Definitions
- the invention relates to an exhaust gas arrangement in a motor vehicle for flow of exhaust gases, with an outer casing with an inflow area and an outflow area, between which there is a tubular middle housing area with larger perpendicular to the main flow direction Cross section as the outer end cross sections of the inflow and outflow area located, the inflow area, the middle Housing area and the outflow area of the outer housing are integrally formed and the inflow and outflow area drawn in towards the middle of the housing are, and at least within the central housing area an installation part is arranged that is perpendicular to the main flow direction over the clear cross sections from the inflow and outflow area to the wall of the extends middle housing area.
- An aforementioned exhaust system known from EP-A-0 425 983 is a catalyst, the installation part is a ceramic Substrate, especially a monolith.
- the monolith is a cylindrical component with a circular cross section or an installation part with an oval cross-section.
- One or more of these Monoliths can be wrapped in a tubular jacket be bordered, with the two axial ends of the jacket retracted are. This makes the monolith (s) permanent fixed in the jacket or housing.
- the slightly confiscated Axial ends of the housing provide an axial fixation of the Monoliths in the case. Spacers between monoliths can be provided.
- the monoliths themselves can be used in one Mat be wrapped in the housing.
- the object of the invention is to create an aforementioned Exhaust arrangement, which with a simple structure and easy manufacture outside of the catalyst area finds.
- the invention is therefore characterized in that the exhaust arrangement is a resonator silencer.
- the built-in part is an inner funnel, which is on the inner wall of the middle part of the housing is attached, for example by spot welding.
- a resonator silencer known from prior public use is the outer case from a separate middle housing area (so-called jacket) as well as a separate inflow area and outflow area (so-called scoops).
- the outer case is thus composed of three individual parts, with inflow area and Outflow area are mutually identical. After insertion of the inner funnel in the middle housing area are also inflow area and outflow area to a certain extent in the middle housing area plugged in.
- the middle housing area circular in cross section. Corresponding are inflow area and outflow area, but only on their ends circular in cross section over a certain axial distance educated.
- a preferred training is marked by one before inserting the inner part according to its outer dimensions widened middle housing area.
- the inlet opening of the inflow area and the outlet opening of the outflow area are designed differently, in particular they have different diameters.
- the invention solves the problem with particularly simple means. Since only a single component is required, in particular for the outer housing is considerable, with increased manufacturing reliability Cost reductions in the entire production. Most of all it is in the (cold) drawing in of the inflow region according to the invention and outflow area around an extremely inexpensive manufacturing process. Here there are also relatively low tool costs, especially as a result of the invention only a small number of individual parts is to be positioned and thus fewer procedural steps are required.
- the preferred Multi-stage hydraulic press tool can be used in one stage also the expansion of the middle housing area for the insertion of the Inner part can be used in these.
- the device according to the invention in the direction perpendicular to the main flow direction, in particular from a cylindrical to an oval cross-section, compressible. This results in a very particularly compact and therefore a one further increased ground clearance enabling formation of the device after the invention.
- the drawing shows an axial longitudinal section of a resonator silencer for flowing exhaust gases, the main flow direction is illustrated by an arrow 1.
- the silencer shows Outer housing 2 with an inflow region 3 and an outflow region 4, between which there is a tubular central housing area 5 with a vertical to the main flow direction (arrow 1) larger cross section than the outer end cross-sections of inflow area 3 and outflow area 4 is located.
- Inside the central housing area 5 there is an inner funnel 6 arranged, which is in the direction perpendicular to the main flow direction (Arrow 1) over the clear cross sections of inflow area 3 and outflow area 4 extends to the wall of the middle housing area 5.
- the middle housing area 5 is the Inflow area 3 and outflow area 4 of the outer housing 2 according to the invention integrally formed.
- the end areas of the original consisting of a continuous tube outer housing 2 in the middle Housing area 5 inserted inner funnel 6 to form the inflow area 3 and outflow area 4 by means of a multi-stage hydraulic Press tool pulled in relative to the central housing area 5.
- the Inserting the inner funnel 6 into the middle housing area 5 becomes this expanded according to the outer diameter of the inner funnel 6.
- the retraction of the end regions of the outer housing 2 to form the inflow region 3 and outflow area 4 takes place in such a way that the inlet opening 3a of the inflow area 3 and the outlet opening 4a of the outflow area 4 different diameters.
- a cylindrical tube provided for the formation of the outer housing 2 is drawn into its one end region to form the outflow region 4 to the nominal size of the outlet opening 4a, and the remaining straight pipe section is widened to the nominal size to match the outer diameter of the inner funnel 6.
- the inner funnel 6 is pushed into the middle housing area 5 thus formed, and the other tube end is drawn in, after which the inner funnel 6 is fixed, for example by spot welding or the like.
- the pipe end drawn in in the second step is completely drawn in to form the inflow region 3 to the nominal size of the inlet opening 3a, after which the resonance muffler is practically completed.
- the outer housing can be labeled, above all to indicate the direction of flow.
