Trump targets First Amendment, free press

"This move tears at the independence of a free press in the United States. It suggests the government will choose the journalists who cover the president. In a free country, leaders must not be able to choose their own press corps.”

"It means the president can pick and choose who covers the executive branch, ignoring the fact that it is the American people who through their taxes pay for the running of the White House, the president’s travels and the press secretary’s salary.”

"A dangerous move for democracy."

Well... This is a little irritating...

I just spent over $50,000 to put a bank vault style door on my recently purchased Cave-front property..., along with another chunk of change on pallets of MRE's (the shipping is the killer) plus water storage and purification units And Now these scientists who said there Was a Real chance of the Big One landing on the Greater Indianapolis Area change their freaking minds...!??!?

Time to investigate NASA Elon... 😉

The question still remains....

Will the basketball team win more Big Ten games than the football team?

The football team won 8 conference games. With the unexpected wins at Michigan State and vs. Purdue, we sit at 7 conference wins with 4 games to go. All 4 games are winnable, but also losable! We should beat Penn State and Ohio State at home... should. We should win at Washington, but the road is always tough, particularly traveling all the way to the Pacific Northwest. Not sure I expect a win at Oregon but you never know.

I think we'll get to 9 at least, but this team is so up and down, who knows. I don't think it's crazy to think we could lose 3 or all of the remaining games and not make it past the football team.

What say you?

Talk to your kids - nothing is ever as bad as it seems

I can't recall when a story about people I do not know has made me this sad and this irate. Sextortion of American teens by criminal gangs are causing suicides. Teen suicides often follow months or years of depression and often heroic efforts of parents and mental health professionals. These sextortion cases often do not, leaving grieving families bewildered and wondering what signs they missed. Tragically, they often missed none. Talk to you kids, especially teens. Tell them that your love and support is unconditional.

The day before 15-year-old Braden Markus received unsolicited sexual messages on Instagram, he was “literally on cloud nine” from his coach’s praise at their Friday and Saturday football games, recalls his mom, Jennifer Argiro-Markus. The Columbus, Ohio teen spent Saturday night playing XBox with his cousins and eating his favorite Japanese takeout.
At 11:01 on Sunday morning, a predator posing as a teenage girl contacted Braden and convinced him to send nude images. He died by suicide less than 30 minutes later.
In the final five minutes of Braden’s life, he told the predator over and over again, “I am only 15. Why are you doing this to me? I am only 15, you will ruin my life.”
In these moments, teens are often actually communicating with a group of three to four foreign cybercriminals who simultaneously contact the victim, handle a money transfer, and conduct research to find their family members, contacts and school.

Trump working on an "economic development package" with the Russians....lol.

Because, by all means, let's give Russia a lifeline while they lose a war they can't win and watch their economy shrink.

Trump is not just a Russian stooge....he's their best asset. You'll never convince me that Trump loves the American way over the Russian way.

It's a sad state of affairs when our GOP can't see this.

Talk about shitting and pissing all over our WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam vets...while he hollows out the VA, to boot.

Disgraceful, fellas.

B1G standings and RPIs - 2/24/25

The dust has settled on the first two weekends of the season along with one week of midweek games. Here is how the teams have done so far in the nonconference season along with their early RPI ranking.

To show you how puzzling the RPI can be, Purdue is currently ranked 15th in the country in RPI ranking yet they have played eight straight games against Our Sisters of the Poor competition so far. They have another four games this coming weekend against Akron which is currently 2-4. The RPI takes into consideration your opponents schedule as well as the opponents, opponents schedule which has to be in play here.

The early records don't mean much after just two weeks into the season, but I thought I would post it anyway.

On the bubble

Bigfoot has led his $6 million team to the brink of .500 in the B10. He seems to have figured out that he should play the winning players along with the appropriate big. Like it or not, MR was good yesterday. MM can sit and look uninterested for the rest of the ride.

3 very winnable games along with an opportunity to seal the deal @ Oregon. My geuss is that comes down to Senior day and OSU to go 3-1 and and recieve an invite to get smashed in round 1.

Maybe Drake in Dayton?

HBO Max Documentary 'The Team That Beat the Dream Team'

Not a big documentary person but found myself watching this one because I love that era of basketball, it was pretty cool overall imo.

Summary - Details the 7/8 member undergrad USA college Select Team that defeated the '92 Dream Team in their first day scrimmage. No media present and 1 game tape, never before released.

*****Be Warned.******. Heavy Duke influence and bend with the documentary which might make you gag/throw up more than once.

Some takeaways.

- Kentucky's Mashburn wearing what I'm saying was a 10 grand gold chain is very telling. (There were a few others but his stood out.)

- Felt like the Select college team were guys that were known to be bought and paid for, from programs that were really elevating their under the table payrolls at the time. Duke, NC, KY, Michigan, etc.

And Coach K, ole Roy went out of their way to not mix in guys that were from programs that weren't obviously dirty and paying players.

- Some notable guys not on that Select Team due to their June draft status or undergrad status.

Shaq, Mourning, Jimmy Jackson, Harold Miner.

- Calbert was the only 1993 first team All American not on that USA Select team.

Curious, anybody know the story or have thoughts on why Calbert was omitted from that 1992 USA basketball college Select Team? tia
