Description

The invention relates to a suction nozzle for suction cleaning devices for cleaning surfaces of different nature of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1.

For cleaning surfaces, in particular for their dry cleaning, generally known suction cleaning devices are used, which are connected in terms of flow via a suction line to a suction tool which is moved over the surface to be cleaned. The suction tool, which is preferably guided by hand with reciprocating movements over the surface to be cleaned, and which is detachably connected to the suction line leading to the suction cleaning device and can be connected again, is generally also referred to as a suction nozzle. These suction nozzles generally have a narrow, rectangular suction opening, through which the suction air flow generated by the suction cleaning device flows in at high speed and entrains dust and dirt particles from the area surrounding the slit-shaped suction opening, the suction nozzle lying on the surface to be cleaned being moved back and forth across the surface. Since the surfaces to be cleaned are of different properties, e.g. hard surfaces with tiles or linoleum and soft surfaces such as textile floor coverings or carpets, it is necessary to achieve the best possible cleaning with the greatest possible protection of these surfaces, the design of the suction nozzle, in particular the slit-shaped suction opening surrounding area to adapt to the nature of the surface to be cleaned. For example, to vacuum smooth, flat surfaces, the surrounding area of the suction opening is bristled. With this bristle, the suction nozzle lies on the surface to be cleaned and slides on this bristle during the cleaning process, as a result of which adhering dirt particles are loosened from the floor and sucked off by the suction air flow. At the same time, this length of bristle is used to keep the suction opening of the suction nozzle a short distance above the surface to be cleaned, so that the dirt entrained by the inflowing suction air stream can flow in without problems.

To clean soft surfaces, such as textile floor coverings such as permanently installed carpets or loose carpets, the slit-shaped suction opening is provided with smooth, surrounding sliding surfaces, which are moved over the textile surface to be cleaned. Due to the fact that the suction opening lies directly on the surface to be cleaned, the suction air flow is inevitably guided through the fibers of the textile floor covering and the dirt deposited therein is carried away. Because by walking on the textile floor coverings their fibers depressed and at the same time the dirt lying on it is trodden on, in the case of heavy soiling, however, the textile fibers should be cleaned at least at intervals with the help of a brush and set up again. For this purpose, a rotating, roller-shaped brush is generally used. The rotating roller-shaped brush can be driven by various means, for example by an electric motor.

As surfaces of different types often have to be cleaned in the course of cleaning, the transition from hard, smooth floor e.g. Tiles, linoleum, parquet and the like, for the soft, textile covering, such as permanently laid carpets or loose carpets, often changed, so-called "combi nozzles" were developed. At these suction nozzles a part designed as a brush is moved so far against the smooth, hard surface to be cleaned that the suction opening is lifted from the surface to be cleaned and the suction nozzle is moved with this brush over the hard, smooth surface to be cleaned. When changing to a textile covering, the brush is retracted so far by actuating the changeover device, usually in the interior of the nozzle housing, that the bristles disengage from the floor surface and the housing rests on the textile covering to be cleaned, causing the suction nozzle to slide over it the textile covering to be cleaned is guided.

However, if thorough cleaning and an erection of the carpet fibers, also known as carpet pile, is required at various points on the textile floor covering, the smooth suction nozzle that has been used since then must be carried through a suction nozzle a rotating, roller-shaped brush. This requires an interruption of the cleaning work, which is particularly troublesome for commercial cleaning, since the required suction nozzle is often not immediately accessible with the rotating brush and the detachment of the suction nozzles from the suction line is often difficult because the non-positive plug connections between the The suction line and the connection nozzle of the suction nozzle are often very firmly stuck together.

From US-A 2 885 717 a suction nozzle for suction cleaning devices is known which has a first suction opening with surrounding flat sliding surfaces and a second suction opening with bristle trimmings which are formed on opposite sides of the housing. In order to bring one or the other suction opening into the use position, the entire suction cleaning tool must be pivoted about a horizontal axis of rotation of the connecting piece. For this purpose, the suction cleaning tool must be lifted off the floor surface so that it can rotate. As a result, the work process is not insignificantly hampered, especially if interfaces of different floor coverings are to be cleaned.

From EP 0 277 628 A2 a generic suction nozzle is known which has a first suction opening facing the floor with a rotatingly driven brush roller and a second suction opening which is formed at the end of a swiveling suction channel. The suction channel is suitable for vacuuming corners that are difficult to access or the like. It is not possible to vacuum a larger floor area with the suction channel.

