and angular pivoting, and

A self-supporting spot for stretched ceiling comprises a bulb, not shown, which snaps into a spot collar 1, which collar is securable to a reinforcing ring 2, itself glued on the membrane 4 intended to constitute the stretched ceiling. The flange 1 comprises a substantially annular flat face 3, which is the visible face when the spot is placed on the stretched ceiling. This annular face 3 is flanked by two transverse shoulders 5,6 that is to say two shoulders which are substantially perpendicular to the plane of the face 3 and thus the stretched ceiling. It is an inner shoulder 5 which is terminated by a flange 10a, which serves as a housing for the bulb, and an outer shoulder 6 which serves as a cover of the reinforcing washer as will be apparent from the explanations herein. -after.

The reinforcing washer 2 is also annular in shape. It is for example in a rigid plastic material, such as polycarbonate. Its annular shape is determined so that the said ring 2 can be disposed without constraint, with clearance, inside the space 7 which is bounded between the two shoulders 5, 6 and the bottom 3a of the flange 1.

Characteristically according to the invention, the inner shoulder 5 of the flange 1 is provided with two lugs 8, obtained for example by embossing the constituent metal of said flange 1. Each lug is formed at a distance H from the bottom 3 a of the collar 1, distance H which is substantially greater than the thickness e of the washer 2, possibly including that of the membrane 4 forming the stretched ceiling.

The washer 2 has two internal cuts 9 which are determined so as to allow the passage of the lugs 8 during the placement of the flange 1 on the reinforcing washer 2. By against the diameter D1 of the inner recess 10b of the washer has a a value which is greater than the outside diameter D2 of the inner shoulder 5 but which is smaller than the distance D3 between the two points 8a of the two lugs 8.

On réalise ensuite la découpe de la membrane selon l'évidement central 10b de chaque rondelle de renfort 2 de manière à dégager l'ouverture de passage pour la collerette 1 et l'ampoule (figure 4).In practice, the reinforcing rings 2 are previously glued on the face 4a of the membrane 4, at the locations provided for the implantation of the self-supporting spots (Figure 3). The membrane is then cut according to the central recess 10b of each reinforcing washer 2 so as to clear the passage opening for the flange 1 and the bulb (FIG. 4).

The establishment of the flange 1 is illustrated in Figures 5 and 6. The flange 1 is positioned so that the lugs 8 are in line with the internal cutouts 9, the flange 1 is applied against the reinforcing washer 2 until complete introduction of the lugs 8 through the cutouts 9 and until the upper face 2a of the washer bears against the bottom 3a of the flange 1. The angular pivoting of the flange is then carried out relative to the axis DD 'of symmetry of the washer 2. This provides the passage of the lug 8 over the reinforcing washer 2 and optionally the membrane portion 4 bonded to said washer 2, which achieves the suspension of the flange 1 on the stretched ceiling.

Dans ce même exemple le diamètre intérieur D1 de l'évidement intérieur de la rondelle 2 était de l'ordre de 55mm, le diamètre extérieur D2 de l'épaulement 5 était de l'ordre de 53mm, la distance D3 entre les pointes 8a des deux ergots 8 était de l'ordre de 58mm et la distance D4 entre les fonds 9a des deux découpes 9 de la rondelle 2 était de l'ordre de 60mm.Preferably, as illustrated in the figures, particularly to Figure 7, the pin 8 has an inclined face 8 b toward the bottom 3a of the flange 1, this inclined face being obtained for example by a conical spinning metal wherein is performed said flange 1. in the example illustrated in Figure 7, the angle α of inclination of the inclined face 8b with respect to the shoulder 5 is of the order of 45 °, to a lug 8 which is projecting on a height d of the order of 3mm. In the same example, the internal diameter D1 of the inner recess of the washer 2 was of the order of 55 mm, the outside diameter D2 of the shoulder 5 was of the order of 53 mm, the distance D3 between the tips 8 a two pins 8 was of the order of 58mm and the distance D4 between the funds 9 has two cutouts 9 of the washer 2 was of the order of 60mm.

La hauteur H, c'est-à-dire la distance séparant la pointe 8a de l'ergot 8 et le fond 3a de la collerette 1 était de l'ordre de 6mm tandis que l'épaisseur e de la rondelle 2, incluant éventuellement l'épaisseur de la membrane 4 collée sur ladite rondelle 2 était de l'ordre de 5mm.The height H, that is to say the distance separating the tip 8a , the pin 8 and the bottom 3 has the flange 1 was about 6 mm while the thickness e of the washer 2, optionally including the thickness of the membrane 4 adhered to said washer 2 was of the order of 5mm.

It is understood that, under these conditions, after introduction of the inner shoulder 5 of the flange through the central recess 10b of the washer, the tip 8 has lugs 8 protruding just above the back of the washer or the stretched ceiling. During angular pivoting of the collar 1, the sloping faces 8b of the two lugs bear against the upper edge 11 of the wafer 2, that is to say one that is at the membrane 4 and according the inner recess 10b of the washer 2. The locking in position of the flange 1 is thus obtained by jamming the lugs 8 against said ridge 11. This wedging can occur with an angular pivoting of different angle between the washers and the flanges, according to manufacturing tolerances. That is the inclined surface 8b which allows the necessary adjustments to meet manufacturing tolerances.

It should be noted that the tension to which the membrane 4 is subjected during the laying of the stretched ceiling is sufficient so that there is no risk of deformation of said ceiling not only because of the suspension of the spot but also during angular pivoting of the flange for locking and unlocking relative to the reinforcing washer.

Cette hauteur h est inférieure à l'épaisseur e de la rondelle 2.As is clear from Figure 6, it is preferred that the height h of the outer shoulder 6 of the collar is such that there is no contact between said shoulder 6 and the membrane 4, so as to avoid any risk of degradation of said membrane in case of heating of the metal collar 1 due to the prolonged lighting of the spot. This height h is less than the thickness e of the washer 2.

The present invention is not limited to the precise mode of which has been given as a non-exhaustive example. In particular other locking systems, by angular pivoting could be retained, for example by analogy with the bayonet sockets.
