Abstract
The present invention relates to a lock for supplying and / or discharging gaseous or liquid media into a tunnel washing machine, in which a fixed channel for receiving units is arranged between sealing lips.
Description
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft Tunnelwaschmaschinen. The present invention relates to tunnel washing machines.
Derartige Tunnelwaschmaschinen bestehen aus längeren liegend angeordneten Zylindern, in denen Wäsche in industriellem Maßstab gewaschen wird.Tunnel washing machines of this type consist of longer cylinders arranged horizontally, in which laundry is washed on an industrial scale.
In order to supply gaseous or liquid media to these machines, known tunnel washing machines have sealing lips that lie against one another and face inwards and are arranged on welded rings. Lance-shaped injectors are inserted between these lips. When the machine is rotating, this seal rubs against the standing lance.
This solution has disadvantages. For one thing, the space formed by the lips is relatively small. On the other hand, the lips are very susceptible to a high proportion of sand, especially in heavily soiled laundry.
Ultimately, it is necessary to replace the entire lip if it is worn.
In contrast, the present invention has set itself the task of creating a sealing system that leaves space. For the accommodation of units to be arranged externally (heating) and where the entire lips do not have to be discarded when worn.
This object is achieved by a lock for supplying or discharging gaseous or liquid media into a rotating tunnel washing machine with the aid of sealing lips arranged on the tunnel, between which the tunnel has perforations, in which between the lips a channel encompassing the tunnel at least up to the level of the water level is arranged, against whose vertical flanks the lips rest.
The channel surrounds the tunnel washing machine at least to the water level, preferably so that vapors do not escape, but completely. The channel is open to the shell of the tunnel.
This makes it possible for the first time to increase the spacing of the sealing lips from one another so that the necessary units can be installed in the water circulation outside the tunnel without any design effort.
An entire heating system, e.g. in the form of snakes, where the heat is transported through the wall of the snake, whereas in the prior art steam injectors only had to be used with a limited diameter.
Furthermore, it is proposed to detachably mount wear rings on the lips. These rub against the vertical Flanks of the channel and can be removed from the lips and replaced if necessary.
A sand trap in the form of a sump can be arranged in the channel for the first time, with the aid of which coarse, non-dispersible substances can be discharged.
In order to keep these coarse parts away from the sensitive sealing surfaces, it is ultimately proposed to arrange deflector plates pointing into the channel at the tunnel.
