Abstract

Injectable compsns. for control of ticks (esp. Boophilus microplus) comprise one or more allylic sulphides, disulphides and/or polysilphides in the form of an aq. emulsion. - The active ingredient may be allyl mono-, do-, tri- or pentasulphide, alliine, allicine, allylthiopropane, allyl isothio-cyanate, methyl allyl sulphide or garlic oil. The emulsions are prepd. by suspending 1 pt. wt. of the active ingredient in 1000 pts.wt. H2O. The unit dose is 5 mg in 5 ml of emulsion, given in a single s.c. injection.
