Description

The invention relates to a collapsible transport box, consisting of a base plate, four inwardly foldable side walls, each arranged in pairs opposite one another, and a plurality of hinges for articulating the side walls to the base plate, two side walls arranged opposite one another and the other two being arranged opposite one another Side walls are articulated indirectly to the base plate via edges directed substantially perpendicular to the base plate, and the side walls articulated via the edges to the base plate at their edges, which in the unfolded state extend perpendicular to the base plate and have stop strips running essentially over the entire length of the edges Guide elements and with resilient locking elements for connection to the side walls hinged directly to the base plate are provided in the opened state.

The known collapsible transport case from which the invention is based (cf. US Pat. No. 2,553,607) is extremely flat in the folded state and is therefore stowable and nevertheless very stable in the opened state. The stop strips on the side walls articulated over the edges of the base plate prevent the side walls articulated directly on the base plate from overlapping outwards. The guide elements are formed on these stop bars as guide bars projecting inwards on the free longitudinal edges. As a result, the stop bars have the shape of a “U • in horizontal section. The side walls hinged directly to the base plate are also angled in a horizontal section in a “U” shape at the edges that come into contact with the stop bars. The edge strips formed in this way nestle into the «U» -shaped stop strips in a form-fitting manner when the transport box is open. An inward folding of the side walls hinged directly to the base plate in the opened state of the transport box is prevented by latches which are pivotable in the vertical plane and loaded by spring elements and which are mounted on pivot axles on the side walls hinged to the base plate via the edges. These locking elements interact with locking lugs screwed onto the side walls hinged directly to the base plate.

Without a doubt, the known collapsible transport box explained above is practical to handle, very stable when opened and extremely reliable. However, the construction of this known collapsible transport box is relatively complicated with a large number of individual parts. In addition, the construction of this known collapsible transport box is also determined by the fact that it is made of metal. This is particularly evident in the previously described configuration of the guide elements and the relatively complicated configuration of the latching elements.

In addition, a collapsible transport box is known (see. DE-OS 24 36 254), which is intended and suitable in particular for a convenient production from plastic. However, this known transport box is inferior to the known metal transport box explained above in terms of stability when opened and in terms of reliability.

The invention is based on the object of structurally simplifying the collapsible transport box explained at the outset in a particularly suitable manner for the production from plastic.

The transport box according to the invention, in which the above-mentioned object is achieved, is characterized in that guide recesses for the guide elements are provided on the edges of the side walls articulated directly on the base plate in the opened state on the stop bars, that the latching elements each have one have one end and centrally connected to the corresponding side wall spring clip and a nose-like locking projection arranged at the free end of the spring clip and projecting towards the inside of the side wall and that for latching in the unfolded state, the nose-like locking projections of the locking elements surround the corresponding side walls on their inner sides. The assignment of guide recesses to the guide elements corresponds in a particularly expedient manner to the manufacturing possibilities when using plastic, in particular injectable plastic, when producing a transport box according to the invention. The same applies to the design of the locking elements provided according to the invention, which can be integrated excellently into the side walls with their spring clips and locking projections. The configuration of the locking elements according to the invention has the particular advantage that they frame the side walls which are hinged directly to the base plate as such, which results in a particularly stable locking.

Overall, the transport box explained above is structurally considerably simpler than the transport box from which the invention is based, namely, there are no “U” -shaped edge strips, swivel axes, spring clips and screwed-on latching lugs. Rather, the transport box according to the invention provides a completely integrated, particularly suitable construction for the production of plastic.

The locking elements of the transport box according to the invention should expediently be arranged in the upper third of the corresponding side walls, so that they are easily accessible when the transport box is open.

In the following, the invention is explained in more detail with reference to a drawing which only shows exemplary embodiments; it shows
  • FIG. 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of a collapsible transport box in a schematic illustration, partly in section,
  • Figure 2 shows a section through the object in Fig. 1 along the line 11-11 and
  • FIG. 3 shows a detail from the object according to FIG. 1 in the area 111 marked there.

The transport box 1 shown schematically in FIG. 1 basically consists of a base plate 2, four inwardly foldable side walls 3, 4 each arranged in pairs opposite one another and a plurality of hinges 5 for articulating the side walls 3, 4 on the base plate 2. Two each other opposite side walls 3 are hinged directly to the base plate 2. The two other side walls 4 arranged opposite one another are articulated indirectly to the base plate 2 via edges 6 directed essentially perpendicular to the base plate 2.

To connect the side walls 3, 4 to one another in the opened state, the side walls 4 are provided with guide elements 7 and the side walls 3 are provided with guide recesses 8 corresponding to the guide elements 7. For a stable connection of the side walls 3, 4 to each other, locking elements 9 are also provided on the side walls 4.

As can be seen particularly clearly from FIG. 2, edge pieces 10 are provided in the region of the side walls 3 hinged directly to the base plate 2 outside the hinges 5, essentially perpendicular to the base plate 2. The edge pieces 10 are formed in one piece with the base plate 2 and the edges 6, which results in a trough-like configuration of the base plate 2. The latter can be seen from Fig. 1. Due to the trough-like design of the base plate 2 by means of the edges 6 and the edge pieces 10, the transport box 1 shown is also suitable for transporting moist or wet objects.

From Fig. 2 it also follows that the side walls 3 hinged directly to the base plate 2 are each provided with a sealing strip 11 on their lower edges. The sealing strip 11 provides additional security against liquid running out and also additional stabilization of the transport box 1 as a whole.

As can further be seen from FIG. 1, the side walls 4 articulated via the edges 6 to the base plate 2 are in their opened edges perpendicular to the base plate 2 with edges 12 running essentially over the entire length of the edges 12 for the immediate provided on the base plate 2 hinged side walls 3. A particularly stable connection of the side walls 3, 4 is made possible in the opened state of the transport box 1 via the stop bars 13, and in the long term an unintentional outward folding of the side walls 3 is reliably prevented.

As can be seen particularly clearly from FIG. 3, the locking elements 9 are arranged on the side walls 4 hinged to the base plate 2 via the edges 6 and are designed as resilient locking lugs. The latching elements 9 have in detail a spring clip 14 connected at one end and centrally to the corresponding side wall 4 and a nose-like latching projection 15 arranged at the free end of the spring clip 14 and projecting towards the inside of the side wall 4. In the opened state of the side walls 3, 4, the side walls 3 come to rest against the stop strips 13 of the side walls 4, a connection being established between the side walls 3, 4 via the guide elements 7 and the guide recesses 8. For locking, the side walls 3 are gripped on their inner sides by the locking elements 9, d. H. the nose-like locking projection 15 of each locking element 9 in each case grips behind the corresponding side wall 3.

The collapsible transport box 1 explained above is structurally very simple and particularly suitable for production from plastic.
