Abstract
En un método para detectar fugas en un sistema de cable digital, al menos una primera señal se inserta en el sistema de cable. Al menos una primera señal tiene una amplitud de múltiples decenas de .dB por debajo de la potencia del canal de los canales digitales llevados en el sistema de cable. Una segunda señal que contiene la primera señal se recibe. La segunda señal se convierte en una señal de frecuencia intermedia (IF). La señal de lF se digitaliza y se obtienen muestras de la señal IP digitalizada. Las muestras digitalizadas de una tercera señal en la frecuencia nominal de la primera señal en la amplitud máxima convertida a la lF se proporcionan. La señal de lF digitalizada y las muestras digitalizadas de una tercera señal de la frecuencia nominal de la primera señal en la amplitud máxima convertida a IP se correlacionan. La presencia de la primera señal insertada se detecta basada en el resultado de la correlación. En otro método, un par de primeras señales se insertan en el sistema de cable.
