A box according to one of claims 1 to 4 characterised in that the free end of the pushrod (10) is provided with an inclined run-on surface (14) at the upper edge which faces towards the lid portion (2) and the receiving compartment (7) has a bottom plate (15) which is pivotable about an axis approximately parallel to the longitudinal direction of the pushrod (10), in the region of the bottom surface (1.3) of the bottom portion (1), the bottom plate (15) being provided at its underside in the region of the push (10) with a sliding surface (16) which bears against the inclined run-on surface (14).
  9. A box according to claim 8 characterised in that the inclined run-on surface (14) is provided with an edge strip (17) which is oriented perpendicularly to the pushrod (10) and which projects towards the bottom plate (15).
  10. A box according to claim 8 or claim 9 characterised in that the sliding surface (16) is formed by a plate portion which is bent up out of the plane of the bottom plate (15) approximately parallel to the inclined run-on surface (14).
  11. A box according to claims 8 to 10 characterised in that, at its edge remote from the sliding surface (16), the bottom plate (15) has a mounting projection (18) which engages into an opening in the partitioning wall (13) which delimits the receiving compartment (7) in the bottom portion (1).
  12. A box according to claims 8 to 11 characterised in that provided in the receiving compartment (7) is a second bottom plate (15) which is also hingedly connected in the region of the bottom surface (1.3) of the bottom portion (1) with an axis parallel to that of the other bottom plate (15), wherein the two bottom plates (15) cross each other in a scissor-like configuration and are hingedly connected together in the region in which they cross.

A box according to claim 12 characterised in that the two bottom plates (15) are each provided with a slot (19) which extends parallel to the hinging axis and which extends from the middle in respectively opposite directions to the respective edge, wherein each slot (19) receives therein the respective other bottom plate (15) and the slot (19) is of a width which permits mutual motion clearance.
  14. A box according to one of claims 1 to 13 characterised in that pivotably mounted to one of the pivotal inserts (3, 4) is an insert portion (20) which, for each of its two pivotal directions, has an abutment for limiting the pivotal movement, on the pushrod (10).
  15. A box according to claim 14 characterised in that the insert portion (20) is in the form of a U-shaped member, wherein the two limbs of the U-shaped receive the push (10) between them and form the respective abutment.
  16. A box according to one of claims 1 to 13 characterised in that pivotably mounted to one of the pivotal inserts (3, 4) is an insert portion (20) to which the pushrod (10) is fixedly connected.
  17. A box according to claim 16 characterised in that the insert portion (20) and the push (10) are formed integrally with each other and are formed from a single sheet material blank.
