Description
«renn man solche Kunstharzkörper aus mehreren Teilen herstellen will, was z. Method for joining hardened bodies made from impregnated with synthetic resin Threads, ribbons, cords or strips of fabric - The invention relates to a method for connecting bodies made of threads, ribbons, cords soaked with synthetic resin or strips of fabric are produced with subsequent hardening and the above all Things can be used wherever acid resistance is important. These synthetic resin bodies are known to have a significantly higher strength than that also known synthetic resin body, which consists of a with a filler, for. B. asbestos fibers, offset synthetic resin paste and are therefore used wherever where high tensile and compressive strength is important, such as B. as valve housing, Pressure vessels, pumps. Such synthetic resin bodies are called blowers, pipes, etc. wants to produce from several parts, which z. B. is necessary when it is around shaped pieces with multiple undercut shapes or otherwise intricate shapes acts, the connection of the individual parts must naturally also, if possible have the same strength as each individual part. The making of one However, connection presents considerable difficulties. So it is z. B. not possible two smooth butting surfaces with the help of uncured synthetic resin paste only to a certain extent to be firmly connected to each other. It has therefore already been proposed that the abutment surfaces to be provided with interengaging projections and depressions, e.g. B. to interlock. But this connection is also suitable, apart from its proportion expensive manufacture, not for those bodies with high compressive or tensile strength is required, such as B. for valve bodies, pressure vessels. Pipelines, pumps, Blowers, etc. For large bodies, especially large vats for chemical Industry with diameters of 3 m and more because of their. Size from individual elements need to be put together, one tries to help oneself by taking the relevant Joint-forming board edges with dovetail-shaped incisions Reinforced in a bead shape, an iron framework is screwed to it, the joint with an unhardened one paste-like synthetic resin mixture fills and to an airtight seal of the To get a joint, hardened synthetic resin strips on the inside of the container putty the joints. The soft joint filling compound is then applied with the aid of warm air hardened. However, such a method cannot be used for connecting individual components Fittings that make up the aforementioned intricate and relatively high Assemble pressure-bearing body. This is where the new process comes in, with its help with the simultaneous use of various measures known per se a connection can be created with simple means - earth that is of high strength is and is therefore particularly suitable for connecting two or several Bodies made in a known manner from threads, ribbons soaked with synthetic resin. Lace or fabric strips and subsequent curing are made.
The inventive method consists in that the to be combined Form surfaces sloping connecting joints with one or more Layers of threads, ribbons, cords, strips of fabric soaked with unbaked synthetic resin or the like. The parts to be connected are firmly pressed together and united into a single body by the subsequent hardening. The fact, that in this way a much stronger connection is created than when using it a synthetic resin paste. can probably be explained by the fact that they are pressed together of the body to be connected, the threads or the like present in the intermediate layer Prevent squeezing out the resin and cause the resin to enter the penetrates the fine pores of the joints.
.The drawing shows the application of the new @ method using two examples shown. Fig. I shows diagrammatically the connection of a plate-shaped body with another body. -Fig. a is a central longitudinal section through a valve body, made according to the invention. .
The plate-shaped body a (FIG. I) is provided with a conical recess c and the body b with a conical projection d that fits into it. According to the invention, both the outer surface of the conical extension d and the inner surface of the conical recess c or only one of the two is covered with a layer consisting of threads e impregnated with synthetic resin. Instead of threads, ribbons, cords or strips of fabric can also be used. It is advisable to use asbestos shops, as these are not attacked by acids. The conical extension d is pressed firmly into the conical recess c, and hardening then takes place by known means. The resulting connection between the two bodies a and b has, as practical tests have shown, exactly the same strength as each of the parts d and b.
Fig. 2 shows a composed of six fittings f to l Pipe body or a valve housing. All parts are made of synthetic resin impregnated Threads, ribbons, cords or strips of fabric. The connection between each Divide is done in exactly the same way as was described for FIG is. It can be seen that the new invention does not apply to the two illustrated Embodiments is limited, but is suitable for all cases in which it is necessary to make two or more fittings made of threads soaked with synthetic resin, To unite ribbons, cords, etc. so that the connection points are essentially have the same strength as the parts to be joined. With the help of the new Connection can be pressure vessels, pump housings, fan housings, impellers and other parts or fittings of a more or less complex shape Assemble pieces.
It is best to roughen both or one joint.
