Definitions
- the invention relates to a multi-purpose suction nozzle for suction cleaning devices for cleaning surfaces of different nature of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1.
- suction cleaning devices For cleaning surfaces, in particular for their dry cleaning, generally known suction cleaning devices are used, which are connected in terms of flow via a suction line to a suction tool which is moved over the surface to be cleaned.
- the suction tool which is preferably guided by hand with back and forth movements over the surface to be cleaned, and which is detachably connected to the suction line leading to the suction cleaning device and can be connected again, is also generally referred to as a suction nozzle.
- These suction nozzles generally have a narrow, rectangular suction opening through which the suction air flow generated by the suction cleaning device flows in at high speed and dust and dirt particles from the area surrounding the slot-shaped suction opening tears, whereby the suction nozzle lying on the surface to be cleaned is moved with reciprocating movements over it.
- the design of the suction nozzle, especially the slot-shaped suction opening surrounding area to adapt to the nature of the surface to be cleaned.
- the surrounding area of the suction opening is provided with a bristle.
- the suction nozzle lies on the surface to be cleaned and slides on this bristle during the cleaning process, as a result of which adhering dirt particles are loosened from the floor and sucked off by the suction air flow.
- this length of bristle is used to keep the suction opening of the suction nozzle a short distance above the surface to be cleaned, so that the dirt entrained by the inflowing suction air stream can flow in without problems.
- the slit-shaped suction opening is provided with smooth, surrounding sliding surfaces, which are moved over the textile surface to be cleaned. Due to the fact that the suction opening lies directly on the surface to be cleaned, the suction air flow is inevitably guided through the fibers of the textile floor covering and the dirt deposited therein is carried away. Because by walking on the textile floor coverings their fibers depressed and at the same time the dirt lying on it is trodden down, in the case of heavy soiling, however, the textile fibers should be cleaned at least at intervals with the help of a brush and set up again.
- a rotating, roller-shaped brush is generally used.
- the rotating roller-shaped brush can be driven by various means, for example by an electric motor.
- the brush When changing to a textile covering, the brush is retracted so far by actuating the changeover device, usually into the interior of the nozzle housing, that the bristles disengage from the bottom surface and the housing rests on the textile covering to be cleaned, causing the suction nozzle to slide over it the textile covering to be cleaned is guided.
- suction nozzles which can be used and which take into account the differently shaped floor surfaces.
- the suction nozzle can be switched over in a simple manner, wherein only the suction opening with the flow channel assigned to it is always automatically connected to the connecting piece and the other flow channel is automatically shut off.
- the housing is preferably designed in such a way that, in the working position of the first suction opening, the area surrounding it slidably rests on the floor surface to be cleaned or is guided at a short distance above it.
- a support device is preferably provided which consists of a support brush which runs essentially parallel to the extension of the second suction opening, which lies in a recess and is mounted in such a way that its bristle protrudes from the recess in a position of use and into a position in which it is not in use Deepening backs. In the position of use, the bristle supports the housing in a certain inflow gap above the floor surface to be cleaned and also ensures that dirt particles adhering to the floor are loosened and then suctioned off.
- a preferred further development of the subject matter of the invention consists in that the housing is essentially made up of two parts, the connection piece for the suction line being pivotably and rotatably mounted in one housing part and the other housing part having the two suction openings.
- the end of the connecting piece which engages in one housing part is designed as a cushion nozzle which can be detached from the housing.
- the connection piece which is definitely necessary, is at the same time one of the nozzle variants, namely for cleaning upholstery, curtains or the like, which is always available as soon as the connection piece has been removed from one housing part by simply loosening it.
- the housing of the multi-purpose suction nozzle is preferably essentially flat in shape, with two suction openings which are optionally used.
- the flow paths adjoining the suction openings are separated from one another by partitions.
- the housing parts can be rotated relative to one another in such a way that either the first suction opening or the second suction opening is used.
- the angle of rotation or the swivel angle for adjusting the suction nozzle from one working position to the other is 180 ° or approx. 150 °.
- the housing is provided with a roller device in a manner known per se.
- This roller device can comprise, for example, rollers or wheels, pairs of rollers being mounted only on the rear nozzle part or on both ends of the nozzle.
- the axis of rotation of the two housing parts runs essentially in the direction of the working movement of the multi-purpose suction nozzle or approximately perpendicular to the floor surface, which in the first case is preferably designed as a journal bearing.
- the pivot axis of a middle part of the housing is arranged horizontally and transversely to the direction of movement of the suction nozzle.
- the device for selectively connecting the first or second flow channel to the connecting piece can be formed in a very simple manner by arranging an inflow opening in the nozzle or housing part receiving the connecting piece and in which an outlet opening is provided for each flow channel in the nozzle or housing part which has the suction openings. The arrangement is chosen so that one of the outflow openings is congruent with the inflow opening, while the other outflow opening is sealed off from the inflow opening.
