Abstract

The connections (35) are positioned near end surfaces next to the side surfaces (3-6) corresponding to the lengthwise and crosswise side surfaces (7) and formed by a coupling (38). The coupling protrudes towards a covering part (31) of the other side wall and has centring and or lock assemblies (37). Between the side walls and or between them and the base (2) is a fixture (47) exerting a pre-tensioning forces in the locking direction of the centring and or locking elements. The coupling's centring and or locking elements are spaced apart towards an end side surface (30) towards a height (33) forming the container's (1) depth (29).

Description

The invention relates to a container as described in the preamble of claim 1 and 2.

Such containers are preferably designed to be dismantled or collapsible in order to take up a small transport volume when transported in the empty state.

In a known container - according to GB-A-21 63 132 - a container is disclosed in which the side walls are hinged to the floor via film hinges and from a position perpendicular to the floor, in which the side walls are held in the corner areas via connecting devices, are pivotable to the outside in a position parallel to the ground. The connecting device is designed as a coupling device which has centering and / or locking elements which are arranged on an end face of a side wall and protrude in the direction of a covering area of a further side wall arranged at 90 ° and which engage in centering and / or locking receptacles which are arranged in the overlap area of the further side wall. The disadvantage of these containers is that the side walls remain in the vertical position only when the centering and / or locking elements engage in the centering and / or locking receptacles, so that it is necessary for manual assembly to use the side walls for the purpose of manufacture to keep a connection in the vertical position, or in the case of automatic assembly it is necessary to guide the side walls into their vertical position, which requires additional assembly time or assembly devices. Furthermore, the bottom and the side walls of this container are formed by a framework, which means that a separate insert must be arranged in the container to accommodate the goods to be transported.

Furthermore, a container is known - according to WO-OS 92/13771 - which consists of a base and side walls articulated to it or connected to it by other means. The side walls can be folded outwards in relation to the floor, so that they then lie in one plane with the floor. The side walls are connected to one another in the region of the container corners via releasable connecting devices which are formed by a slot or a hole arranged in the first side wall and a projecting locking arm arranged on the other side wall. The L-shaped locking arm is locked through the slot inserted through it so that its outer partial leg and a partial area of an outer surface of a side wall overlap. In the slot, a clamping wedge is molded onto a slot surface, in particular molded onto it, which serves as an independent locking device for fixing the locking arm in the overlapping position with the side wall and which is formed from an elastic material different from the material of the container. A disadvantage of this design is that the side wall with the locking arm can only be connected to the other side wall via the additional locking device formed by the clamping wedge, which leads to higher tooling and manufacturing costs. Furthermore, it is disadvantageous that a thin material connection between the clamping wedge and the slot surface in the bending area of the clamping wedge creates a potential breaking point, which leads to destruction of the locking device even after a small number of connection processes or slight overloading.

In a further known container - according to EP-A-0 211 795 - the side walls and end walls have a plurality of interacting tongues and slots with which these are fastened to one another in the circumferential direction of the container and which the side and end walls are in a position with respect to one another position in which they can be connected to the floor. The disadvantage of this design is that when disassembled, the walls and the floor are separate from one another and therefore the parts must be sorted before they are used and there is also the risk that individual parts will be lost.

The object of the invention is now to provide a container which takes up a small transport volume or storage volume when empty and which, when used as a transport container, is distinguished by a high absorption capacity both in terms of volume and weight of the goods to be accommodated and a reliable mounting of the side walls position of the same in relation to the floor.

This object of the invention is achieved by the features reproduced in the characterizing part of patent claim 1. The surprising advantage here is that the design of the locking device with the biasing force acting in the locking direction effectively prevents accidental release of the coupling devices. In addition, it is achieved that the side wall parts remain independently even in an intermediate position without connecting devices in engagement, which facilitates manual or automatic assembly of the container.

