By lightly pressing on the clamping screw 16, which is partially unscrewed, for example, as can be seen in FIG. 5, it is possible to press the box frame downwards, the support leg 26 provided with the cam 28 bending outward until the upper transverse web 36 of the box frame 14 past the cam 28. This automatically prevents the box frame 14 from sliding back, as a result of which the distance between the lower crosspiece 34 of the box frame and the lower transverse side 24 of the terminal frame 12 changes.

Claims (9)

  1. Screw-type terminal (10) for an electrical accessory, in particular circuit breaker, for the connection of one and/or more connecting wires or connecting bars (18), having an integral rectangular terminal frame (12), the upper transverse side (20) of which has a recess for accommodating a clamping screw (16) which cooperates with a box-type frame (14) which reaches in a loop shape through the terminal frame (12) and, in its upper transverse web (36) adjoining the upper transverse side (20) of the terminal frame (12), has a threaded bore, the terminal frame (12) being designed as an open ring, and a defined gap "x" being provided between its upper transverse side (20) and the free end (27) of a longitudinal side which forms a supporting limb (26) and is shorter than the opposite longitudinal side (22) of the terminal frame (12), characterized in that the side walls (30) of the box-type frame (14), which are arranged off-set at right angles to the longitudinal sides of the terminal frame (12), are provided with slots (32), in which guide lugs (25) integrally formed on the lower transverse side (24) of the terminal frame (12) engage and are guided by these guide lugs (23), in that the upper transverse side (20) resiliently approaches the free end (27) of the supporting limb (26) as the clamping screw (16) is screwed tight, in that, for the purpose of saving material, the longitudinal side of the terminal frame (12) which forms the supporting limb (26) is no more than half the width of the longitudinal side (22) of the terminal frame (12) which is arranged opposite the latter and is connected to the upper and the lower transverse side (20, 24) and is provided with an inward-pointing bulge (28) which comes to rest resiliently on the upper transverse web (36) of the box-type frame (14) and secures the latter in at least two positions against displacement in the terminal frame (12).
  2. Screw-type terminal according to Claim 1, characterized in that the bulge (28) is arranged near to the free end (27) of the longitudinal side of the terminal frame (12) which forms the supporting limb (26) and is preferably of conical construction, and in that the bulge (28) reaches into the space bounded by the two side walls (30) as well as by the lower and upper transverse web (34, 36) of the box-type terminal (14).
  3. Screw-type terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a retention flank (23) is formed integrally on both sides of the longitudinal side (22) of the terminal frame (12) which is connected to the upper and the lower transverse side (20, 24), said retention flank serving as a sliding and supporting surface for the box-type frame (14), which is arranged displaceably in the terminal frame, and preventing its twisting or tilting.
  4. Screw-type terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a conductor piece which serves for the connection to a functional part, e.g. contact point, of the electromagnetic accessory, is formed integrally on the longitudinal side (22) connected to the upper and lower transverse side (20, 24) of the terminal frame (12).
  5. Screw-type terminal according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the longitudinal side (22) provided with the retention flanks is provided with recesses which serve for the fixing and centring of a conductor piece which is secured on the longitudinal side.
  6. Screw-type terminal according to Claim 5, characterized in that the conductor piece is welded to the longitudinal side (22).
  7. Screw-type terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the clamping screw (16) has a screwed shank provided with a thread as far as the screw head.
  8. Screw-type terminal according to Claim 7, characterized in that the length of the screwed shank of the clamping screw (16) corresponds to the clearance between the outer side of the upper transverse side (20) and the inner side of the lower transverse side (24) of the terminal frame (12).
  9. Screw-type terminal according to Claim 8, characterized in that, as the clamping screw (16) is screwed tight, the lower transverse web (34) of the box-type frame (14) is pulled towards the lower transverse side (24), against the inner side of which the end of the clamping screw (16) rests and thus directs the applied clamping force into the clamping screw (16), with the result that the longitudinal sides (22, 26) of the terminal frame (12) are unstressed.
