Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device made of plastic for pressing tablets out of a blister pack.
- Blister packs are often used for dispensing tablets, as they are clear and facilitate controlled dispensing.
- Such blister packs consist of a thermoformed plastic film, each with an elevation, in each of which one tablet is held and is covered with a welded-on continuous metal film. To remove the tablets, you have to hold the packaging in your hand and press the tablet through the metal foil with the thumb pressure on the protrusion, the protrusion being turned inside out.
- the metal foil is usually a printed aluminum foil, but coated aluminum foils, plasticized aluminum foils and plastic foils that are vapor-coated with a metal layer are also used.
- the to spend The power to dispense a tablet is on the one hand from the
- Figure 1 a top view of the opened device with inserted blister pack and Figure 2 - a vertical section through the closed device with inserted blister pack.
- Figure 3 - shows a side view of the closed device with a view of the locking
- Figure 4 again a vertical section perpendicular to the longitudinal edge of the device.
- Figure 5 - again shows a top view of the device with inserted blister pack, this time in the closed state and ultimately shows
- Figure 6 the use of the device while squeezing a tablet from the blister pack.
- the device 1 essentially consists of a base plate 10 and a cover plate 20 pivotally connected thereto.
- the cover plate 20 is preferably integrally connected to the base plate 10 and both plates 10, 20 can be pivoted relative to one another with respect to a pivot axis 21.
- the pivot axis 21 is formed by two hinges 22.
- the hinges 22 are designed as film hinges.
- On the base plate A blister pack 2 is shown lying thereon.
- the blister pack 2 consists of a thermoformed plastic film 3, in which elevations 4 are molded. These elevations 4 form a receptacle for the tablets to be packaged. In each elevation 4 there is a tablet T, not shown here.
- the tablet T can only be seen in FIG. 6 in the pressed-out state. When the tablet is pressed out, it cuts through the cover film 5 and the elevation 4 is turned inside out.
- the base plate 10 consists essentially of a flat plate which has ribs 11 projecting vertically towards the support side. These ribs form at least one peripheral edge. Preferably, however, a central rib 11 ′ is additionally provided for stiffening, which is arranged centrally between the two longitudinal ribs 11. Additional transverse ribs running transversely to these longitudinal ribs can additionally be provided. These then each run between two adjacent openings 12 in the base plate.
- the height of the ribs 11, 11 ' is such that it is greater than the thickness of the tablets T to be pressed out.
- the lower edges of all the ribs define a standing level E. When the device is used, the standing level consequently comes to rest on a support surface 6. Then the stand level E and the support surface 6 coincide. So that the blister packaging in the correct arrangement on the
- Base plate 10 comes to rest, short positioning lugs 13 are arranged laterally perpendicular to the longitudinal edge. These positioning lugs 13 serve to engage in lateral recesses 7 of the blister pack to be inserted.
- the base plate is preferably provided with an upwardly extending peripheral wall 14 on which the cover plate 20 rests when the device 1 is closed. This solution is to be preferred because, in the preferred embodiment shown here, the blister pack 2 with its cover film 5 does not lie directly on the base plate 10.
- the slightly spaced support of the blister pack 2 on the base plate 10 takes place by means of supporting, rib-shaped elevations 15. These supporting elevations form a grid, one tablet being placed in each defined area.
- These fields 16 each have an opening 12 arranged approximately centrally therein, which thus comes to lie vertically under an elevation 4 of the blister pack 2.
- Embossed edges 17 are provided on each of the longitudinal edges of the openings 12, each of which has an approximately rectangular shape. By pressing on the elevations 4, the embossed edges 17 perforate the cover film 5 at the edge of the corresponding elevation, to which pressure is exerted.
- the upper edge of all embossed edges 17 and the surfaces of the supporting, rib-shaped elevations 15 on the base plate 10 thus form a common support plane on which the blister packaging lies on.
- the base plate 10 can additionally have thickenings which extend into this support plane and thus achieve additional support.
- the cover plate 20 is designed opposite the base plate 10.
- the cover plate 20 thus has exactly the same number of openings 23, which come to lie approximately congruently over the openings 12 in the base plate 10 in the closed state of the device 1.
- the cover plate 20 is pulled down by a step approximately by material thickness relative to a peripheral edge 24 in order to press the inserted blister pack 2 in the closed state of the device 1.
- a tab 25 is arranged on the longitudinal edge opposite the hinges 22.
- the tab 25 has a locking lug 26 on its side edge lying towards the center.
- a tab 18 is also provided on the base plate 10 on the longitudinal edge opposite the hinge 22, which tab extends in a first area in the standing plane E and then via a step 18 '.
- This tab 18 also has a locking lug 19 on the central side edge, which engages with the locking lug 26 on the tab 25 of the cover plate 20 when the device 1 is closed. In the closed state, the two locking lugs 19 and 26 thus overlap. This can be seen in FIG. 5.
- Such a device can be manufactured in one piece from plastic and is consequently extremely inexpensive. The device can be given to the patient free of charge by the pharmacies together with the corresponding tablets delivered in blister packs. Often, such patients always need the same tablets during a longer therapy period. The device can thus be reused several times. For the handicapped patient, the tablets packaged in this way can be expressed considerably more easily.
- the packaging itself does not need to be held in the hand but can be held in the device 1 on a support surface 6, for example a table top, and the tablet can only be pressed out by finger pressure. The tablet thus comes to rest on the table top and the device can be lifted away. The peripheral edge ensures that the tablet does not roll away. Patients with particularly painful joint rheumatism in the hands can also press the tablet out of the blister pack by means of elbow pressure onto the elevations 4, which protrude upward through the openings 23 of the cover plate 20.
