Bei dem durch das Patent Nr. 81520 geschützten Kessel haben die Wasserröhren an den Stellen, wo sie die Wandung bilden sollen, einen gröfseren Durchmesser als im übrigen Th'eil, oder einen ovalen Querschnitt, wobei sie mit ihren Schmalseiten zusammenstofsen. Anstatt dessen können die Röhren g, wie auf der Zeichnung dargestellt, an den Stellen, wo sie die Wandung bilden sollen, mit seitlichen Rippen h versehen werden, welche dicht an einander stofsen. An den Stellen, wo die Feuergase zwischen den Röhren hindurchstreichen sollen, kommen diese seitlichen Rippen in Fortfall. Derartige Röhren bieten den Vortheil, dafs sie eine gröfsere feuerberührte Fläche als cylindrische Röhren mit gleichem Durchmesser haben. Die Rippen h können verschiedene Abmessung und Uebergangsformen an die im allgemeinen cylindrische Form der Röhren erhalten; auch können ovale Röhren mit derartigen Rippen versehen werden.In the boiler protected by patent no. 81520, the water pipes at the points where they are to form the wall have a larger diameter than in the rest of the part, or an oval cross-section, with their narrow sides coinciding with one another.
