Abstract

The envelope (1) has a tear-off thread (3) in the form of a flat, adhesive-coated degradable strip is located in at least one fold-edge (2) of one side flap, and is stuck to the envelope paper and or to the inner lining of the envelope. In part (4) of at least one end (5) of the thread located inside the envelope, the envelope (1) has a perforation (7) to form a tear-off corner (6) covering the thread's end. The envelope is made from a continuous length of paper (8) of suitable width (9). The side edges (11) are cut by a machine (14). While the length of paper is continuously travelling, the tear-off thread is placed in the direction of travel in one side fold-edge, stuck down by pressure, and conveyed along with the paper.

Description

The invention relates to a method for producing an envelope or a mailing bag or the like with an inserted tear thread, the tear thread being arranged in the course of production on a fold edge different from a folded edge of a closure flap before the envelope is finished folding.

Envelopes in the form of envelopes of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1 are already known from FR-A-2 420 487. In the production of the known envelope that the thread is inserted piece by piece and it is from FR-A-2 420 487 not recognizable how the insertion of such a thread should take place during production.

Eine manuelle Einlegung ist indiskutabel.Manual insertion is out of the question.

Starting from this StdT, the invention is intended to propose a method for producing such an envelope.

This object is achieved with a method having the features of patent claim 1.

The guiding of the thread along the side edge according to the invention allows the thread to be continuously placed and unwound with the course of the endless paper tape, so that the thread is easily placed on top and cut with knives for trimming the side edges and glued in the folded edge of the still flat blank, so that during the further folding of the blank to the finished envelope no other special measures bez. this thread must be taken, but the thread can rather be completely ignored. A tear thread that is arranged along the side edge, that is to say a side folding edge of the blank and glued there without an overhang, cannot be torn off from the outside. By tearing off a smaller upper corner on the side edge of the envelope or at any other corner where the thread ends, the thread can be gripped and pulled off in the lateral direction and the envelope can thus be opened. The thread can thus be introduced economically, so that the envelope is economically restored can be. It is no longer possible to tear off protruding thread ends because no thread ends protrude. Accordingly, an envelope cannot be opened unintentionally via the protruding thread end which is glued to the envelope at its free end.

For technical reasons, the thread is arranged in a side folding edge of the blank. This fold edge of a side flap is the fold edge running in the machine direction. Positioning straight in this edge enables the insertion of an endless thread during the envelope production.

If the tear thread is provided with adhesive that sticks under pressure and / or supply of heat, it is possible to dispense with appropriate gluing or gumming of the envelope itself or of the blank before the thread is applied. The adhesive is always where the thread is and there are no positioning problems between an adhesive strip and a thread. It can also no longer happen with this form of gluing that the tear thread, which is only glued to a single point at its end, detaches from its gluing at the start of the tear-open process, so that it can simply be pulled out and an opening by means of this Thread is no longer possible. For example, so-called hot-melt strips that stick by applying heat or self-adhesive strips that stick to the paper web by pressing are to be mentioned.

Machines with those from a paper tape that is quickly and continuously transported through the machine. have already been printed in the desired manner in the machine, a flat blank can be cut for the production of envelopes, are already known. Their structure and mode of operation therefore need not be described here. On the continuous paper web, which is not yet separated in the transverse direction and is not yet trimmed at the side edges, is at a suitable point, for. B. on a deflecting roller, laterally a later in the direction of the running paper web later folding edge of the tear thread and pressed by means of a roller or roller and thus continuously glued to the paper web and transported continuously. The laying on and gluing and the transport can take place without any impairment of the normal transport speed of the paper web. The general work of the known machine is in no way disturbed. During the transport of the paper web through the machine and after the tear thread is placed in the manner mentioned, the shape of the side edges is trimmed z. B. by means of a rotary knife, which is also known per se and therefore does not require any further description in its function and shape. The Rotary knife not only cuts away excess paper parts in the area of the trimming of the side edges, but also the protrusions of the tear thread, so that the tear thread of each envelope is cut to its correct length at the same time. When the blank is subsequently folded into the finished envelope, the thread placed on it no longer has to be observed. When the envelope is folded out of the blank, the thread is in the right place. In order to be able to quickly and easily grasp the tear thread later, it makes sense to perforate a paper area at least at one end of a tear thread to form a tear-off corner. In a further embodiment of the invention, this can be carried out together with the format cutout of the side edges.

Finally, with regard to the design of the method, it is also proposed that after folding in the side flaps comprising the tear thread, the folded edge is rolled over under pressure. As a result, the adhesive of the tear thread is secured again and the subsequent tearing easier.

The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, which only show a schematic structure and sequence.

