Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrical connector with a device attached contact element, a matching mating contact and one Guide device that the contact element when merging into the corresponding Position to the counter contact.
- Circuits are usually made using cables, wires and wires with sensors, Actuators and similar devices electrically connected.
- lines and cables for example in a motor vehicle, to a cable harness summarized.
- the disadvantage is that the cable lines are loose within or are laid outside of a housing so that the cable harness especially when retrofitted.
- make up the free running cables have a large EMC path (electromagnetic Compatibility) so that interfering signals couple into the lines can.
- Electrical connectors for example plugs
- plugs are known to make assembly easier and bushings, with insertion bevels to make it easier to find Plugging together is achievable.
- the plugs and sockets are firmly attached to the respective devices are installed or attached, there is the disadvantage that the Devices must be aligned so that the plug and the Socket are arranged with parallel longitudinal axes. Aligning the Devices in the appropriate position to each other and the correct position Merging leads to considerable costs and personnel expenses at Production, for example in the field of automotive technology.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of an electrical connector to design and further develop the type mentioned at the outset such that the Contact element and the matching counter contact when joining automatically find and positional tolerances between contact element and Counter contact can be compensated.
- the contact element consists at least in sections of a elastic material, so that position tolerances between the contact element and the Counter contact can be compensated.
- position tolerances automatically compensate if the contact element at least in sections from an elastic material consists. This is done by the guide when assembling it into the corresponding one Position brought to the counter contact can by the elastic Adjust the material to the required position in relation to the counter contact. Thereby there is a considerable ease of assembly when installing, for example a circuit board in a housing when the contact element with the matching counter contact is automatically put together. Since that Contact element in particular rigid with the device, for example one PCB, is connected, no wiring harness is required either. That's why Positional tolerances are automatically compensated without using the electrical connector that there would be a wire harness between mechanical Components could jam.
- the contact element is preferably rigid on the Device, for example the circuit board, attached. The contact element itself can be deformed and bent due to the structure of elastic material become.
- the contact element preferably has an insulating base body, into which a electrical conductor is incorporated.
- the contact element can also as an insulating circuit board holder between the circuit board and another Device, for example an actuator or a sensor, can be used.
- the base body can also have additional shielding, so that the Improved electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the electrical connector can be.
- EMC Improved electromagnetic compatibility
- an insulating base body is not absolutely necessary.
- the elastic contact element could also consist of a flexible but conductive Material, such as a spring element.
- the contact element designed as an elastic pin. Due to the elastic design of the pen can have several such electrical connectors between two devices be arranged when assembling or installing the devices automatically bring into the corresponding position to the counter contact and where Manufacturing tolerances regarding the location and dimensions of the counter contacts and compensated for the distance between the electrical connectors become.
- the contact element preferably has a conductive one end Metal contact, in particular a button-like contact plate.
- the metal contact but can also, as is usual with plugs, be in the form of a metal pin.
- the contact element can be made entirely of a conductive material be made, but designed to be resilient in a certain section his.
- the counter contact is preferably a groove with lead-in chamfers or a socket with funnel-shaped opening as a guide. Then in the groove or the socket Insertable contact element.
- the groove can be, for example, an elongated one Recess for receiving several contact elements.
- a contact element can be inserted.
- a contact plate is arranged, which with the button-like contact plate of the contact element fits together. Both will Contact plates pressed against each other, this creates the electrically conductive Connection between the devices to be contacted.
- the elastic material is Contact element is a rubber-like plastic in which the electrical conductor incorporated, in particular cast in.
- the contact element can consist entirely or only in sections of the elastic material and the electrical conductor could also be in a hole in the elastic material be plugged in. This way the electrical conductor is inside the Contact element protected against environmental influences and guided and flexible electrical connection between devices are also not loose hanging conductors or cables more required.
- the contact element designed as a spiral, compression or contact spring.
- Resilient elements can be made that have a metal contact on one end have and with an opposite attachment end rigid with a Device are connected. In this embodiment, too Tolerance compensation possible thanks to the flexible spring elements.
- the metal contact of the contact element can be biased against one Metal contact of the counter contact are pressed. This can be done that the contact elements are used as spacers between two devices are and the devices in their installed position the contact elements easily in Compress in the direction of their longitudinal axis. As a result, they are Metal contacts of the contact element and the mating contact against each other biased.
- the contact element can be in its position for mating contact, in particular through Locking means as well as a fusion or screw connection, can be fixed.
- the Metal contacts of the contact element and counter contact can, for example, by an automatic soldering process can be connected.
- On the other hand, can a screw or snap connection the contact element in the position for Fix counter contact.
- the contact element with a fastening end on the device is preferred, for example, a printed circuit board.
- the attachment end of the The contact element is then particularly positive or non-positive with the device connected.
- the attachment end can, for example, on a circuit board be clamped or used in a mounting groove and there for example be stuck.
- the fastening end is then rigid and immobile with the Printed circuit board connected, the contact element itself being elastic and bendable.
- the contact element is such in itself bendable that the metal contact along a plane parallel to the circuit board in two dimensions is elastically displaceable.
- the metal contact of the Contact element by stretching and compressing the contact element also in one third dimension, i.e. parallel to its longitudinal axis, be elastically displaceable.
- the electrical conductor running within the contact element which the Metal contact with electronic circuits on the circuit board electrically conductive connects, can be in the manner of a conventional metal wire or a strand be trained. In this way, the contact element with the inside Simply bend the ladder to the side.
- the spring wire itself as Head should be provided.
- the conductor preferably has relief sections, in particular relief loops on which the conductor moves according to the displacement of the contact element can extend or shorten.
- the leader in certain Sections may be arranged spirally and then again in other sections run parallel to the longitudinal direction of the contact element. That way there is the possibility that the contact element can be stretched or compressed, without the electrical connection between those to be contacted Devices is interrupted.
- the contact element can also serve as a bearing pin for floating mounting of a printed circuit board in addition to the contacting.
- the circuit board provided with the contact elements can then, for example, be automatically placed on a substructure or a second circuit board when installed in a housing, the contact elements being insertable into the mating contacts in the form of sockets by the guide devices and producing an electrical connection. Due to the tolerance-compensating effect of the flexible contact elements, cable harnesses can be partially or completely replaced within one device. Of course, several conductors can also be provided within an elastic contact element for producing several independent electrically conductive connections. The Spring-loaded "contact plate is put under tension when it is assembled and then fixed in this position. In this way, reliable electrical contacting of the circuit board can be achieved.
- the electrical connector 1 has a device 2 attached contact element 3, a matching mating contact 4 and one Insertion cone 5 on.
- the device 2 is designed as a printed circuit board. With this Circuit board 2 is connected to a mounting base 6, which has a groove 7 for receiving an attachment end 8 of the contact element 3.
- the fastening end 8 can alternatively be soldered or screwed to the circuit board 2.
- a button-like metal contact 9 is provided, which on a Metal contact 10 is present, which is on the inside of a receptacle 11th is arranged.
- the mating contact 4 that can be joined with the contact element 3 is through the insertion cone 5, the receptacle 11 and the metal contact 10 educated.
- the contact element 3 is on the one hand bendable in a plane parallel to the circuit board and on the other hand can be lengthened or shortened in its longitudinal direction.
- an electrical conductor 15 is arranged, the Relief loops 16, so that when bending or extending the Contact element, the electrical connection is not interrupted.