The object of the invention is also achieved by the features reproduced in the characterizing part of claim 2. The surprising advantage of this is that it creates an effective coupling device for the side wall parts, which moreover, as a result of the material's own restoring effect, causes tension forces which counteract an unlocking or an unintentional release of the coupling device.

However, an embodiment according to claim 3 is also possible, because in this way a secure connection or locking and positioning of the wall parts to one another is achieved even with containers which have a greater depth due to the corresponding height of the side wall parts.

An embodiment as described in claim 4 is advantageous, as a result of which a high stability of the connecting device is achieved, which enables a high side loading of the wall parts by the material received by the container.

By training according to claim 5, no additional components are required for the connecting device, whereby it is inexpensive to manufacture.

A further advantageous embodiment is described in claim 6, because as a result of the material-specific restoring effect, clamping forces are achieved which effectively counteract an unlocking.

A further advantageous embodiment is described in claim 7, whereby, in conjunction with the clamping force, the clamping elements automatically slide into one another up to the end stop.

After a possible training according to claim 8, very resistant components for the coupling extension are achieved, which absorb a high tensile load.

A preferred further development describes claim 9, because this results in a distribution of the clamping forces in accordance with the different external dimensions, in particular the height, over a large length of the side edges.

Another embodiment according to claim 10 facilitates insertion of the coupling extensions for locking regardless of the position of the centering elements.

Through a development according to claim 11, a uniform engagement of the centering and coupling elements is achieved, whereby the manipulation when erecting and locking the side wall parts is facilitated.

A further advantageous embodiment is described in claim 12, whereby material savings are achieved.

By an embodiment according to claim 13, an alignment of the side wall parts in the pivoted state is made possible in the plane of the floor and thus the empty volume is reduced.

A development according to claim 14 enables exact guidance of the side wall parts during the pivoting process.

In a design according to claims 15 and 16, a permanent and wear-free securing against axial displacement and thus unintentional release of the side wall parts from the floor or the pivot pin from the pivot receptacles is achieved. The elasticity of the locking element also facilitates the assembly of the swivel arrangement.

However, an embodiment according to claim 17 is also possible, with which a punctiform arrangement of stop elements is possible and thus material and weight savings are achieved.

According to an advantageous embodiment according to claim 18, a locking effect is achieved with which the side wall parts are automatically held in the erected position, which advantageously brings relief for the engagement of the locking elements.

However, an embodiment according to claim 19 is also possible, as a result of which the elements of the restraint device can be manufactured very simply and inexpensively.

However, an embodiment according to claim 20 is also advantageous because it creates a Overload protection for the joint arrangement is achieved when loading the side wall parts from the direction of the interior of the container.

An advantageous further development is described in claims 21 to 25, whereby devices for positioning the containers when stacked one above the other are achieved, which position the containers in a non-slip manner relative to one another. Furthermore, the positioning elements formed on the bottom, when the containers are stacked on top of one another, fix the position of the side wall parts at their upper edge region by the container located above them, and the forces acting on the side wall parts due to the contents of the containers are absorbed by the positioning elements or the floor.

Finally, however, an embodiment according to claim 26 is also advantageous, because it achieves perfect reproducibility of the parts and thus economical production, particularly in the case of large quantities.

For a better understanding of the invention, this will be explained in more detail with reference to the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawings.

A container 1 is shown in FIG. This consists of a base 2 and side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6, which are pivotally connected to the base 2 on its circumferential longitudinal and transverse side surfaces 7 via joint arrangements 8. The side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 can be pivoted via a hinge arrangement 8 from a position forming approximately a right angle to the floor 2 into a position forming a plane with the floor 2.

The bottom 2 has, on a surface 10 facing an interior space 9 of the container 1, a base plate 11 which has webs 14 for stiffening on an underside 13 facing away from the surface 10 and facing a contact surface 12. These are integrally connected to the base plate 11 and to the edge strips 15 which form the longitudinal and transverse side surfaces 7, in particular molded onto the base plate and the base plate 11. A height 16 of the edge strips 15 and the webs 14 corresponds approximately to a total thickness 17 of the base 2.