- the rotatably mounted brush is roller-shaped and it has a drive device arranged inside the front nozzle part.
- An electric motor or an air turbine driven by the suction air flow can be provided as the drive device.
- a friction gear can also be provided, which rests on the floor surface to be cleaned and causes the brush to rotate due to the working movement of the suction nozzle.
- the air turbine is expediently arranged in a turbine chamber in the first flow channel and connected to the brush by means of a belt drive.
- a particularly simple and easy-to-use arrangement of the upholstery nozzle is provided if it is spherical at its lateral ends and has a flattened portion to form an upholstery suction opening and two spherical shell-like bearing surfaces are provided for the positive connection to the housing part.
- a simple loosening and reassembly of the connecting piece and rear nozzle part is given when the spherical ends of the upholstery nozzle are held between the spherical shell-like bearing surfaces by the elastic restoring force of the material of the housing part.
- FIG. 1 shows a multi-purpose suction nozzle 1 which has a housing 5 which comprises a rear nozzle part 4 and a front nozzle part 7.
- the rear nozzle part 4 is equipped with rollers 3 and serves to receive a connecting piece 2 to which a suction line, not shown in the drawing, is connected.
- the housing 5 is of flat shape, the front nozzle part 7 having two substantially parallel flat sides 6 'and 6'.
- On the flat side 6 ' which is located in the illustration according to FIG. 1 on the lower side and thus faces the surface to be cleaned, there is a first suction opening 8, to which a first flow channel 17 connects.
- the air turbine 15 in a turbine chamber 16, which is connected to the rotatably mounted brush 9 via a belt drive 14.
- the front housing part 7 has a rear wall 21 which lies on a front wall 40 of the rear housing part 4.
- a pin is fastened to the wall 40, which projects through the wall 21 and on which a sleeve formed on the wall 21 is seated.
- a journal bearing 38 is formed, by means of which the nozzle parts 4 and 7 can be rotated relative to one another, the surfaces of the walls 21 and 40 lying against one another sliding on one another.
- the axis of rotation of the journal bearing is designated 39.
- An inflow opening 41 is provided in the wall 40 and in the wall 21 there are two outflow openings 18 and 31 which are arranged diametrically opposite one another with respect to the journal bearing 38. The arrangement is such that, in the working position shown in FIG. 1, the outflow opening 18 and the inflow opening 41 overlap one another and thus release the flow path for the air flow 20.
- the outflow opening 31 is assigned to a second flow channel 30, which begins at a second suction opening 23 on the surface 6 ⁇ , which forms the upper side of the housing 5 in FIG. 1.
- a second suction opening 23 on the surface 6 ⁇ , which forms the upper side of the housing 5 in FIG. 1.
- This support brush 34 has a bristle 37 and extends parallel to the second suction opening 23, as will be explained in more detail below in relation to FIG. 5 is.
- the first flow channel 17 and the second flow channel 30 are separated from one another by a partition wall 26 which extends approximately from the front edge of the front nozzle part 7 to the rear wall 21.
- the connecting piece 2 is cylindrical in shape at its lower end, a flattening of the cylindrical shape forming an upholstery suction opening 49, so that the connecting piece 2 can be used as an upholstery nozzle 50 after being released from the rear housing part 4.
- the lateral ends of the cylindrical shape are dome-shaped or cambered, which will be explained in more detail later in relation to FIGS. 4 and 7.
- Fig. 2 shows the multi-purpose suction nozzle 1 in the working position, in which the flat side 6 ⁇ lies on the surface 44 to be cleaned. Apart from this changed position, all parts correspond to those in Fig. 1, so that for reasons of better understanding, the reference numerals for the same parts from Fig. 1 have been adopted.
- the outflow opening 31 and the inflow opening 41 overlap, so that the air flow passes through the second suction nozzle 23 and the second flow channel 30 into the rear nozzle part 4 and from there through the connecting piece 2.
- the outlet opening 18 is covered by the wall 40, so there is no air flow in the flow channel 17 and the air turbine 15 is at a standstill.
- the support brush 34 is in the so-called “non-use position”, which is why the bristle lies 37 behind an edge of the depression 32.
- the second suction opening 23 is adjoined by sliding surfaces 24 and 25 which rest on the surface 44 to be cleaned when the support brush 34 is not in use.
- FIG 3 shows the multi-purpose suction nozzle 1 in which the support brush 34 assumes the so-called “use position” and is supported on the surface 44 to be cleaned by means of the bristle 37. This results in an inflow gap 45 between the flat side 6 ⁇ and the bottom surface 44.
