In this protocol area, all data important for the driver of the motor vehicle are given. For example, it indicates which radio station is currently being received. Further displays include whether the traffic signal is received, the current date, the time and the destination entered according to the location and navigation system, for example Karlsruhe. Engine functions such as oil pressure, water temperature or tire control values are also shown in this protocol area 2 .
In Fig. 2 ist eine Dateneingabe 20 dargestellt, die mehrere Ein gabetasten aufweist. Die Dateneingabe 20 ist auf einer Speiche des Lenkrades montiert und so angeordnet, daß sie vom Fahrer leicht be dient werden kann. Sie weist Cursorbedienelemente 21 auf, mit denen die elektrischen Geräte ausgewählt werden. Die Auswahl wird im Ge räteauswahlbereich 4 des Bildschirmes 1 angezeigt. Wurde mit den Cursorbedienelementen 21 das gewünschte Gerät ausgewählt, dann wird durch Druck auf die Übernahmetaste 23 dieses Gerät aktiviert. Die Übernahmetaste 23 ist seitlich neben dem Cursorbedienelement 21 an geordnet. Über dem Cursorbedienelement 21 ist eine Menütaste 22 an geordnet, mit der das zu dem angewählten Gerät zugehörende Menü aktiviert wird. Dieses Menü erscheint dann im Aktionsbereich 3. Wurde beispielsweise das Menü für die Bedienung des Autoradios aus gewählt, dann wird mit dem Cursorbedienelement 21 ein Bedienbefehl aus dem Auswahlmenü ausgewählt. Die Übernahme des ausgewählten Be fehls wird mit der Übernahmetaste 23 quittiert. Auf diese Weise kön nen alle Geräte eingeschaltet und bedient werden, ohne daß der Fah rer seine Aufmerksamkeit allzusehr vom Verkehrsgeschehen ablenken muß.In Fig. 2, a data input 20 is shown, which has several input keys.