According to the invention, it is now provided to design the suction nozzle for a suction cleaning device from an upper housing part and a lower housing part, which can be rotated relative to one another about an axis. The suction openings facing the floor surface to be cleaned are provided in the lower housing part, the second suction opening being surrounded by flat sliding surfaces and the first flow duct being connected in one rotational position of the upper housing part and the second flow duct being connected to the connecting piece in the other rotational position of the upper housing part , whereby the first or second suction opening comes into its use position. There is no need to lift the suction nozzle off the floor surface to be cleaned, so that rapid work is possible even with changing floor coverings.

Depending on the rotational position of the upper housing part, only the suction opening with its associated flow channel is always automatically connected to the connecting piece and the other flow channel is shut off.

In an embodiment of the invention, a support device is additionally provided, which consists of a support brush running essentially parallel to the extension of the second suction opening, which is located in a recess and is mounted such that its bristles protrude from the recess in a position of use and in a non- Use position in the recess. In the position of use, the bristle supports the housing in a certain inflow gap above the floor surface to be cleaned and also ensures that dirt particles adhering to the floor are loosened and then vacuumed off.

To easily guide the suction nozzle over the floor surface to be cleaned, the housing is provided in a manner known per se Provide casters.

A preferred development of the subject matter of the invention is that the connection piece for the suction line is pivotally and rotatably mounted in the upper housing part. Of particular advantage is an embodiment in which the end of the connecting piece which engages in one housing part is designed as an upholstery nozzle which can be detached from the housing. This has the advantage that the connection piece, which is in any case necessary, is at the same time one of the nozzle variants, namely for cleaning upholstery, curtains or the like, which is always available as soon as the connection piece has been removed from one housing part by simply loosening it.

A simple and easy-to-use design of the upholstery nozzle is provided if it is dome-shaped at its lateral ends and has a flattened portion for forming an upholstery suction opening and two friction-cup-like bearing surfaces are provided for the positive connection with the upper housing part. A simple loosening and reassembly of the connecting piece and housing part is given when the spherical ends of the upholstery nozzle are held between the spherical shell-like bearing surfaces by the elastic restoring force of the material of the housing part.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the rotatably mounted brush is roller-shaped and has a drive device arranged within the lower housing part. An electric motor or an air turbine driven by the suction air flow can be provided as the drive device. Alternatively, a friction gear can also be provided be, which rests on the floor surface to be cleaned and sets the brush in rotation by the working movement of the suction nozzle. The air turbine is expediently arranged in a turbine chamber in the first flow channel and connected to the brush by means of a belt drive.

A first exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in FIGS. 1 to 4. A multi-purpose suction nozzle 101 consists of a housing 105 with a lower housing part 106 and an upper housing part 111. The lower housing part 106 is mounted on rollers 132. The upper housing part 111 serves to receive an articulated and rotatably mounted connecting piece 102, to which a suction line (not shown) of a suction cleaning device can be connected. That as a flat, rectangular cuboid formed lower housing part 106 of the multi-purpose suction nozzle 101 is provided with a first suction opening 108 and with a second suction opening 123. Both suction openings are directed to the floor surface 144 to be cleaned and extend transversely to the working direction 119, the distance between the two suction openings 108 and 123 being matched by the impellers 132 resting on the floor surface 144 to be cleaned so that when smooth surfaces are processed between the the two suction openings 108 and 123 surrounding lower nozzle surface sections 133, 134, 135, 136 a sufficient inflow gap 145 remains. When cleaning textile floor coverings, the rollers 132 sink so deeply into the carpet surface that the lower nozzle surface sections 133 to 136 slide against the carpet pile of the carpet surface to be cleaned. The roller-shaped brush 109 mounted in rotation in the suction opening 108 projects through the suction opening 108 with its bristle 110 to a small extent and penetrates the carpet surface, which is furrowed by the rotation of the brush 109. The suction opening 108 with the flow channel 117 assigned to it and the suction opening 123 with the flow channel 130 assigned to it can alternately be brought into flow connection with the inflow opening 126 to the receiving space 118 for the connecting piece 102, depending on which of the suction openings 108 or 123 has been brought into the respective position of use is.

The alternate use of the first suction opening 108 with the roller-shaped brush 109 protruding through this suction opening or that of the smooth, unequipped second suction opening 123 is designed in such a way that only the suction opening located away from the connecting piece is flowed through by the suction air flow, while that of the connecting piece 102 nearby suction opening to the connecting piece is closed. The suction opening 108 or 123 to be used in each case is brought into its position of use by rotating the lower housing part 106 about a vertical axis of rotation 139 relative to the upper housing part 111. For this purpose, the upper housing part 111 has a contact surface 128 and the lower housing part has a contact surface 120, so that the two housing parts rotatably slide against each other. In this way, the first suction opening 108 with the rotating roller-shaped brush 109 or the second suction opening 123 can be brought into its use position, whereby the lower housing part 106 has to be rotated through 180 ° from one use position to the other. Simultaneously with the swiveling-in of the suction opening 108 or 123 to be used, the mouth opening 122 or 131 of the flow channel 117 or 130 assigned to it is brought into congruence with the inflow opening 126 of the receiving space 118.

