Definitions
- the invention relates to a base for a document shredder, consisting of a frame and a paper container.
- a document shredder with a substructure which consists of a frame and a paper container, has already become known from DE-PS 22 09 431.
- the document shredder stands on a tubular support frame into which the paper container is inserted and released from a carrying function.
- the support frame consists of two closed tubes and is arranged on both sides next to the document shredder.
- the paper container is inserted between the two halves of the support frame.
- the disadvantage here is that the exterior of the document shredder is impaired by the support frame arranged on both sides. Compared to the widespread document shredder provided with a cabinet-like substructure, the exterior of such a device drops sharply.
- the invention has for its object to provide a substructure for a document shredder, the frame and paper container can be manufactured inexpensively and which is optically as a document shredder with a cabinet base.
- the frame of the substructure according to the invention is formed only by an approximately vertically arranged rear section, an approximately horizontally angled upper section as a storage surface for the document shredder and an approximately horizontally angled lower section results in a very simple structure, so that the frame is inexpensive can be produced. Since the frame has a smaller width than the paper collecting container, and since the paper collecting container has open recesses for the sections of the frame on its rear side, the paper collecting container pushed under the document shredder essentially covers the frame. This gives the impression that it is a cabinet-like substructure. This gives the device an appealing, office-friendly appearance. The sections of the frame are essentially, possibly also completely covered by the paper container.
- the frame can be designed both as a bent sheet metal part and as a tubular construction. Both solutions are technically very easy to implement and also require a relatively small amount of material. If the sections of the frame are designed as a bent sheet metal part, it is advantageous if angled edge surfaces are provided which increase the stability of these sections. Stand areas are advantageously arranged below the approximately horizontally angled lower sections of the frame. These stand areas can protrude beyond the lower section of the frame and thus increase the stability of the document shredder. It can be achieved in such a way that the paper collecting container can be designed freely in its shape without having to take into account the requirements for stability.
- the paper collecting container is designed as a plastic injection-molded part. In the interest of low tool costs, it is also advantageous if the paper collection container is made in one piece. Due to the production as a plastic injection molded part, it is very easy to arrange the open recesses required for the sections of the frame on the rear according to the invention.
- the paper collecting container preferably has approximately the same width on its upper side as the document shredder arranged on the frame. This results in a uniform design of the device. From a spraying point of view, there is a further advantage for the paper collection container, provided that its side surfaces or its front surface are guided obliquely downwards. Such a design favors also the emptying of the paper container. Last but not least, interesting design effects can be achieved. Not least because of the arrangement of the frame that is not visible when the paper container is inserted, there are surprising design options.
- FIG. 1 denotes a document shredder which is arranged on a substructure which consists of a frame 2 and a paper collecting container 3.
- a frame 2 formed as a bent sheet metal part has an approximately vertically arranged rear section 4, an approximately horizontally angled upper section 5 as a storage surface for the document shredder 1 and an approximately horizontally angled lower section 6.
- Sections 4, 5 and 6 of frame 2 have chamfered edge surfaces 7 to increase stability. These edge surfaces 7 can be seen in particular from FIG. 3 of the drawing.
- Standing surfaces 8 are arranged on the approximately horizontally angled lower section 6 of the frame 2. These standing surfaces 8 protrude beyond the lower section 6 and increase the stability of the document shredder 1.
- the paper container 3 is provided on its back with open recesses 9. These recesses 9 are injected into the paper collecting container 3 designed as a plastic injection molded part.
- the paper collecting container 3 which is shown here in dashed lines in its position pushed into the device, engages with its recesses 9 over the sections 4, 5 and 6 of the frame 2.
- the frame 2 is also essentially laterally covered by the paper collecting container. 4 that the frame 2 is completely invisible here.
- the paper collecting container 3 such a shape that the frame 2 is also completely covered in the side view. Only the standing surfaces 8 attached to the lower section 6 of the frame 2 protrude from the paper collecting container 3.
- Fig. 4 of the drawing it can also be seen that the side surfaces 10 of the paper collecting container 3 are guided obliquely downwards. The same applies, as can be seen from FIG. 1, to a front surface 11 of the paper collecting container 3.
- the front surface 11 of the paper collecting container also protrudes beyond the document shredder 1. This results in an insertion opening 12 for crumpled paper above the front surface 11 of the paper collecting container 3.
- the document shredder 1 is carried by the frame 2.
- the paper container 3 is simply pushed under and does not have a carrying function. Since the frame 2 is essentially invisible, the device is given a solid, compact shape, the paper collecting container 3 optically creating the impression of a supporting substructure.
- FIG. 5 of the drawing shows an alternative embodiment of a frame 2 with a document shredder 1 in the front view.
- the frame 2 is designed here as a tubular construction and has a vertically arranged section 13, a horizontally angled upper section 14 and a horizontally angled lower section 15.
- the horizontally angled upper section 14 also serves here as a storage area for the document shredder 1.
- standing areas 8 are also arranged here on the lower section 15.
- the recesses 9 of the paper collecting container which are open at the rear are dimensioned here such that they grip over the sections 13, 14 and 15 of the frame 2 and cover them when the paper collecting container 3 is inserted.
- the frame 2 is essentially not visible when the paper collecting container 3 is inserted.
- the document shredder 1 and the substructure consisting of frame 2 and paper collecting container 3 are separate components.
- the document shredder 1 in its simplest form is also sold as an attachment for conventional wastepaper baskets.
- the solution according to the invention enables the user to subsequently make the device user-friendly and visually appealing.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a base for a document shredder, consisting of a frame and a paper container.
A document shredder with a substructure, which consists of a frame and a paper container, has already become known from DE-PS 22 09 431. Here the document shredder stands on a tubular support frame into which the paper container is inserted and released from a carrying function. The support frame consists of two closed tubes and is arranged on both sides next to the document shredder. The paper container is inserted between the two halves of the support frame. The disadvantage here is that the exterior of the document shredder is impaired by the support frame arranged on both sides. Compared to the widespread document shredder provided with a cabinet-like substructure, the exterior of such a device drops sharply.
The same applies to the already known document shredders, which are placed directly on a waste paper basket. Systems of this type also generally do not form an optical unit. In addition, they have the decisive disadvantage that the actual document shredder must be lifted off and put down to empty the wastebasket. In addition, particles and paper dust usually escape from the cutting unit and pollute the office.
The invention has for its object to provide a substructure for a document shredder, the frame and paper container can be manufactured inexpensively and which is optically as a document shredder with a cabinet base.
This object is achieved by the features of
The fact that the frame of the substructure according to the invention is formed only by an approximately vertically arranged rear section, an approximately horizontally angled upper section as a storage surface for the document shredder and an approximately horizontally angled lower section results in a very simple structure, so that the frame is inexpensive can be produced.
The frame can be designed both as a bent sheet metal part and as a tubular construction.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the paper collecting container is designed as a plastic injection-molded part. In the interest of low tool costs, it is also advantageous if the paper collection container is made in one piece. Due to the production as a plastic injection molded part, it is very easy to arrange the open recesses required for the sections of the frame on the rear according to the invention.
The paper collecting container preferably has approximately the same width on its upper side as the document shredder arranged on the frame.

In the drawing, 1 denotes a document shredder which is arranged on a substructure which consists of a
From Fig. 2 of the drawing it can be seen that the
From the side view according to FIG. 1 of the drawing it can be seen that the
From Fig. 4 of the drawing it can also be seen that the side surfaces 10 of the
Basically, it must be pointed out that the
Fundamentally, the
