Description

The invention relates to a hearing aid for the hearing impaired, in particular to behind-the-ear device, with a hearing device parts, such as a microphone, amplifier, earpiece, battery, etc., housing, the parts of which are held together by releasable connecting elements, such as screws, and with an audio input connector.

The audio input is an electrical contact device, via which a sound-frequency electrical signal can be directly - galvanically - fed into the hearing aid amplifier. The audio input is often used in schools for the hearing impaired in connection with a "frequent hearing facility" or with FM or infrared transmission systems and the like. But also in the private area the hearing impaired can be used by many additional devices such as hand microphones, TV Adapters, portable cassette players, etc., which can be connected to the audio input, benefit.

Electrically speaking, the audio input is a contact device that enables the connection of the output cable of an external signal source either via a pin / socket combination or via a pressure contact.

Due to the notorious lack of space in modern behind-the-ear devices, the contact devices differ from brand to brand and often even from model to model from a single manufacturer. This has led to an unimaginably high number of different plugs and cables, especially in schools for the hard of hearing.

The so-called "audio shoe" was proposed as a way out of this situation. It is a cup-like structure that clamps or snaps around the lower part of the hearing aid. On the inside, the audio shoe has contact springs which are in line with the individual contact devices of the hearing aid in question, and on the outside there is a socket for two or three sockets has a standard Euro audio plug. Such an audio shoe is described for example in DE-PS 27 51 755. However, a special manufacturer-specific audio shoe is required for each hearing aid type.

Due to the ongoing miniaturization of all individual parts, even behind-the-ear hearing aids are getting smaller, so that there is less and less space for the contact device for an audio input in the most modern miniature constructions. This has resulted in numerous miniature hearing aids with no audio input on the market today, which would be particularly suitable for children, but can only be used by them to a limited extent. Solutions according to DE-GM 83 19 075, where it is proposed to attach the plug-in device for the audio input in the form of a "backpack" on the outside of the device, offer a way out. However, this solution is not very attractive because it enlarges the device as a whole and the backpack is also available when the audio input is not required.

The object of the invention is to provide a hearing aid of the type mentioned at the outset which eliminates the disadvantages described.

This is achieved according to the invention in that the audio input connection takes place via at least two of the connecting elements holding the detachable housing parts together.

The invention thus proposes to use at least two of the connecting elements that are present anyway, such as screws, by means of which the two halves of the device housing are held together, as a contact device for the audio input.

This solution has the advantage that no special housing and no additional space for the contact device is required. Furthermore, when the audio shoe is removed, no components that increase the dimensions of the device are required.

  • Fig. 1 eine perspektivische Ansicht eines HdO-Hörgerätes, bei welchem erfindungsgemäße Audio-Eingangs-Anschlüsse vorgesehen werden können;
  • Fig. 2 einen Schnitt durch das Hörgerätegehäuse im Bereich der Verbindungselemente;
  • Fig. 3 eine Draufsicht auf die untere Gehäuseschale mit einem gabelförmigen Anschlußkontakt;
The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the drawings. The drawings show:
  • 1 shows a perspective view of a BTE hearing aid in which audio input connections according to the invention can be provided;
  • 2 shows a section through the hearing aid housing in the region of the connecting elements;
  • 3 shows a plan view of the lower housing shell with a fork-shaped connection contact;
  • Fig. 4 shows a section through part of a hearing aid housing with an attached audio shoe.

Fig. 1 shows schematically a BTE device housing, which as usual consists of two shell halves (1, 2) and is held together by the screws (3, 4, 5), of which the screws (3, 4) as connections for the audio - Entrance can be used.

Der Stehbolzen 6 kann mit der Unterschale 2 mitgespritzt sein und besteht in diesem Fall aus Kunststoff.2 shows in detail a sectional view of the inner construction of the housing in the area of one of the connecting elements 3 or 4. A metallic stud 6 with an internal thread is injected into the lower shell 2. A screw 3, which holds the upper shell 1, is screwed into this. The stud 6 can be molded with the lower shell 2 and in this case is made of plastic.

In order to be able to use the screw 3 as a contact for an attached audio shoe, it is necessary to electrically connect the stud 6 to the circuit of the hearing aid. This is done with the aid of a compression spring 8, which in turn is attached to the amplifier board 7 by riveting or soldering. If there is no space for this, you can contact the stud 6 - or in the event that this is made of plastic, the screw 3 itself - with the help of a hairpin-like fork spring.

Man kann den Anschlußdraht 10 auch - als nicht lösbare Verbindung - an den Bolzen 6 anschweißen.3 shows such a solution as a top view of the lower shell 2. A connecting wire 10 can be soldered to the fork spring 9. Direct soldering to the stud is generally not advisable, since there is a risk of the housing being damaged by the soldering heat. You can also weld the connecting wire 10 - as a non-releasable connection - to the bolt 6.

Fig. 4 shows in section a part of the housing in the area of the connecting element with an attached audio shoe 11. The shoe 11 contains resilient sleeves 12 for the euro audio connector, which make a connection to the housing screws via attached contact springs 13.

It has turned out to be advantageous if the head of the screw serving as contact is conical and the end of the contact spring 14 has the shape of a spherical cap. These two parts then form a clean, self-cleaning contact when the audio shoe is placed on the hearing aid. The housing is therefore not damaged by the contact springs. It is also advantageous to at least lower the screw heads serving as contacts so far in the housing 1 that they cannot make contact with the skin of the hearing device wearer in the use position of the device in order to avoid undesired electrical effects or interference if no audio shoe is fitted is.

The resulting recesses in the housing can serve in cooperation with the spherical end of the contact springs 14 as a locking device for the entire audio shoe 11.

Of course, a separate locking device is also possible. In addition to the screws commonly used, other known embodiments, such as latching elements, can be used as the connecting elements holding the housing parts together. Microphone, amplifier, handset, battery, operating elements etc. are not shown in the figures since they are not essential for the present invention. These parts are accommodated in the housing or on the outside thereof in accordance with the prior art.
