Abstract

A device for forming a connecting transition bridge expansion joint between two surfaces having hard coverings abutting one another at right angles is located between a wall and the floor, where the surfaces are preferably covered with ceramic tiles. The bridge device includes a plastic wall angle section to be secured onto the wall. The wall angle section includes a cross-sectional, approximately Z-shaped plastic angle section to be secured onto the wall and has an elastically linked wall-connecting leg. The wall-connecting leg is displaceably received in a pocket which is formed within the plastic floor angle section securable onto the floor. An angular bend is molded onto the inner leg of the floor pocket receiving the wall-connecting leg. The angular bend forms an additional cavity for receiving the edges of the abutting ceramic tiles. The angular bend is covered by a transition section strip having approximately triangularly-shaped cross-section, which section strip is preferably made of an elastic material.

Eine solche Vorrichtung aus entsprechenden Winkelprofilen aus Kunststoff ist aus der DE-A- 35 03 396 bekannt. Mit einer solchen Vorrichtung, die im wesentlichen aus zwei Winkelprofilen aus Kunststoff besteht, können in der Praxis auftretende Bewegungen der Belagflächen infolge von Veränderungen im Aufbau vor allem des Bodens und aufgrund von Thermospannungen in ausreichendem Maße ausgeglichen werden. Sie finden insbesondere dann Verwendung, wenn die Bodenbelagflächen auf einem Untergrund mit Dämmschichten, wie beispielsweise Styropor als Wärmedämm- oder Schalldämmaßnahmen, verlegt worden sind. Die dabei verwendeten Styroporplatten oder Glasfasermatten sinken im Laufe der Zeit zusammen, so daß sich der Boden in relativ starkem Maße absenkt. Als schwierig erweist sich in der Praxis beim Einsatz derartiger Vorrichtungen mit den beiden Winkelprofilen aus Kunststoff die Ausbildung der Abstandsfuge zwischen den angrenzenden Keramikplatten und dem Begrenzungsschenkel des bodenseitig befestigbaren Winkelprofiles. Aufgrund unzureichender Winkligkeit von Boden- und Wandflächen und der Tatsache, daß die angrenzenden Plattenkanten in der Regel geschnitten werden müssen, ergeben sich Unregelmäßigkeiten im Bild der Fuge, die in der Regel mit Fugenmörtel ausgefüllt wird. Im Zuge der zunehmenden Verwendung von sogenanntem Recyclingmaterial erweist sich bei der bekannten Konstruktion außerdem die Tatsache als nachteilig, daß der Übergangsbereich vom wandseitig befestigbaren Winkelprofil aus Kunststoff zum bodenseitig befestigbaren Winkelprofil sichtbar ist. Winkelprofile aus solchem Recyclingmaterial haben starke Unterschiede in der Farbgebung. In der am bodenseitig zu befestigenden Winkelprofil vorgesehenen Tasche werden die Kanten der angrenzenden Keramikplatten aufgenommen, so daß die entstehende Fuge von außen nicht sichtbar ist. Die überdeckend angeordnete Übergangsprofilleiste gestaltet einen ansprechenden Übergang vom Boden zur Wand und deckt den bei der bekannten Vorrichtung von außen sichtbaren Teil des Anschlußschenkels des wandseitig zu befestigenden Winkelprofiles ab. Daher lassen sich für beide Winkelprofile Kunststoffrecyclingmaterialien einsetzen. Lediglich die Übergangsprofilleiste wird aus einheitlich eingefärbtem Material hergestellt. Dieses Material kann auch bei einteilig hergestelltem bodenseitig zu befestigenden Winkelprofil im Koextrusionsverfahren angeformt werden mit Weicheinstellung, so daß das Winkelprofil selbst wiederum aus Recyclingmaterial bestehen kann. Claims (5)

  1. Apparatus for providing a connection transition between two surfaces which abut against each other at right angles and are provided with rigid coverings, more especially between a wall and the floor which are covered with ceramic tiles, wherein a plastics material angular profile, which is to be secured on the wall surface and has a substantially Z-shaped cross-section, is displaceably accommodated by means of a connection portion resiliently joined to a connection web, in a pocket cavity of a plastics material angular profile, which is securable on the floor surface, said pocket cavity being formed from two portions, which extend parallel to each other and lie perpendicular to a securing portion, characterised in that an angle (75) is moulded to fit terminally on the internal portion (73) of the pocket cavity (74), which accommodates the connection portion (64), so as to be orientated inwardly substantially parallel to the securing portion (71) of the angular profile to be secured on the floor surface, said angle forming a pocket cavity (77) for accommodating the edges of the adjacent ceramic tiles (4), and in that a transitional profile strip (76), which covers this angle (75) and the connection portion (64) of the angular profile (6) to be secured on the wall surface, is provided.

Apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the connection portion (64) is moulded to fit in a totally soft-set manner on the connection web (62), formed from hard plastics material and extending to a securing portion (61) of the angular profile (6), which is to be secured on the wall surface.

Apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that a strip (8) of soft plastics material is moulded to fit at the upper end of the external portion (72) of the pocket cavity (74), which accommodates the connection portion (64), preferably as a result of the soft-set configuration of the end section of the external portion (72).