The side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 are formed, similarly to the floor 2, by wall panels 18 facing the interior 9, which have peripheral strips 19 arranged in the circumferential direction, which protrude beyond an outer surface 20 of the wall panel 18 facing away from the interior 9 and on which webs 21 are also arranged are, which are integrally connected to the edge strips 19 and the wall plate 18. The side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 also preferably have openings 22 in the wall plates 18, which are used for ventilation of goods received in the container 1. Furthermore, handle openings 24 with ridge-like reinforcing elements 23 are provided in the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6.

If the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 are in their erected position in which they form an angle of 90 ° with the base 2, an outer envelope surface 25 formed by the edge strips 19 and, if appropriate, the webs 21 runs inside or congruently with a length 26 and a width 27 of the base 2. In this way, an overlap area 31 is formed in the area of a height 28 of the side wall parts, which corresponds to a depth 29 of the container 1, and of end faces 30 formed by the edge strips 19 and the wall plates 18 facing them . Its width 32 corresponds to a height 33 of the edge strips 19 or a total thickness 34 of the side wall parts 4, 6 running at right angles thereto.

Connection devices 35 are arranged on the end face surfaces 30, which project beyond the end face surfaces 30 in the direction of the side wall parts 3, 5 adjacent in the overlap region 31 and to which receptacles 36 are assigned in these.

These are shown pivoted in their position forming a plane with the base 2. In the use position, the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 form an angle of 90 ° with the base 2. The side wall part 4 has the connecting device 35 on the end face surface 30, to which the receptacles 36 of the side wall part 3 in the overlap region 31 are assigned. The connecting device 35 is formed by a coupling device 38 which has centering and / or locking elements 37 and which cooperate with the receptacles 36, formed by centering and / or locking receptacles 39. The centering and / or locking elements 37 each comprise, in the direction of the height 28 of the side wall parts 4 and 6, a strip-shaped centering extension 40 and a coupling extension 41, which protrude from the end face 30 of the side wall part 4 or 6 in the direction of the adjacent side wall part 3 or 5. The centering extension 40 is preferably arranged adjacent to the base 2, while the coupling extension 41 is rather assigned to the area of an upper edge 42 of the container 1 or of the side wall part 4. Corresponding to an average distance 43 of the centering extension 40 from the longitudinal and transverse side surface 7 and an average distance 44 between the centering extension 40 and the coupling extension 41, a centering receptacle 45 and a coupling opening 46 of the centering and / or locking receptacle are in the overlap region 31 of the associated side wall part 3 39 arranged.

In the area of the longitudinal and transverse side surfaces 7 and adjacent to the joint arrangements 8, elements of a locking device 47 for the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 are arranged, which are designed in the form of stops 48, which have support surfaces 49 in the surface 10 the bottom plate 11 cooperate. This locking device 47 ensures an effective limitation of the pivoting angle of the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 in the direction of the base 2. In addition, the formation of the stops 48 and the support surfaces 49 prevents the erected side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 from freely pivoting into the plane with the floor or is only possible after overcoming a resistance predetermined by a backdrop-shaped design of the support surface 49.

