Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
The previously known metal roof interlocking tiles suffer from the disadvantage that they are the fold of the same is developed directly out of the face of the tile. That turns into the disadvantage that after heavy downpours or sudden thaws heavy snowfall the water pulls through between the fold and as a result of capillary attraction The more so, the larger the touching surfaces of the fold are and the closer they touch. Do you want this through this Avoid pressing the fold tightly together and thereby sleeping or soldering it to be on the safe side, the roof will go wrong one of its main advantages, the freedom of movement of the individual pans when the temperature changes and thus completely lost its durability.
The present invention relocates the fold completely out of the plane of the pan A (Fig. 1) in order to avoid the above-mentioned inconveniences, in that the same is bent at an angle in the already known manner on the sides, so that it approximately has the shape of an upwardly open, elongated U assumes. From the upper edge of this bend B the folds are then formed by repeated bends cd , in such a way that the two adjacent plates each interlock.
These folds are not carried out in the usual way, according to which theirs Surfaces touch each other over the greater part of their extent, but they lead the conclusion can only be achieved by touching extremely sharp edges against surfaces.
For this purpose, as shown in FIG. 2, the surface c is arranged at B approximately parallel to A and the surface d, which is not quite as wide as c , closes at an acute angle downwards and hook-shaped back to B. Correspondingly, at B 1, surface C 1 is bent approximately parallel to A 1 and on this surface ^ 1 is arranged running back towards B 1 at an acute angle to C 1. If two such folds are pushed into each other, the edge of ά λ presses against the surface d and the edge of d against the surface C 1 , so that for the conditions under consideration with free mobility of the individual pans a tight closure of the fold against Rain and snow is effected.
Fig. 2 shows the same arrangement with surfaces B inclined slightly towards A , Fig. 3 with rounded corners in the bends and simultaneous longitudinal support of the raised fold.
