Description

Zerkleinerungseinrichtung.

Shredding device. The invention relates to a comminution device with a cutting device for solid substances carried along by a liquid, a preferred application being that for sewage systems.

The invention consists in providing a cutting device which is conveying in the axial direction and to which a housing with a collecting channel arranged around a central part and a lateral outlet is connected on its pressure side.

In the drawing, an embodiment example of the invention is shown schematically. Fig. 1 shows the comminution device partly in longitudinal section, Fig. 2 shows a section along line II-11 in Fig. 1 through the housing.

The shredding device is connected with the suction nozzle 1 to a line or a shaft (not shown) through which the solids entrained liquid is fed. The housing 2, which is formed out as a ring housing with a radial outlet 3, is provided on the pressure side of the cutting knife 5 wedged onto the shaft 4, which is conveying in the axial direction. Held by the nut 6, the cutting knife 5 works together with the grate 7 with the openings 8. The shaft 4 is mounted in the longitudinal bearing 9 and sealed at the outlet from the housing 2 by the stuffing box 10.

The lantern 11 with the openings 12 contains a thrust bearing through which the knife 5 is held axially and which can be moved axially by turning the handwheel 13 to set the game between knife 5 and grate 7. The counter knife 14 is adjustable by means of the screws 15.

When comminuting the solids from waste water, the stress on the cutting device is very different, with shocks that suddenly load the cutting knife and its drive shaft, often occur and even the knife is suddenly blocked. In the latter case, the housing usually has to be emptied, which is done first by rinsing and then by hand through cleaning openings.

The longitudinal bearing 9, which forms the central part of the housing 2, is supported by means of strong ribs 16 on the side of the rotating knife against the outer part of the housing 2, so that, in contrast to known arrangements, any sudden stresses are recorded and applied directly to the point of origin the Ge housing 2 or via the nozzle 17 on the Fun dament can be derived with a horizontal arrangement.

Above all, there is the great advantage of both the axially conveying cutting knife 5 and the ring housing 2 that the length of the shaft 4 to the end 18, on which the coupling of the drive motor is keyed, can be made as short as possible and the shaft 4 is practically exclusively based on torsion bean, In addition, the small volume of the housing 2 enables easier and faster cleaning and thus a shortening of the interruption of operation.

Instead of the housing being an annular housing with a radial outlet, a spiral housing with a tangential outlet can also be used.
