Description

The invention relates to a plate-shaped square paving stone with a flat surface and strip-shaped extensions extending perpendicularly to the side surfaces, each side surface having two extensions.

It is known to arrange two strip-shaped approaches in the rare surfaces of plate-shaped paving stones (EP-A-0 274 344, DE-U-87 17 484), which act as spacers and allow the formation of joints that can be filled with humus or minerals. While in the paving stone of EP-A-0 274 344 one of the approaches near the diagonally opposite corner edge of two opposite side surfaces, which can be curved, are arranged, the approaches in DE-GM-87 17 484 take in the Side surfaces larger distances from the corner edges. In the known paving stones, only a few laying combinations are possible, the paving stone of EP-A-0 274 344 giving rise to confusing joint designs.

It is an object of the invention to provide a paving stone which is suitable for a large number of laying combinations while maintaining symmetrically straight joints.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the side faces each have two approaches at a distance from one another, one of which is arranged at diagonal corner areas of adjacent side faces and that the other approach of each Side surface is formed at a distance from the other two diagonal corner areas in the side surfaces. In this way, the paving stones can be laid with a wide and small spacing when the lugs are mutually supported and with a small spacing in the case of intermediate support, whereby joints of different widths can be achieved. In addition, the paving stone gives the option of wide or small distances for cross-braid laying (row arrangement) or for running bandage laying (staggered arrangement), whereby a variety of laying combinations can be achieved. In addition, the arrangement of the corner edges of approaches makes the laying clear, which makes it easier for less experienced layers to lay the paving stones. The two approaches of each side surface are expediently formed with equal distances in the side surfaces.

It is further provided that the approaches to the formation of a trapezoidal cross section towards the projecting free end are limited by side surfaces which extend obliquely to one another. The cross-sectional shape of the approaches makes it easier to shape the paving stones in concrete tools. In addition, there is provision for the height of the approaches to be the same as the paving stone thickness. It is also conceivable to design the approaches with a smaller height than the paving stone thickness, the approaches ending below the surface. The last-mentioned formation, like approaches which are limited over a partial height in the direction of the surface extending inclined surfaces, has the advantage that optically coherent joints can be formed during the grouting.

In a modification of the formation of the paving stone, one approach to each of the two associated ones is provided To arrange corner edges of two opposite side surfaces and to arrange the approaches of the other two side surfaces at a slightly greater distance than the length, when looking at the flat surface of the paving stone, of the approaches arranged on the corner edges from the corner edges. This design of the approaches also provides the advantages mentioned above with regard to possible laying distances and types of laying.

It is understood that the approaches of this paving stone to facilitate shaping can also be limited towards the protruding free end by obliquely extending side surfaces. In addition, the approaches can be carried out at the same height or at a lower height than the paving stone thickness.

Finally, there is the possibility of limiting the projections at the upper end by means of an inclined surface which extends in the direction of the surface.

The plate-shaped paving stone 1 of FIGS. 1 to 3 and 8 has a flat surface 2 and is designed with a square cross section in the exemplary embodiment. On the side surfaces 3 of the paving stone 1 two lugs 4 'and 4''are formed, such that on diagonally opposite corner edges 5 of adjacent side surfaces each have a lug 4' and at a slightly greater distance than the length when viewed on the plane Surface of the paving stone, the approach 4 'from the two other diagonally opposite corner edges 6 each have an approach 4''. The approaches 4 'and 4''form support members for the paving stones. The approaches 4 ', 4''point in the embodiment trapezoidal cross-section. For this purpose, the vertical side faces 7 of the lugs 4 'and 4''are formed obliquely outwards and extending towards one another. Furthermore, the approaches 4 ', 4''are delimited over a partial height in the direction of the surface 2 by inclined surfaces 19 (FIG. 8).

In the paving stone 9 of FIGS. 4 to 6, side surfaces 13 and 15 each have two shoulders 12 'and 12' '. The lugs 12 'are each arranged on one of the two associated corner edges of mutually opposite side surfaces 13 and the lugs 12 at a slightly greater distance than the length, when looking at the flat surface of the paving stone, of the lugs 12' from the corner edges 14 on the two other side surfaces arranged. The lugs 12 'and 12' 'in turn, as can be seen in particular in FIG. 4, have a trapezoidal cross-sectional shape due to inclined side surfaces 20. In the exemplary embodiment, the projections 12 ′, 12 ″ extend approximately over the entire thickness of the paving stone or end by means of inclined surfaces 21 at a short distance from the surface 2 thereof (FIG. 5).

In the laying example of the paving stones 1 in Fig. 9, the paving stones 1 with their approaches 4 ', 4' and 4 '', 4 '' are supported on one another, which results in wide spacing joints 17 which e.g. can be filled with humus soil. The cross structure achieved in this way is particularly suitable for parking areas or terraces, which are areas with expected low loads.

Fahrbahnbereiche, beitragen. The paving stones 1 according to the laying example of FIG. 10 are also laid in a cross structure to one another, but in such a way that the lugs 4 'and 4''are each supported on adjacent paving stones 1. This creates spacing joints 18 with half the width, which can advantageously be filled with chippings and contribute to heavy-duty paving, e.g. road areas.

In Fig. 11, the paving stones 1 are laid in the runner association in such a way that the lugs 4 'and 4' 'are supported on adjacent staggered paving stones 1. In this installation example, there are spacing joints 18 of small width, which can preferably be filled with chippings.

Hierbei stützen sich benachbarte Pflastersteine 9 unter Bildung breiter Abstandsfugen mit ihren Ansätzen 12', 12' und 12'', 12'' aufeinander ab (Kreuzverband).FIG. 12 shows an example of laying with paving stones 9 according to FIG. 4. In this case, adjacent paving stones 9 are supported on one another with their projections 12 ', 12' and 12 '', 12 '' (cross bracing) to form wide spacing joints.

According to the laying example in FIG. 13, the paving stones 9 are laid in a cross structure, but with narrow spacing joints 18. For this purpose, the lugs 12 'are supported. 12 ″ each directly on adjacent paving stones 9.

In the laying example of FIG. 14, the paving stones 9 are laid offset in the runner structure, adjacent paving stones 9 with the extensions 12 ′, 12 ′ or 12 ″, 12 ″ being supported on one another and forming wide spacing joints 17.

In the laying example of FIG. 15, the paving stones 9 are laid offset in the runner structure, the lugs 12 ′, 12 ″ being supported on adjacent paving stones 9. Narrow spacing joints 18 can be formed here.