Dem Ausschnitt 15 zugeordnet ist eine Fadenspuleinrichtung 16 und eine Führungs- und Anpresseinrichtung 19.Fig. 2 shows the schematic structure of a section 15 of a machine 14 for the production of letterhead, which is part of an overall system. An uninterrupted paper web 8, as also shown in FIG. 1, passes through this cutout 15, as can be seen in FIG. 2, which lies between the window station 10 and the station for the format side cutout 26 in the direction of the arrow 20. The arrangement is direct Before the format side cutout has the advantage that the paper web glued to the tape is not subject to various curvatures before cutting the thread, which could force the thread to come off. A thread winding device 16 and a guiding and pressing device 19 are assigned to the cutout 15.

The thread spool device 16 carries a thread spool 18 and this is followed by a dispenser 17, with which the thread tension of the tear thread 3 can also be regulated.

During operation, the tear thread 3 is removed from the thread spool 18 of the thread spool device 16 by the unwinding device 17 regulating the thread tension unwound through and led to the guide and pressing device 19. The thread 3 is guided into the correct lateral position and then, if necessary, guided to the paper web 8 in the area in front of the station for the format side cutout 26 via further guide rollers and placed there on the paper web and pressed onto the paper web via the pressure roller 22. Since the tear thread 3 itself has the necessary adhesive, it is thereby glued to the paper web, which transports it back in the direction of the arrow 20 during operation, thereby forcing the same speed as the paper web 8 itself. The pressure roller 22 can be used to generate the required contact pressure z. B. be spring loaded. The lateral orientation of the tear thread 3 is such that it is placed along a folding edge 2 (FIG. 1) which extends in the direction of the arrow 20 and moves in this direction. Immediately after this process, the side edge 11 is cut on both sides of the paper web 8 using a rotating knife 25, as shown in FIG. 3, in a format cutting station 26. This creates the necessary side contour of an envelope to be folded later from such a blank. A separating cut along the separating edge 21 for separating a blank from other blanks takes place later. With the aid of the knife contour 24 of the rotary knife shown in FIG. 3, which is shown again in development in FIG. 4 and can also be seen in development in FIG. 1, an unnecessary edge region, which is shown hatched in FIG. 1, is now cut off. Here, the tear thread 3 is cut through in this area, which becomes waste with the hatched paper area. This cutting process forms side flaps 13 which are later folded inwards along the folding edge 2 when the envelope 1 is folded, so that after this folding inwards the tear thread 3 is covered by the paper of the blank. It ends exactly at the edges of the cut and does not protrude anywhere.

In addition to the knife contour 24, a perforation knife 25 is provided, with which the perforation 7 is introduced during the cut in such a way that the tear thread 3 is not damaged thereby. This perforated area 4 at the end of the thread 5 then forms a tear-off corner after the folding of the envelope 1, which can be easily recognized and torn off, so that the corresponding end 5 of the thread 3 is held in hands and then the corresponding folded edge of the envelope can be torn open. The entire width 9 of the paper web 8 is thus only reached by the side flaps 13 and is narrower at the side edges 11 which are cut by the knife contour 24, with a closure flap after the separating edge 21 opposite the transport direction of the arrow 20 23 of the next blank. However, the cutting of such an envelope 1 and its production are known per se and therefore do not require any further explanation here either.

It can also be seen that the normal production process for the production of such envelopes, as is known, is not disrupted by the application of the tear thread 3 in the manner described here. There are no changes in the production process. All that is required to carry out the method is the known sequence of the method and additionally the thread placement described. As a machine 14 for carrying out the method, it is sufficient to supplement any known machine which is used in the production of such envelopes in such a way that on an accessible support roller for the fast-moving paper web 8, a thread extends in the correct lateral orientation and extends in the transport direction placed on the paper web and glued by pressing with the pressure roller 22. To do this, the thread that is assigned by an Thread winding device is provided, are guided in the correct lateral direction, because yes, the thread 3 to be provided on the thread spool 18 is not only wound one above the other but also side by side, so that this thread runs back and forth continuously when unwinding. However, it is also possible not to use a thread guide roller for thread guidance, but other suitable means such as, for example, a thread inlet funnel with an outlet nozzle in the correct lateral position for the thread. If the thread spool is not too wide and instead has a larger diameter, a simple eyelet is sufficient as a thread guide, through which the thread runs.

The sizing of the thread itself in such a way that the adhesive properties only become effective again under pressure and / or with the addition of heat, makes it superfluous to provide glue feeds on any gluing devices which have to be aligned and furthermore no glue scrapers have to be provided, so that the processing is extraordinary can be done cleanly.
