The Journal of Dynamic Behavior of Materials is a peer-reviewed publication focused on the science and engineering of material and structural responses under time-dependent conditions. The journal emphasizes both extreme operational conditions — such as high strain rates, extreme temperatures, large plastic deformations, and high pressures — and processes with larger timescales, like low-velocity impacts and progressive deformations.
Key Areas of Focus:
Experimental Techniques:
High-strain-rate testing (Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar, gas-gun, powder-gun, laser or explosive-driven experiments, drop towers).
Finite element methods (FEM), molecular dynamics (MD), and multiscale modeling.
AI-enabled materials design and innovative simulation approaches.
Research Topics:
Time-dependent material properties under dynamic and gradual deformation.
Experimental-computational hybrid studies linking empirical data with predictive models.
Development of new experimental diagnostics and material modeling frameworks.
The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, technical notes, and application-based papers, fostering innovation and inclusivity in the scientific community. Submissions from diverse perspectives are strongly encouraged.
