Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and a device for drilling wells, in particular for prospecting and prospecting drilling.
- Digging holes are used for the purpose of investigation made from deposits and are supposed to take a sample of the material available in the deposit. In particular, digging holes are drilled if the deposit is at greater depth and / or Waters such as lakes or above the deposit Do not allow oceans to sink mines.
- Extraction wells serve to extract the content of the deposit from soil layers.
- Exemplary for extraction drilling be the mining of on the ocean floor stored marine sediments with diamond inclusions explained.
- the deposits containing diamonds have become mostly in front of estuaries in the form of not too powerful, layers spread out on rocky ground.
- the diamond-containing sediment material becomes devices used by ships on an extendable Drill string lowered to the ocean floor.
- Such devices can have drill heads, designed for larger diameter bores are.
- drill heads designed for larger diameter bores are.
- the leading management team meets the underlying, mostly rocky bottom, in the they do not or only very slowly and with high wear can penetrate. The drill head can then no longer in penetrate the sediment layer.
- a device is known from US Pat. No. 3,277,972, where the drill head penetrates a soft one Sediment layer is brought down.
- the drill head is can be moved relative to the housing in the direction of the drill string arranged so that it can be brought down independently of the housing is once the front end of the case strikes a hard rock layer.

- a two-part drill head arrangement is known from US Pat. No. 3,729,057 known along a drill string and is movable from.
- the drill head assembly includes one Drill tip, which at one at the lower end of the drill head arranged plate is attached.
- the latter is one Axis running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the drill string pivoted, such that the drill head relative to Drill string can be moved upwards by swiveling the plate is.
- the device should be adaptable to the different drilling conditions and depths and require the lowest possible manufacturing effort.
- a drill string is used its end facing the soil to be removed one in Guide tip fixed in the longitudinal direction of the drill string has, at the point where the hole is drilled should be put on.
- the top management penetrates here regularly into the sediment layer at least by a small amount on.
- one at its the Floor facing side having at least one cutting element Drill head running in the longitudinal direction of the drill string between an upper position in which the leading tip that projects beyond at least one cutting element, and one lower position in which the at least one cutting element itself at the same level as the end of the top located or protrudes in the direction of action, relocatable is out of it during settling of the drill string assumed upper position in its lower Position shifted.
- the at least one cutting element of the drill head in the sediment layer leads the drill head laterally Bore approach before the guide tip is less effect laterally leading the drill head. If the drill head penetrates further into the sediment layer the at least one cutting tool is thus located on one level with the end of the leadership or even hurries ahead, so that holes except for the rock under the sediment layer after the The inventive method are possible without any problems. There the guide tip usually does not during the drilling process into the rock layer under the sediment layer must penetrate, their wear is considerable reduced.
- the drill string turns around during the drilling process its longitudinal axis rotated and thereby both the drill head mounted non-rotatably on the drill string as well the guide tip also arranged in a rotationally fixed manner on the drill string set in rotation.
