Abstract
Selon l'invention, on effectue un couplage de guide d'onde à mode unique sur une fibre optique multimode (14) d'un réseau optique local en bande large à l'aide d'un coupleur effilé (10) qui augmente le diamètre de point du faisceau de propagation afin de remplir les modes supplémentaires de la fibre multimode. Le coupleur effilé comporte un noyau (30) entouré par une couche de métallisation intérieure (32) et une couche de métallisation extérieure (34). Le noyau et la couche de métallisation intérieure sont étirés sur leur longueur afin de contraindre la lumière provenant du noyau à pénétrer dans la couche de métallisation intérieure environnante. La couche de métallisation extérieure confine le faisceau augmenté à l'intérieur du noyau et de la couche de métallisation intérieure.