Eine Distanz 63 zwischen der Seitenfläche 62 und der Längsmittelachse 55 entspricht dabei in etwa dem Radius 58 der kreisförmig gerundeten Längs- und Querseitenfläche 7.3 and 4, the hinge arrangement 8 between the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 is shown, for example for the side wall part 3 and the base 2. In these representations, the side wall part 3 is shown in full lines in its position forming a plane with the base 2 and in dashed lines in its position taking an angle of 90 ° with the base. The bottom 2 has a groove 51 running parallel to the circumferential longitudinal and transverse side surface 7 on an underside 50 facing away from the surface 10. A groove base 52 facing the surface 10 is semicircular, a depth 53 of the groove 51 being greater than a width 54. A longitudinal central axis 55 of the joint arrangement 8 running parallel to the longitudinal and transverse side surfaces 7 and the surface 10 is approximately on average Thickness 56 of the base 2 or an edge strip 57 forming the longitudinal and transverse side surface 7. The longitudinal and transverse side surface 7 is rounded in a direction transverse to its longitudinal extension, a radius 58 starting from the longitudinal central axis 55 being a distance 59 between the Surface 10 of the bottom 2 and the longitudinal central axis 55 corresponds. Is concentric to the longitudinal central axis 55 in the groove 51 a pivot pin 60 extending in the direction of the longitudinal central axis 55 is arranged, which is connected to the movement via a connecting web 61 with the side wall part 3 or a side surface 62 facing the bottom 2, which projects beyond the side wall part 3 in the direction of the bottom 2 border strip 19. A distance 63 between the side surface 62 and the longitudinal central axis 55 corresponds approximately to the radius 58 of the circularly rounded longitudinal and transverse side surface 7.

In the area of the connecting web 61, the edge 51 receiving the groove 51 is provided with a recess 64 for receiving the connecting web 61, which extends from the longitudinal and transverse side surface 7 by the distance 63 plus half the size of a thickness 65 of the connecting web 61 in the direction of the interior 9 associated area of the floor 2 extends. In the direction of its longitudinal extent, the pivot pin 60 has a length 66 which corresponds approximately to twice the width 67 of the connecting web 61. As a result, end regions 68, 69 of the pivot pin 60 projecting beyond the connecting web 61 are formed, via which the side wall part 3 is pivotably held in the groove 51. In this case, the groove 51 in one of the end regions 68, 69, as shown, is closed in the end region 69 in the direction of the underside 50 across the width 54 by means of a retaining projection 70, as a result of which a receiving chamber 71 is formed for the end region 69 of the pivot pin 60.

An end surface 72 of the pivot pin 60 arranged opposite the receiving chamber 71 is assigned a locking element 73 which delimits the groove 51 in its longitudinal extent, which is integrally formed on the base 2 and extends from the surface 10 to the area of the longitudinal central axis 55 and faces the end surface 72 Forms stop surface 74, which counteracts an axial displacement of the pivot pin 60. Compared to the bottom 2, the blocking element 73 can be elastically deformed in the vertical direction according to a double arrow 77 via a weakening area 76 formed by slots 75. This makes it easier to insert the joint arrangement 8 into one another by inserting the pivot pin 60 into the groove 51 and the receiving chamber 71. By pivoting the locking element 73 out of its locking position for the pivot pin 60, a separation of the joint arrangement 8 is made possible and the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 separated from the base 2.

As can now be better seen in FIGS. 5 and 6, the fixing device 47 for the side wall part 3 with the base 2 is arranged adjacent to the joint arrangement 8. 5, the folded-up position of the side wall part 3 is shown in dashed lines analogous to FIG. 4 and the flat position is shown in full lines, whereas in FIG. 6 the folded-up position is shown in full lines. The locking device 47 is formed by an extension 78 which extends beyond the side surface 62 of the edge strip 19 and forms the stop 48 and to which the support surface 49 formed by a recess 79 in the base 2 is assigned. A contact surface 80 of the stop 48 and the support surface 49 of the recess 79 cooperating therewith run approximately in a plane which forms an angle of approximately 45 ° with the side surface 62 or the contact surface 12 and from the longitudinal central axis 55 in the direction of the Interior 9 has a distance 81 measured vertically on the plane, which corresponds approximately to the radius 58 of the longitudinal and transverse side surface 7 rounded in a circle transverse to the longitudinal extent. Through the choice of a distance 82 measured parallel to the distance 81 between the longitudinal central axis 55 and the contact surface 80, when the side wall part 3 is in an upright position, a prestressing force arises between the support surface 49 and the contact surface 80 in the direction of the pivoting of the side wall part 3 into the one with the base 2 Level forming location.

