An Stelle von Quarzit kann dabei auch Sand oder ein Gemisch von Sand und Quarzit benutzt werden. Ferner ist es möglich, den Quarzit in großstückiger Form dem Reaktionsprodukt zuzusetzen und darauf das Gemisch noch einer Zerkleinerungsbehandlung zu unterwerfen.
