This special issue invites submissions that echo Muttoni’s insights and expand upon Ochsendorf’s seven pillars, engaging with the evolving intersections of art, engineering, and design in a rapidly changing world. Crucially, we also seek contributions that reflect on the lessons of history, examining how the foundational principles of structural art—illustrated by Nervi, Menn, and other pioneers, continue to influence and inspire today’s innovators. Who are the contemporary designers building on this legacy, and how are they advancing structural art to address the challenges of the 21st century?
We welcome contributions that investigate the creative, sustainable, and ethical dimensions of structural art and its transformative potential in the 21st century.
