Der Erfindung liegt somit die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Schaltgerät,insbesondere Näherungsschalter, der obengenannten Art zu schaffen, bei dem es möglich ist, die Schaltzustandsanzeige derart umzusetzen, daß sie zumindest von drei unterschiedlichen Richtungen erkennbar ist. Dies wird auf einfache Weise dadurch erreicht, daß die Schaltzustandsanzeige an einer Seitenfläche des Oberteils vorgesehen ist und das Gehäuse im Bereich der Trennungslinie quadratischen Querschnitt aufweist und einer der Steckverbindungsteile über flexiblen Leitungsanschluß umsetzbar in dem einen Gehäuseteil gehalten ist. Wird der Leitungsanschluß durch die in das Unterteil eingeführten Anschlußkabelenden gebildet, so ergibt sich weiterhin der Vorteil des einfachen Anschlusses, da das Steckerunterteil beim Anschließen des Gerätes aus dem Gehäuse herausgenommen werden kann.In known proximity switches of the type mentioned above (XSB-A 10611 from Telemecanique), the switching status display is attached to the front of the proximity switch.
