Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

   Verwendung von Melamin-Formaldehyd-Harzen zum Überziehen von Faserstoff-, Sperrholz- oder Spanplatten
 EMI1.1

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   Use of melamine-formaldehyde resins to cover fiber, plywood or chipboard
 EMI1.1

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   It is also possible to improve the inherently good flowability of the resins mentioned, if necessary by adding suitable products which are known in their application, such as. B. polyalcohols or sugar derivatives, to increase.

   Example: Resins with the following molar ratios of melamine to formaldehyde are produced or corresponding commercial products are dissolved in water up to a resin concentration of 50 to 55.10 for comparison:
1: 1.4; 1: 1.7; 1: 2.0; 1: 2.7.

   These resins are used to impregnate decor papers with a weight of 150 g / m2 and barrier papers with a weight of 80 g / m2. The dried films are pressed at a temperature of 1500C and a pressure of 10 to 20 kg / cm2 for 10 minutes on both sides of a chipboard 9 mm thick. Before removing the finished chipboard from the press, it is cooled back to 40 - 50 C under full pressure.

   To test for susceptibility to cracking, the samples are subjected to constant climatic conditions (20 C, 65 0 rel.

  Humidity). After storage for at least 8 days, some of the samples are heated to 140 ° C. for 4 hours and then stored again for 20 hours under the specified climatic conditions. This procedure is repeated until cracks form, but no more than five times. The results are summarized in the table below.