At the same time, the support surface 49 forms a slotted track 83 with a control edge 84 for the contact surface 80 of the stop 48, in which a distance 85 of the control edge 84 from the longitudinal central axis 55 is greater than the radius 58, thereby causing the side wall part 3 to pivot into the resistance to the level flat position.

This design of the locking device 47 with the support surface 49 and the control edge 84 as well as the contact surface 80 of the stop 48 results in a pretensioning or. Retaining device 86 between the bottom 2 and the side wall parts 3,4,5,6 reached.

This enables the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 to be pivoted into their erected position and a gradual engagement of the centering and / or locking elements 37 with the centering and / or locking receptacles 39 without the side wall parts 3, 4,5,6 unintentionally pivot into the plane of the floor 2. In addition, the biasing or retaining device 86 in the coupled state of the centering and / or locking elements 37 exerts a biasing force directed in the latching direction, which effectively prevents unintentional uncoupling.

The connecting device 35 is formed by the coupling extension 41 and the centering extension 40, which protrude beyond the end face surface 30 of the side wall part 4 in the overlap region 31 in the direction of the further side wall part 3 and to which the centering receptacle 45 or the coupling opening 46 is assigned in the side wall part 3.

The coupling extension 41 is designed in the form of a strip element 87 which extends in the longitudinal direction of the end face 30 and which has at least one slot-shaped recess 88 arranged along the end face 30. A contact surface 89 forming the end face 30 opposite a boundary of the recess 88 extends at an angle of approximately 10 ° to the end face 30, a slot width 91 facing the inner surface 90 being larger than a slot width 92 facing the outer envelope surface 25. This corresponds to FIG about a thickness 93 of the wall plate 18. A width 94 of the strip element 87 is approximately 1/2 to 2/3 of the total thickness 34 of the side wall part 4. A side surface 95 of the strip element 87 facing the enveloping surface 25 is to the plane formed by the enveloping surface 25 arranged at a distance 96 which is slightly greater than a thickness 97 of the edge strip 19 of the side wall part 3.

The wall plate 18 of the side wall part 3 has, in the overlap region 31 with the side wall part 4, the coupling opening 46, into which a locking arm 98, which is connected in one piece to the edge strip 19 and which engages in the locking position in the conically widening recess 88 in the locking direction. The locking arm 98, which is formed by a wall section 99 of the wall plate 18 and approximately has its thickness 93, is deformed relative to the inner surface 90 by an angle 100 in the direction of the conical widening of the recess 88 and overlaps the contact surface 89 by approximately half the width 94 of the strip element 87. An end face 101 of the locking arm 98 facing away from the edge strip 19 has a distance 103 from a reveal surface 102 delimiting the coupling opening 46 on the side facing away from the edge strip 19, which corresponds approximately to the width 94 of the strip element 87 .

The locking arm 98 extending through the angle 100 to the inner surface 90 is elastically deformable in the direction of the inner surface 90 and is connected to the edge strip 19. It is now possible, after inserting the coupling extension 41 into the coupling opening 46 of the side wall part 3, the elastically deformable locking arm 98 into the recess 88 from the direction of the smaller slot width 92 Introduce recess 88, bevels 104 forming backdrop surfaces, through which the process is facilitated. By springing back the locking arm 98 in its original position corresponding to the conical expansion of the recess 88, a secure and automatically non-releasable locking is achieved. At the same time, the spring force in the direction of an arrow 105, which is brought about on the contact surface 89 by the latching arm 98, causes the side wall parts 3, 4 to be pressed together in the overlap region 31.

Of course, it is also possible to provide several recesses 88 for a corresponding number of locking arms 98 in the direction of the longitudinal extent of the end face 30 or to select a width 106 of the locking arms 98 correspondingly large, so that the locking effect over a relatively large portion of the height 28 of the edge strip 19 or the coverage area 31 acts.

