Definitions

  • the invention relates to a packaging container with an inner bag for holding liquids according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Containers of the aforementioned type are used for packaging liquids as a replacement for containers made of plastic material or sheet metal.
  • a packaging container can be pre-glued as a flat-lying folding box, in which a plastic tube is arranged, fed to a packaging machine in which the flat-lying folding box is erected, the plastic tube contained therein is sealed, and it is finally closed by folding and gluing tabs.
  • Filling is carried out before the plastic tube is sealed and the folding box closed, or, if a sealing spout is attached before the plastic tube is closed, after the plastic tube has been sealed and the folding box has been closed through the sealing spout.
  • folding boxes with inner bags are that they require much less plastic material to hold a given amount of liquid than a plastic bottle of the appropriate filling volume, and that they can be compressed very easily after use, so that their disposal compared to that of plastic bottles or tin cans or cans is significantly simplified.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a packaging container made of cardboard with an inner bag for holding liquids of the type mentioned, which is similar in appearance to that of a bottle and can be easily manufactured, filled and emptied.
  • the invention specifies a packaging container which roughly resembles an upright bottle in which liquid washing concentrates are usually offered.
  • Such bottles generally have a slim shape with a substantially oval or rectangular cross-section which tapers upwards.
  • the beveling of at least one of the longitudinal edges of the main sides of the packaging container defines a clear “top” and “bottom” and roughly approximates the shape of a conventional washing concentrate bottle, which has a favorable effect on the consumer's decision to buy.
  • the invention makes it possible to provide the blanks in continuous operation with inner bag material which is produced from a flat film web, since the weld seam for forming a tube from the film web runs in the same direction in which the pre-glued blank is continuous to a flat-lying folding box, ie cutting out, providing the plastic tube, folding over and pre-gluing the blank can be carried out in a single operation on a continuous machine. It is also essential for folding boxes that are to be provided with a pouring spout and closure spout, that in the area in which the spout is to be attached, namely at the Top of the packaging container, there is no weld seam of the inner bag, as this could impair the tight connection of the spout to the inner bag.
  • the invention enables the creation of packaging containers which are provided with a filling and pouring spout onto which a screw cap can be screwed, as well as the creation of packaging containers in which a pouring opening is opened by loosening an adhesive flap of the folding box, pulling up a side wall section thereof and cutting it off an exposed corner of the inner bag is formed.
  • Packaging containers of the latter type are intended in particular for those applications in which the contents are emptied completely at once, for example for refilling another container.
  • the invention can also be carried out in such a way that only one of the side edges of the main surfaces of the packaging container has a bevel, so that overall an asymmetrical shape of the packaging container is achieved.
  • Such shapes can also be found in conventional plastic bottles for holding washing concentrates on the market.
  • the invention makes it possible to provide bevels on both sides of said main surface in order to create an overall symmetrical container. It is also possible to provide bevels in the lower area of the folding box comparable to those in the upper area. In this way, a packaging container can be realized, the main surfaces of which are each octagonal.
  • the invention also provides a solution to the problem, in which the upper region of the folding box is provided with rounded shoulders on both sides of the head side, in order to simulate a correspondingly shaped surface by packaging made of cardboard with an inner bag.
  • FIG. 1A shows in solid lines one side of a blank for a packaging container according to the invention which is glued into a flat-lying folding box. It should be noted that the dashed areas in FIG. 1A in the case of the pre-glued, flat-lying folding box relate to sections thereof on the other side of the blank. For the rest, the parts of the blank parts lying on the other side, which are visible through cutouts, are shown hatched in FIGS. 1A and 1B.
  • dash-dotted lines denote folding lines on which the corresponding cut parts from the drawing plane according to FIG. 1A are folded back when the folding box is erected and closed.
  • Short dashed lines are fold lines on which folding occurs when the folding box is erected from the drawing plane to the front.
  • a main surface 1 of rectangular shape can be seen in FIG. 1A.
  • a bottom flap 2 adjoins the main surface 1, which, in the pre-glued state of the flat-lying folding box, lies on the back of the illustration in FIG. 1A and is therefore shown in broken lines here (see FIG. 1B).