The handling of the multi-purpose suction nozzle according to FIGS. 1 to 4 is as follows:
For thorough cleaning of a textile floor covering, the suction opening 108 provided with the rotating roller-shaped brush 109 should be used, for which purpose the suction opening 108 is brought into the position shown in FIG. 1 which is remote from the connecting piece 102. As a result, an outlet opening 122 of the flow path 117 is in register with the inflow opening 126 of the receiving space 118 for the connecting piece 102. The suction air guided by the cleaning device via the suction line (not shown) flows through the first suction opening 108 and flows through the flow path 117. which is partially formed by the turbine chamber 116 located in the course of this flow path 117 with the air turbine 115 mounted therein. This air turbine 115 is set in rotation by the suction air flow and the roller-shaped brush 109 is driven via the belt drive 114. If only the smooth, unequipped second suction opening 123 is to be used for cleaning the floor surface 144, this second suction opening 123 is pivoted into the position according to FIG. 3 removed from the connecting piece 102. As a result, an opening 131 of the flow path 130 is brought into register with the inflow opening 126, so that the suction air flow generated by the cleaning device flows in through the second suction opening 123. The connection of one of the mouth openings 122 and 131 has the result that the other mouth opening 131 and 122 is sealed off from the connecting piece 102.

Another embodiment of the invention is shown in FIGS. 5 to 8. These represent a multi-purpose suction nozzle 201, the housing 205 of which is designed as a flat cuboid, which is provided with a first suction opening 208 and with a second suction opening 223. Both suction openings are directed towards the floor surface 244 to be cleaned and extend transversely to the working direction 219 and form the air inlets to the nozzle chambers 203 and 204 assigned to them. When cleaning textile floor coverings, the surface 206 of the housing 205 rests on the textile floor surface 244 to be cleaned . When cleaning hard, smooth floors, the multi-purpose nozzle 201 and thus its lower housing half 206 are raised so far above the floor surface to be cleaned by two strip-shaped support brushes 240 and 241 that an inflow gap 245 sufficient for the suction air flow is formed. The two strip-shaped support brushes 240 and 241 extend parallel to the two suction openings 208 and 223 and correspond approximately to their length extension. The two support brushes 240 and 241 are height-adjustable in recesses 238, 239 of the lower surface 206 of the housing 205 so that they can be actuated by an actuating device 242 from a "non-use position" shown in FIG. 5 to a "use position" according to FIG. 7 and can be moved back again. In the "non-use position" of the two strip-shaped support brushes 240 and 241, the ends of their bristles step back behind the plane of the lower surface 206 of the housing 205. In the "use position" of the two support brushes 240 and 241, the ends of their bristles project beyond the plane of the lower surface 206 of the housing 205, so that the lower surface 206 is raised by a few millimeters above the base surface 244 to be processed.

Between the first suction opening 208 and the second suction opening 223 there is a housing middle part 212 which can be pivoted about a horizontal axis and which comprises two separate outflow elbows 220 and 221 which open into a common connecting piece 202. The exhaust manifold 220 is preceded by a turbine chamber 216 with an air turbine 215 mounted therein, the turbine chamber 216 having an inlet opening 224, which in the position of use of the first suction opening 208 with the mouth 225 of a connecting channel 226, which is provided on the downstream side of the first nozzle chamber 203 is. This arrangement can be seen in FIGS. 5 and 6.

In order to support the cleaning action of the suction air stream flowing to the suction nozzle, a rotatingly driven roller-shaped brush 209 is mounted in the first nozzle chamber 203 in such a way that its bristle 210 protrudes through the suction opening 208 to a small extent and thus penetrates the carpet surface, which furrows through the rotation of the brush 209 becomes. The air turbine 215 stored in the turbine chamber 216 drives the brush 209 mounted in the nozzle chamber 203 via a belt drive 214 when the first suction opening 208 with the brush 209 mounted therein is brought into its position of use, as is shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 is shown.

The second outflow elbow 221 has an elongated suction channel 232 which extends to an opening 237 on the second nozzle chamber 204 and is congruent with this when the multi-purpose suction nozzle 201 is brought into the use position of the second suction opening 223. In addition to the longitudinal edges of the second suction opening 223, there are flat sliding surfaces 235 and 236 which rest on the surface 244 to be cleaned when the support brush 241 is countersunk into the recess 239.