The coupling extension 41 with the coupling opening 46 is preferably arranged in the vicinity of the upper edge 42 of the container 1. However, it is also possible, particularly in the case of containers 1 which have a great depth 29, to provide a plurality of centering and / or locking elements 37 distributed over the height 28 and centering and / or locking receptacles 39.

At a distance from the coupling extension 41 in the direction of the base 2, the centering extension 40 is arranged so as to project beyond the end face 30 of the side wall part 4, which is formed by a strip-shaped element with a preferably trapezoidal cross section. In the overlap region 31 in the wall plate 18, the centering extension 40 is assigned a receiving pocket 107 corresponding to the cross section of the centering extension 40. A height 108 of the centering extension 40 corresponds approximately to half the total thickness 34 of the side wall part 3. A base thickness 109 of the centering extension is approximately 1/4 of the total thickness 34. A length 110 of the strip-shaped centering extension 40 is approximately approximately half the height 28 End face 30. Of course, it is also possible to arrange several such centering extensions 40 distributed over the height 28. Furthermore, it is also possible to arrange several truncated conical centering elements 111 instead of or in addition to the centering extension 40 over the height 28, which engage in corresponding bores 112 in the wall plate 18.

The preferably trapezoidal design of the centering extensions 40 achieves a play-free engagement of the centering extensions 40 in the receiving pockets 107. This also reduces the loads that occur when carrying the container on two opposite Side wall parts and generally occur on shorter side wall parts, effectively transferred to the adjacent side wall parts. This makes these containers suitable for higher weight capacities.

By means of the centering and / or locking elements 37 and the centering and / or locking receptacles 39 connecting device 35, an effective connection between the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 is achieved and bulging of the side wall parts when a load occurs on the side wall parts 3, 4 , 5,6 effectively prevented by a product stored in the container.

In this case, the base 2 has a bead-like elevation which runs parallel to the longitudinal and transverse side surfaces 7 and projects above the surface 10 in the direction of the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6. Transversely to its longitudinal extent, this is approximately in the form of a pent roof, a ridge running congruently with the longitudinal central axis 55 of the joint arrangement 8. In the edge strip 19 delimiting the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 in the direction of the base 2, a recess is arranged which is adapted to the cross-sectional shape of the bead-shaped elevation. This results in a cooperative backdrop formation, which interlocks in the erected position of the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6, and a pivoting of the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 into the position that is level with the bottom 2 results in resistance and thus the side wall parts 3 , 4,5,6 in the upright position.

This is formed by positioning elements 114, which are arranged in the circumferential direction of the container 1 at a distance from one another on the edge strips 57 delimiting the base 2, in particular are molded onto them and protrude the bottom 50. The positioning elements 114 are assigned groove-shaped receiving recesses 115 in the edge strips 19 forming the upper edge 42 and delimiting the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6. These receiving recesses 115 are delimited in the direction of the interior 9 of the container 1 by the wall plates 18. An intermediate space 116 between the edge strips 15 of the base 2 and the positioning element 114 has a width 117 which corresponds approximately to a thickness 118 of the wall plate 18.

Through this design of the positioning device 113, the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 in the stacked state of the container 1 in the area of the upper edge 42 between the edge strips 15 of the base 2 protruding into the interior 9 and the positioning elements 114 projecting from them on the outside of the wall plate 18 facing away from the interior 9. This ensures, on the one hand, that the stacked containers 1 are securely held one on top of the other and, on the other hand, loads acting on the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 from the interior 9 are absorbed by the positioning elements 114 or the base 2 of the container arranged above them. This prevents bulges in the side wall parts 3, 4, 5, 6 as well as overstressing the connecting devices 35.

Finally, it should also be pointed out that in each case individual combinations of features described in the individual exemplary embodiments, in particular those characterized in the subclaims, can also be independent and separate embodiments of the invention.

Furthermore, for a better understanding of the function of the container according to the invention, parts of the same are shown partly schematically and disproportionately.
