Abstract
La invención se refiere a un proceso y mecanismo para el manejo de losas (2a, 2b) particularmente, las producidas por colada continua, cuyas superficies se pulen antes de que se laminen en un tren de laminado, en este proceso la losa se agita sobre una mesa de pulido reversible (12a, 12b) que está debajo de un agregado de pulido, dispuesto en una cabina de una unidad de pulido (I, II) la mesa de pulido sale linealmente de la cabina después de que se efectúa el tratamiento de pulido en una de las superficies, la losa se levanta de la mesa de pulido y se conduce a un mecanismo de volteo en donde la losa, después der ser volteada, se toma del mecanismo de volteo y se lleva a la mesa de pulido con la superficie no pulida hacia arriba, se introduce nuevamente en la cabina de pulido para tratar esta superficie. Un objetivo de la invención es proporcionar un proceso y mecanismo sencillo para manipular continuamente losas durante su pulido, a la vez dicho mecanismo se construye de manera sencilla. Esto se logra elevando la losa mediante un manipulador de losas (9) que cuenta con una pinza-elevador giratoria y travesaños de elevación (14; 14a, 14b) mediante el cual la losa sujeta tanto se transporta transversalmente como se voltea.
