Description
The invention relates to a conveyor for transferring filter rods Tobacco processing industry from a filter manufacturing machine to further processing facilities, with a multi-layer filter rod mass flow, a transport route comprising a storage volume that breathes.
In conventional facilities, the storage volume of the transport line mentioned at the outset consists of a buffer line to compensate for time-limited operational differences in performance between filter production and processing or malfunctions of the connected machines, and a filter curing line in order to produce tiny droplets on the fiber material (cellulose acetate) during filter rod production. sprayed-on plasticizer (triacetin) to cure, this first dissolving the filter fibers, glued to one another and then diffusing into the cellulose acetate and thereby solidifying the bond points.
This process, which usually takes place at room temperature, determines the residence time of the filter rods in the transport path and thus also their absorption capacity, ie their length at a defined multilayer height.
The invention has for its object the structural complexity and scope for to reduce said storage volume.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that a microwave heating system which continuously flows through the multi-layer filter rod mass flow is integrated into the transport path.
The heating of the filter rods caused by the microwave action can be used most effectively in favor of the curing process according to a further development in that the microwave heating system is arranged upstream of the breathing storage volume - based on the conveying direction - so that a curing time of 50 ° C is generated at a generated filter rod temperature two minutes in which the storage volume is reduced to a buffer section only.
According to a further proposal, the arrangement is such that the microwave heating system is arranged between the multi-layer breathing storage volume and the filter production machine delivering the filter rods in one layer transversely axially, whereby the operator can easily access the microwave heating system in the front of the production line.
Defined guidance of the multi-layer filter rod mass flow and reliable control and compliance with the heating process or the temperature level is achieved according to a further development in that the transport path within the microwave heating system is formed by the filter rod mass flow on the top and bottom leading conveyor belts.
A further development serves for uniform, penetrating heating of the filter rod mass flow in that the microwave heating system is equipped with the filter rod mass flow on microwave modules irradiating opposite longitudinal sides formed by the peripheral surfaces of the filter rods.
In order to adapt the intensity of the microwave radiation to the current operating conditions in order to maintain a defined heating of the filter rod mass flow, it is further proposed that the microwave modules can be controlled by a pulse generator that responds to the machine speed of the filter manufacturing machine.
According to a variant, it is proposed that the microwave modules are operatively connected to a selection generator that can be controlled as a function of the machine speed of the filter manufacturing machine, so that, for example, with a reduced mass flow throughput through the microwave system, one or more microwave modules can be switched off in order to maintain a uniform temperature of the filter rod mass flow.
Alternatively, both the pulse generator and the selection generator can have a signal connection with a contactless temperature sensor aligned with the filter rod mass flow for the purpose of controlling the effect of heat and thus maintaining the temperature of the mass flow, according to a further proposal of the pulse generator and / or the selection generator. Such a temperature sensor is expediently aligned with a long side of the filter rod mass flow formed by the end faces of the filter rods.
The advantage achieved by the invention is that the curing of the Triacetin sprayed cellulose acetate filter rods is greatly accelerated so that the curing time required for further processing of the filters to a minimum is shortened. This enables a significant saving of space because of the curing section can be omitted, so that the capacity of the storage volume on the Buffer section is reduced.
In addition, the production speed of the filter rods can be inertia be adapted to the needs. After a break in operation of the filter manufacturing machine there are immediately reprocessable filter rods available, what particularly in the case of a further increase in the performance of the processing facilities has an advantageous effect.

13 in Wirkverbindung steht.