The alternate use of the first suction opening 208 with the cylindrical brush 209 projecting through this suction opening or the second suction opening 223 is designed in such a way that only the suction opening located away from the connecting piece 202 is acted upon by the suction air stream, while the suction opening close to the connecting piece 202 is used Connection piece 202 is closed. The suction opening 208 or 223 to be used in each case is set into its position of use by pivoting the connecting piece 202 or with it in the form of a stem Detachably connected suction line 218 by approximately 150 ° above the vertical from an approximately horizontal first end position to the opposite, likewise approximately horizontal second end position about the horizontal axis 217.

In the position of the connecting piece 202 shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the housing middle part 212, which is rotatably mounted about the horizontal axis 217, is pivoted such that the inlet opening 224 of the turbine chamber 216 with the mouth 225 of the connecting channel 226 reaches the flow-connecting cover. In this position, the suction air flow flows in through the first suction opening 208, flows through the first nozzle chamber 203 and the connecting duct 226 and then passes through the inlet opening 224 into the turbine chamber 216 and into the blading of the air turbine 215, as a result of which the latter is set in rotation. After flowing through the air turbine 215, the suction air flows through the first outflow elbow 220 into the connecting piece 202 and from there through the suction line 218 to the suction cleaning device, as the air flow arrows 229 in FIGS. 5 and 6 show. The flow path through the second exhaust manifold 221 is blocked.

The second suction opening 223 of the multi-purpose suction nozzle is used to clean the bottom surface 244 without a brush using suction air alone. With this type of cleaning, the middle housing part 212 with the connecting piece 202 and the suction line 218 detachably received therein is pivoted from the previously described use position for the first suction opening by approximately 150 ° about the axis 217 over the vertical to the second use position for the second suction opening 223 , so that this second suction opening now assumes the position away from the connecting piece 202. By pivoting the middle part of the housing 212 into the position of use for the second suction opening 223, the flow-connecting covering of the mouth 225 to the inlet opening 224 of the turbine chamber 216 is interrupted, a blocking surface (not shown) covering the inlet opening 224 pivoted with the pivoting movement of the turbine chamber 216.

As shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, in the use position of the smooth second suction opening 223, the suction air flow is sucked in through this second suction opening. This air flow crosses the second nozzle chamber 204 and passes through the suction channel 232 into the outflow elbow 221, through which the suction air flow is introduced into the connecting piece 202 and is fed to the suction cleaning device via the suction line 218, as shown by the air flow arrows 230. The opening 237 of the suction channel 232 is assigned a blocking surface (not visible in the drawing) such that the opening 237 of the suction channel is only opened when the housing middle part 212 is in the position provided for the use of the second suction opening 223. To clean smooth, hard floor surfaces, the two strip-shaped support brushes 240 and 241 are moved out of the recesses 238, 239 by actuating the actuating device 242, so that they protrude from the lower surface 206 of the nozzle housing 205 and this lower surface 206 with the two suction openings 208 and 223 is raised slightly from the floor surface to be cleaned, so that the inflow gap 245 required for the inflow of the suction air and the dust and dirt parts carried therein is formed.

The roller-shaped brush 109, 209 assigned to the first suction opening 108, 208 is mounted such that it can move in height, that it adjusts to the different pile heights of the carpet to be cleaned, in that it rests on the surface to be cleaned only due to its own weight and the pressure generated by the belt tension of the drive belt. In the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1 to 8, an additional lifting device (not shown in the drawings) is advantageous which brings the roller-shaped brush 109, 209 into an upper position furthest from the floor when the first suction opening 108, 208 is in its non-use position.

In all embodiments of the multi-purpose suction nozzle according to the invention, a latching device, for example in the form of a ball catch or the like, can be provided for the safe positioning of the respective working positions.

In the exemplary embodiments shown, the multi-purpose suction nozzle is additionally provided with an easily removable and reinsertable upholstery nozzle 50 for cleaning upholstery surfaces, as shown in FIG. 9. The upholstery nozzle 50 is firmly connected to the connecting piece 2. The connecting piece 2 is cylindrical in shape at its lower end 50, a flattening of the cylindrical shape forming a cushion suction opening 49. The lateral ends of the cylindrical shape are dome-shaped or domed. After releasing a catch, the connecting piece 2 serving as a guide handle for the upholstery nozzle 50 with the upholstery nozzle 50 is removed from the upper housing part of the multi-purpose suction nozzle. This means that a pad surface 52 that is present in the course of the cleaning work can be immediately included in the cleaning work without time-consuming retrofitting or fetching a further nozzle, the guide tube of the suction line connected to the connecting piece 2 Effortless reworking of even large upholstery enables. After finishing the upholstery cleaning, the problem-free reinsertion of the upholstery nozzle into the housing of the multi-purpose suction nozzle ensures that the cleaning work can be continued quickly.
